In Advance...

Ephesians 2:10
For we are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus
unto good works, which God had before
ordained that we should walk in them.

I learned a lot this past weekend - as I have been saying - I got to go down to Southern Mississippi and help with the relief effort taking place down there - I was amazed at what a difference just 2 and half days can make in the life of someone in need- this has changed my view of those who suffer - the man we helped was named Lester - he said some amazing things about how Katrina has brought much good out of what was so bad - just the look in his face was worth the trip - God is showing me that its not about me - its all about Him - was it easy to go and work those long hours in the hot sun? no - but it was worthwhile and it also changed my life - I say all this to say that God has a plan for each of our lives - sometimes we follow Him closely and do what He wants us to do right then and there -but other times we are far behind Him and cannot really see or hear what He wants from us - in those times we are not yet ready for the mission He has set before us - the main point is God has given us works to do in advance- what an amazing concept to know that God already has a plan for our lives- we can either live it His way or our way - I have learned if we choice the latter we end up missing some great blessings on the way - Because of God's work in my life at this time - I can now see that He does in fact have a plan for me - its not easy going and doing something we are not comfortable with - but I feel that God's desire is not that we would be comfortable - but instead He just wants us to be willing to follow Him wherever He leads - the work God is calling us to do has been prepared before hand and is custom made for our lives - lets all be willing to follow the GOD who does things in advance!

footnote: Before all this - GOD had a plan!
By the blood of CHRIST we are able to do good works!

I AM part 5

Song of Solomon 6:3I am my beloved's, and my beloved is mine..

Today is the end of this series on the Great I AM -there are many more verses that I could use so I will do this again Lord willing - Today I am using a book of the bible I have not used much - many people see the romantic overtones to this book - and that is not by accident - for God created love - He created passion and you will find that all in this book - makes you want to go out and read this - if you want to know what true romance is - just read this book to your wife or husband! Amen!
To sum it all up in a WORD - GOD IS LOVE! Amen!
I heard a song by the group 10 Ave North called My beloved In this song they sing about a finance' and his to be bride - but taken deeper - it shows a picture of God's love for us - We the Church are the Bride of Christ -this is a hard concept to us who are male - but this is the biblical truth - the Church is the Bride and Jesus is the groom! He has brought us love through sacrifice - HE has given us a future and a hope with Him forever- He has pledged His life to us - we are united in Him and HE in us - the marriage ceremony is a picture of the God and His Bride -the Church - We are His beloved! HE has taken claim to us - He is the Great I AM - and He wants an unspotted bride - not one that has to be cleaned up - JESUS CHRIST came to take our sins away and "clean us up" so that we could have a part in His eternal kingdom - Marriage is a bond between two people - male and female - and its meant to be forever -but sadly many make this commitment and they cannot follow through and this results in broken relationships -but God can even heal that! Lets focus on the Groom and prepare ourselves as the Bride CHRIST is soon coming back for ....HE IS - THE GREAT I AM!

footnote: As the Bride are we ready for CHRIST to return?
By the blood of CHRIST makes us pure and unspotted!

I AM part 4

ISAIAH 48:12
Hearken unto me, O Jacob and Israel, my called;
I am he; I am the first, I also am the last.

In this ongoing theme of the Great I AM - God again reminds us that HE is the first and the last -HE has always been - and always will be - He is eternal but also everywhere all at once -He sees all at once - while we see just today or maybe tomorrow- and its a chance we see down the road a few months - we have the plans drawn out - the time taken off - and we want things to work out our way many times- but God often has other ideas - His plans are grander then our plans - HE has seen the end of all things - He has also been there in the beginning - and He was even there before the beginning ever took place - He stands outside of time and yet came into time as Jesus Christ and laid His life down -
He reminds us that HE simply IS -that is enough for me! He is so much more then mere words could express. He is that great! Our minds are too small - our view to limited to see just how great HE really is - all we have is the WORD and HIS SPIRIT and believe that is enough -that's where faith plays a role - God has chosen not to reveal it all to us just yet - there is still much mystery with God and as ive said before once you think you have HIM understood - He moves! But at the same time He is the same today - as He was yesterday as He will be tomorrow and forever more after that - You can count on GOD & you can take HIM at HIS word always. He is the great I AM!
Amen!

I AM part 3

Leviticus 19:4
Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods:
I am the LORD your God.

Today we shift gears a little, God has told Moses that HE is the Great I AM and that the words Moses speaks will be His words not Moses's! Today God tells His people just who He is - He is the I AM - the only GOD - He says not to turn to false idols that will only bring you death - but turn to HIM the true and living God - there is none like Him! Sometimes we have idols in our lives without even knowing it -and the scary thing is that it can disguise itself as something good - perfect church attendance is fine but when you brag about it and look down on those who miss -its wrong - if you think that being in church every time the lights are on makes you a better Christian than those down the street who don't attend as much - in God's eyes it makes you no better then them - going to church will help you with your walk and its a good thing to do - but used wrong it can become an idol - work is one idol America struggles with - many people are married to their jobs - what they do for a living is their whole life -now its not wrong to give your jobs all you have and its not wrong to be successful but the line must be drawn - I had a conversation with God as I put some mulch in my garden I am working on - I felt like HE was saying -its great you want your garden to look nice -but what about the gospel - what about the business of saving souls - I got out of this conversation that we put other things ahead of God and that's an idol- its scary to think about it - but right then and there I asked God to show me where I need to draw closer - at first I said help me to see this - but then I remembered that its what HE sees that is important - now is having a nice yard a bad thing? No its not - but when it becomes all you do and all you focus on - you will miss what God has for you - we must be about God's business of bring the truth to the lost around us - if we lose focus we end up doing what matters to us instead of what matters to God -
Remember HE is the GREAT I AM - He made us and brought us with a price - We now belong to Him - its no longer our lives but His!

footnote: what does your life mean?
By the blood of CHRIST we regain on the focus on why we are here!

I AM part 2

Exodus 3:14
And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and HE said, Thus shall you say unto the children of Israel, I AM has sent me to you.

Today's verse is the first place I know of that God says that HE is the I AM - note that God does not say He is the I was - or I will be - no its I AM! When Moses asked God what to say to the people of Israel - God simply said - tell them I AM sent you - God has always been and always will be - He has no beginning and He will have no end - we who are called by God will also have no end - while one day our physical bodies will die but our spirit will live on forever - just think about - forever is a long time - its so long our minds cannot comprehend it! God says He is the GREAT I AM - and HE is - and will always be! Our minds do not understand how God could have no beginning - well to me its like the vast universe that stretches on and on forever - God made that and God is even bigger then that - we don't serve a small weak god - we serve the ALMIGHTY GOD - the ONE who calls HIMSELF - I AM!
Do you know the I AM? Do you have a personal relationship with JESUS CHRIST? If you do - then walk with Him all the days of your life - if you don't - well come to know HIM right now - just give your life over to Him -admit you are a sinner without hope without Him and just surrender to Him - He came to save you - His shed blood will cover all your sins!
I have not asked this question enough and just felt since I saw someone at church saved yesterday - that is was high time to ask this question - please pray over this question -pray for those who are lost -that JESUS would save them today! Amen!

I AM part 1

JOHN 11:25
Jesus said unto her " I AM the resurrection, and the life: he that believes in Me, thought he were dead, yet shall he live!"

Today I begin a new series - this series will highlight the fact that Jesus is the Great I AM - I will go through God's word and find the verses that show that JESUS is I AM!

Today's verse is in response to Mary and Martha at the loss of their brother Lazerus - you know the story - Jesus knew that His friend was sick and near death and yet He didn't come to his rescue when they thought He should have - Jesus delayed to bring Glory to Himself! He knew with just one word Lazerus would live again- that's all it took - Jesus was not worried at all - while Mary and Martha questioned what we all do - Does Jesus really care? In the boat that was about to capsize - The disciples found Jesus asleep -they asked Him if He cared - but we all know the answer - JESUS cares so much for us He was willing to die for us -to take our sins upon Himself - to make a way for us back to our Father God! He cares - He simply has a plan that sometimes seems to make no sense to us human beings - we don't have enough wisdom to even understand if He were to explain it all to us - we just simply need to trust HIM and take HIM at HIS word! He is the resurrection and the life - He is the only ONE that can Save you or anyone else for that matter -HE is the Great I AM!
Worship HIM today! HE alone is worthy!

Excluded

Romans 4:26-27
To declare I say, at this time His righteousness: that He might be just, and the justifier of him which believes in Jesus. Where is boasting then? it is excluded. By what law? Of works? Nay! but by the law of faith!

I was watching a dvd last night by the music group DcTalk - it was in with their Free at Last 10 year anniversary edition CD - one thing I picked up from this dvd was that these three men that make up this group -struggle with fame and being in the public eye - They want to be sure to keep the main thing the main thing and keep their focus on their Lord Jesus! We all face that same thing day by day - we all at times can get caught up in self pride - in thinking we have earned our way - but the truth is - none us has nor can earn their way - Jesus had to laid down His life to save us - that is all we should boast in - nothing more and nothing less - we all are human and when someone pays us a compliment - its very hard for it not to go to our head - and when we get puffed up- God can no longer use us - its a battle we must face every day - we must be willing to take up our cross and follow JESUS wherever He goes -and many times it will be in a direction that we don't want to go in - but let HIS will be done - lets live lives that only boast about JESUS and what HE has done -when people want to say good things about us - lets always be willing to point to the true source that causes us to live lives that bring Him glory! We all are being watched and we must present our lives as a reflection of HE who lives in us - Paul says that boasting is now excluded - its not need - for God Himself has done all to save us and redeem us through HIS SON!
If you must boast - Boast in CHRIST!

footnote: Who do you give the credit too?
By the blood of CHRIST......shows us what we should boast about!

Anger: Put it away

Ephesians 4:31Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

Today's verse by Paul proclaims what we should do as born again children of God above -we need to get rid of things in our lives - or better let - allow GOD to take them out of our lives- when we truely follow our Lord Jesus - our lives cannot help but change - Paul says we need not have bitterness , wrath or anger in our lives- to be like Christ however means we do get angery sometimes - but here lies the point - if we get angry like Jesus did - we would be righteous in our anger - Jesus was no push over- He drove out those selling in His Father's House - The Word says for us to be angry but not to sin - it also says we should never let the sun go down on our wrath - we don't need to hold grudges - we don't need to be mad because we don't get our way - but we do need to be angry about the injustice in the world - the sin that consumes the world - when we are angry in the right way - we can be used mightly by God - however - misplaced anger can ruin our witness for Christ -if we are angry all the time and have no joy in our lives -why would anyone want to be around us - much less follow Christ? I know these are harsh words - I am hearing what is being witten and have to acknowledge my failure in this area - I often get angry about things that matter very little - I tend to make a moutian from what is actually a mole hill - now anger has its place in our lives but should not be the only thing people see - God is Love proclaims His Mighty Word -let this be true of our lives- when people see us - do they see the love of CHRIST or just an angry person? Lets allow God to rid our lives of those things that hinder our walk and witness for Christ!

footnote: God says for us to be angry but sin not....this is the key!
By the blood of CHRIST......we can demonstrate real love!

WORRY WON'T ADD...

Philippians 4:6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.

Today I used a different version of God's Word- when I looked up worry in the King James (since I don't have my bible with me - I am using bible.com) and worry would not come up - I needed to talk today on this subject - in part because my step mom Sande is going to have major surgery this morning - and I have to admit I do worry about this as does my Dad - but we all know she is in God's hands now - He can and is able to heal her on the spot - her survival does not depend on me or my dad nor the doctors but on God alone - but yet in our flesh we worry - but worry won't add a thing - it won't help at all - believe me - I am a world-class worrier I come by it honestly - and I do it so well -so naturally - I don't even have to think about worrying - it just happens - but I know its futile to worry - I don't want to lack faith in God at all - at any time but that is exactly what worry is - we cannot do anything about the outcome - all we can do is trust God and take HIM at HIS word - He alone is faithful! Trust in Him today and don't worry!

footnote: worry is nothing more then wasted time better spent trusting JESUS!
By the blood of CHRIST......we need not worry ever again!

SERVE WITH FEAR

Psalm 2:11
Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

Many times in the Gospels - Jesus proclaims to us not to fear - many times people did fear the very sight of God in man! Jesus came as God but had flesh on - I believe He did this for our benefit - many times we fear what we see - if we cannot see it - most times we don't fear it - today's verse is about fear - but this time we are told to fear - we need to remember who God is - He knows everything there is to know about everyone -that should strike fear in most hearts - the very fact that we cannot hide anything from God should cause us to take a better look at our lives -and allow Him to show us places that need improvement - we must fear the Lord - for Proverbs proclaims that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom - one problem most of us have is we don't fear the Lord enough -we don't take HIM at his word enough - and We fail to remain obedient to Him when we know we should -
If you want to serve the Lord -remember to do it in fear and rejoice in trembling -we must always be respectful of our God and what power He has - we need not forget that our God is are strong tower and our refuge of protection - lets only fear GOD and all else will just fall into place! Fear and Trembling - is that how you serve the LORD?

footnote: Perfect love casts out fear - we must love the LORD our GOD with are WHOLE heart! Amen!
By the blood of CHRIST......causes us to love and tremble!

James Chapter 2 part 15

James 2:26
For as the body without the spirit is dead,
so faith without works is dead.

Today we come to the last verse of Chapter 2 of James - just like last time I am going to walk to another book and skip around as God so leads me - I pray that you have enjoyed this Chapter and pray for me as I go other places in God's Word!

Today's verse is the end cap of the subject of works Vs faith - James does not mean to stir up a debate - but does mean to make a point - as I read this final verse of chapter 2 - I was stuck with a fact - when you believe on Christ and He comes into your life and you become a new creation its not forced - but rather it comes from the inside out - religion however tries to make the change via the outside instead of the inside -and that is why we have so many who don't know Christ but think they do -this is again why we must look at the fruit - as Jesus said about the trees and their fruit production - we must be careful that we are sure we see what we see - this year in my Bsf class - I learned how Jesus came upon a Fig tree that was fully leafed out - He walked up expecting figs but when He found none - He cursed the tree - I never understood that until now - from a distance we can look the part of a saved person - but upon close inspection - if we don't see Jesus Christ and His life shining out from our lives- we must question rather we are really walking with Jesus - James says that faith without works is dead just like a body without the Spirit - believe me- I have seen the dead walk - I have seen people who seem to have it all together but really are nothing more then dead man bones - I say this not to judge but to warn - many times we think we agree with someone until we go a little further - God wants us to be wise - and He does not want us to fall for anything and everything - His truth is secure and it lasts forever - It never changes - however the ways of the world are nothing more then winds of change- where you place your trust? If its any where but CHRIST JESUS -we must revaluate our lives- amen!

footnote: Only those who really know Jesus
can really work the works of faith.

James Chapter 2 part 14

James 2:24-25
You see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. Likewise also was not Rehab the harlot justified by
works, when she had received the massagers, and
had sent them out another way?

These verses have really caused controversy in the church - some say that no work you can do can save you -while other's say that you must work out your own salvation with fear and trembling and the funny thing about this - both groups wrote the Bible! So which side do you side with - the funny answer is both - for what we have is two groups looking at the same thing from a different perspective -those who say works cannot save you - look on to JESUS when He laid down His life for our sins - its His Sacrifice - His Death and His Resurrection that in fact paid for our salvation - but the other group see the same thing from the other side - they say we have been saved for good works - and without such good works -the proof of salvation would not be there -after all its Jesus Himself who said we should look at the fruit being produced - He also said that only bad (lost) trees can produce bad fruit - while good (saved)trees cannot produce bad fruit - only good - with in these two examples there are some who are in fact saved but don't act like it - only God knows the deadlevel truth of someone salvation - many make claims to know Christ and yet live lives that simply make that hard to believe -while others do they profession with the actions and not their words - that's the group I want to be in - we have sat around long enough saying stuff -its time to do stuff - I think that is what James is calling us to do - while these verses are debated throughout time -we need to remember that JESUS came to save -and once He saves us - we belong to Him and in such - we should begin to produce good works of worship - of praise to our King - many thing producing fruit it optional - but I don't believe we have any such option -we all need to read the Word and pray and seek God's face -these are some of the most complicated verses I have ever written on - I pray that God's Spirit has brought clarity to these words!

James Chapter 2 part 13

James 2:23
And the scripture was fulfilled which said, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the friend of God...

Believe it or not -but we are all in the same position that Abraham was in - now some of you would say that Abraham was a Spiritual Giant and we cannot be compared to him - but wait -its true - we all have the option to be filled with God's righteousness - its our faith that causes God to open the gates of heaven -but without Jesus and His sacrifice - even our faith alone would not be enough -we must believe God when He says we are now in Christ and we are new creations - we can believe all we want but unless we take hold of Jesus Christ and His death - all our good works warrant nothing at all - we can try and live a righteous life on our own - but we won't make it - we cannot keep the law in ourselves - only through Christ can we be righteous - its not what we do that saves us - its what Jesus already did that saves us - but once saved - we are now inhabited by the Holy Spirit of the living God - and now can do good works (not in our own power but in God's) but remember its not that works themselves that save us - but the blood of the Lamb - Abraham believed God (but please note he didn't always believe God - as he devised a plan to have an offspring in a way that God was not commanding him too) he was righteous through the blood - it was not Abraham's actions that saved him but God Himself - you see Jesus died and rose again not just for our sins - but for all sins! Abraham through he lived before Christ - also is included -in a word -amazing - lets see what else James has to say in tomorrow's verse-
Please read vs 24!

James Chapter 2 part 12

James 2:21-22
Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the Altar? Seeing that how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?

Today's verse is very controversial - many use this verse to say that its the works we do that saves us - but they misunderstand what is said here - to me the best way I can see it is to say that while it was grace that saved Abraham - without the works we would have a much different picture of Abraham - what if when we were saved we went on living just like we did when we were lost -if there is no change -maybe a change didn't take place! We who have been reborn from above view our world differently then we did when were lost - our whole world view changes and what do should change as well - of course there are cases of those who do in fact know Christ and yet show no works at all - many have backslidden into the old lifestyle and there are works that do not line up with God's perfect will - they go against the truth -so there is no fruit to be given at all - we must be plugged into Christ so that we do the works of Christ -we cannot do it apart from Him - we must live genuine lives of faith and then our works will line up with our faith - allow the Holy Spirit to transform you and not your self effort-
Christ must be in the midst of our works - or they will be worthless.
let CHRIST live in your life today - the world around us is watching!

footnote: John 15:5 - .....apart from ME you can do nothing....

James Chapter 2 part 11

James 2:20
But will you know, Oh vain man, that faith without works is dead?

Yesterday morning in Sunday School as we read through Ephesians - we came to a verse that said we are God's workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works... To me this means God made us to be like Himself - He made us for good works- not that these works would ever or could ever save us - but once who know Christ- He expects to be present in our lives and He does not want to share us with anyone else- God has a plan for each of our lives - and He wants us to do good things- again not to earn a place in His kingdom but because we have a place in His kingdom -sealed by the blood of Christ the Lord. Our lives after conversion should be filled with good works- anything we do for Christ will turn out good - its not about being better then our fellowman - its about bringing God glory - James again reiterates that faith without works is dead - its dead faith - of little worth - we must be outside our walls of our churches to really serve Christ- yes we can serve Him in the church but God does not want to limit our workplace there -HE wants us to go out through the world and show them Christ in us - He is the hope of Glory - He is the hope that every man -woman and child needs - We have the truth living inside of us - and many of us want to sit on the sidelines and let the new in the faith doe all the work - thinking we have earned our rest - lets be like Paul as he said he must complete the race set before and to finish strong should be our goal - our lives belong to Christ now -let work for the Lord! Let your works show your faith is alive and well today and you will bring glory to God!

footnote: Apart from Christ we cannot do any good works at all!
because of CHRIST......we live and breathe good works!

James Chapter 2 part 10

James 2:19
You believe that there is one God; you do well; the devils also believe, and tremble....

Today's verse is one of the most famous from the book of James- in this passage - James says its good that we believe in God - but also cautions that even the devils and evil ones know God is real - they are rebellious against God so they have to believe in Him to be rebellious to Him - you have heard it said there are no atheists in foxholes -but the truth of the matter there is - there are many who don't believe in God at all -they seem to think we are some kind of cosmic accident - with no purpose and no designer - we who have been saved and sanctified by the blood of JESUS know there is a God and we trust HIS SON with our salvation - HE came from Heaven to Earth to save that which was lost - its not enough to just believe with your head -its got to get into your heart - its good to believe in God - but that does not save us - its the blood from Jesus that accomplishes that - we cannot have it any other way - many do good deeds in hope that it will outweigh the bad they have done - while its good to good things - its not the end all -there must be a reason for the hope we have - there must be a reason why those who follow Christ are willing to lay down their lives instead of denying Him - Its good that we believe in God - but without the shed blood of JESUS - we are the most hopeless of all - what do you believe?

footnote: the enemy knows there is a God -that's why he hates HIM!

because of CHRIST......we are saved and set free forever!

James Chapter 2 part 9

James 2:18
Yea, a man may say, you have faith, and I have works: show me your faith without works, and I will show you my faith by my works.

James ends his talk about helping others by serving out our faith out loud for the world to see. Many say they have faith and yet do nothing to show of it - they don't live a life that brings glory to God and yet they may say they have faith - many have no idea what it means to have faith in Jesus Christ -its not about good works -its not about earning your way -its about serving others in Jesus Name! He saved us not to sit on the sidelines - He saved us to get involved in the lives of others -this goes against the grain of how many of us where raised and it flies in the face of those who say that living a good life is the key to salvation - its the other way around -without salvation you cannot live a good life that is pleasing to God - during our prayer meeting last night -someone prayed for someone going through a hard time with someone doing some awful things to them - the lady who prayed for them said that this person was not going against them but against God! This is so very true - how can we get past the words of Jesus when HE said when you help the least of these you help Him!? How can we say we believe in Christ and yet do nothing to produce fruit - I know I have gotten too lazy for my own good - for my service to God - its not about earning our way - but praising the Lord with our lives - so that others will see the truth in our lives - that we get to a point where our words and actions met! This steps on my toes often - I sometimes fail to do the right thing simply because I am too fearful or not trusting enough in the power of Almighty God - we are all in this together - James declares that faith without works is dead - or like Rich Mullins sung -its about a useless as a screen door on a submarine. Lets show the world our faith by the good works we do in the name of JESUS - again its not to earn God's favor -that was done long ago on the cross - its to serve God boldly and love Him because HE first loved us!

footnote: Words don't do much without action behind them.

because of CHRIST......we serve others in HIS name!

James Chapter 2 part 8

James 2:15-17
If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, and one of you say unto them, depart in peace, be warmed and filled; notwithstanding you give them not those things which are needed for the body; what does it profit? Even so faith, if it has not works it is dead, being alone...

In Today's verses - James contiunes on the thought about the works of our faith - his example is when seeing those in need - simply saying hello or be blessed is not enough -its without profit - how many times have we missed oppurunties to minister in the name of Jesus to those we met each day - there are real people with real needs - you can see them each and every day - often we don't do anything because of fear or just the fact we don't know what to do - or what to believe about those in need- as gas prices climb and job layoffs become more and more common - there will be even more people in need - how many times have we just passed them by for reasons like being too busy and even not seeing the need or even wanting to help at all -we live in a sin-sick world and its hard to trust -its hard to put yourself out - but our life is not our own - it belongs now to Christ -for He paid for us! Amen!
One reason I am involved with Compassion is that this ministy feeds those without food - and without Christ - it clothes the naked and feeds the hungry and also brings to light Christ to them! We have a mission field around us each day - James says faith without works is dead - being alone - if we simply talk the talk and don't walk the walk -we will lose our witness to the lost around us - people are in need around us - do we even notice them or are we so focused on our needs - the needs of others just fall through the cracks!? Lets serve others in the Name of Christ - that way our faith has power behind the words we speak!
because of CHRIST......our faith is alive and well!

James Chapter 2 part 7

James 2:14
What does it profit, my brethren, though a man say he has faith, and have not works? Can that faith save him?

God placed a vision on my heart about 2 years ago - I felt lead to help others one Saturday a month - I did this a couple of weeks but it did not keep on - its been 2 years but now God is finally bringing it to pass - I am learning how to focus on others - many times we just want to sit back and enjoy the grace God has given us - and say we have faith -and if we do that's good - but what's better then that? When we actually reach out to others in the name of Christ - I have to admit I could do so much more - but our works DO NOT SAVE US right!?
They don't save us at all -only the blood of JESUS does - but faith without works is dead faith - its not of much worth - and when we stay to ourselves we miss out on helping those in need- God has a plan and a place for each of us - He wants you to work right were you are sometimes -other times He will cause you to move great distances - but what matters is that we demonstrate our faith day to day - there are so many needs around us - I have to admit ive spent a great deal of time worrying about myself and my needs while missing out on the blessing that comes from helping others - lets not sit on our pews while the world around us in need -sometimes the rules need to be broken so we can serve Christ completely -there is too much division among us - it should not be so - we all need to work together - in the name of Christ -no matter what our church is called - we are Christ follows first and then church members - sometimes we spend too much time in the four walls of the church -we must as God put on my heart years ago -Preach to the Streets -God wants to use you today - why not check out way to help others -not to earn grace ( you cannot do that anyway!) But because CHRIST Loved us first -out of worship to our Savior and King!
Lets have faith that is alive - not dead!

James Chapter 2 part 6

James 2:10
For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point is guilty of all...

The stance God takes toward sin is much different then ours is - we feel if we just tell a while lie we are ok - but God calls us a sinner if we do just that - and James says we become guilty of the whole law - we want to get by with as much as we can so long as its not really sin we are ok right? This is not how God views it - He sees all sin the same -all of it is destructive to His children - He is not some killjoy with a list of rules and regulations to end our pleasure - but He does put His law in our hearts and has a line that He does not want us to cross for our own good - God loves us and made us in His image and wants us to have sweet fellowship with Him - without Christ this cannot happen because of sin - but Christ came and laid down His life for us - for our sins - He took our sins and died for them - we now can enjoy fellowship with God - but in that - we will no longer want to disobey Him -we will want to please Him - He has the law but we are now under grace but this does not mean do what you want and then ask for forgiveness -this cheapens His grace -He wants our lives to reflect HIS glory but if we are living a life full of sin -that cannot happen - yes we can be forgiven of all the sins we have committed and will ever commit - by way live a life displeasing to God -the God who came as Jesus to die for our sins!?
Lets let HIS SPIRIT rule us always - HE knows always what is best-
No sin you commit is unforgivable - save for blasphemy of the Holy Spirit which is unbelief! Seek God - ask for forgiveness and live for HIM always! Praise HIS Name!

James Chapter 2 part 4

James 2:6-7
...But you have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats? Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by which you are called?

Motives - Focus - Purpose
all these worlds add up to our what our life is all about - many times we error in the judgments we make - often we think its the rich that can do good things for us - and we don't look to those who are poor to help us at all - I go back to my sponsored Child Ruben - he is poor and yet is rich in wisdom and love - and yet here we are with too much stuff - yes we all have too much - and we have others with not enough -there is something wrong with this picture - and yet we will spend a hard earned money on entertainment and wanting to met the famous - the stars that society has made - the world lifts up those who have riches and fame but ignores the needed -these things should not be so - our hearts need to be more focused on serving Christ not on worldly things - again we must live in the world but we don't and should not be of the world- there is a line and its sometimes hard to see - God is telling us that its not the rich we need to focus on but the poor - as much as we think they need us -in reality we need them -we can learn much from them - they know what its like to be hungry and how to do without - many of us have never been hungry in such a way before - the United States is blessed and its inhabitants are some of the richest in the world- and I am talking about you - and me - we all are in the upper 9% of the worlds wealth - compared to the world - we have too much and the rest of the world is in serious need -now there are those right in our back yards that don't have anything - they need our help - we are not to be living for ourselves but for Jesus who bought us at a great price!
To be greatest of all -you must be a servant to all!

James Chapter 2 part 3

James 2:5
Listen, my beloved brethren, Has not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which He has promised to them that love Him?

Today I begin with a simple question with not such a simple answer -What are you living for? For some this question will be easy to answer - for others the answer is there but its not really worth saying - I believe that God is saying this to me right now -that we have lost our focus and are living for other things then for God and His glory - some believe we are here to get comfortable - we feel we put in 8 hours in the office and come home without doing anything all that bad - we may watch a little tv - but who isn't? We may not spend all our money on ourselves but has our focus changed - when we begin our relationship with Christ many of us are fired up and go out to save the world for Jesus but then slowly but surely we go back to "Normal" whatever that is - God has been convicting me that my focus is not as sharp as it needs to be -
We must be willing to do whatever God calls us to do -and its not going to be easy- if you want an easy life -then don't follow Christ- being His disciple is not for the weak of heart -its for those willing to risk it all for Christ and His glory - I want to be in that place - but I am not there yet- where is the focus of our lives? If its anything but living for Christ -our priorities are way off... James talks about those poor in the world but rich in faith - I have a personal story to share - a child that I sponcer named Ruben has been praying for me and my wife and the struggles we are facing - Ruben's simple faith in God caused me to cry out in praise to God! Ruben said that God never leaves His children - what faith - and this is a 9 year old little boy -just think that he has it figured out and us older folks are still trying too - we need to return to child-like faith if we are ever to follow our Savior all the way home! He has great plans for us -just trust in Him - He is the father of the fatherless-
HE is faithful - He looks at our hearts - not our earthly riches-
where is your focus? Keep your eyes on JESUS!

James 2:2-4
For if there comes a man into your assembly with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile garment; and you have respect to him that wares the goodly clothing, and say to him, Sit here in a good place; and then say to the poor, you stand there, or sit here under my footstool: Are you not then patial in yourselves, and have become judges of evil thoughts?

As human beings in an imperfect world -we do end up treating people differntly- just try this sometime -if you see someone who is famous - what do you do? If you a normal person- you treat them differntley - or if you see a poor begger on the street- you will do whatever you can to avoid them - this is harsh reality - and its not pretty -but its so true of our fallen human nature- in another place we treat our bosses differnt then we do our fellow co-workers - this is life in the corperate world - its a good place to be of the world and not in the world - Its sad but we do make judgments of those around us simply by the way they look - God says this should not be so - and it has no place in the church -it is sure to divide us and allow satan to get a foothold on us - lets love like Jesus loves and show no partiality -afterall God made everyone!

James Chapter 2 part 1

James 2:1
My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.

Right off the bat James tackles a big issue even in today's church- the problem when you have people gather together is the presence of clicks or groups of people who only hang out with those of their group- without including anyone else in their little group -much of the time this happens without any intent for it to happen - but people seem to only want to deal with certain people - James says our faith should not be in respect of persons - another words - our focus must remain on Christ and His saving work - and that fact that God can and does save anyone He wants too - no one is too far from the cross to be saved - we may give up on people but God never will -we need to remember the greatest commandment is to love God and others - this must remain in this order- anything else will cause major problems- we must keep the main thing the main thing -often we get distracted by our friends - and try to impress them and often compromising our faith -we must keep our focus on God and not ourselves - many times we turn in and look inside us - and try to gain approval with those around us- sadly we try to do the same thing with our relationship with Christ -we need to live out of the fact that HE is our Lord and He calls us out of the world to join His ranks - lets live like James says today and always - God loves all and made all - We all belong to His Creation - no one is better then anyone else- amen!

Daniel 2:20-21
And Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are His: And He changes the times and the seasons: He removes kings, and sets up kings: He gives wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding!

Wisdom is something that is not gained overnight -but over a life time - we all learn at various rates - in some areas people excel while in others they do not - God says that to gain wisdom you must be wise - interesting statement - considering the fact that even if we are wise -all of us have done very dumb things- even the brightest of the brightest has off days, the point however is that God has both wisdom and might -together they are a powerful combination- one issue we all have in common is trials - they come in various shapes and sizes - and its not so much what we go through as how we go through it -if we lean on God's wisdom and might instead of our weak flesh -then we will end up pleasing Him and showing others just who HE is to us - the wisdom that comes from God is at first pure - and it will always line up with what HE has revealed to us in HIS word - if it goes against what is written -then be careful - it is not from God at all -the enemy of our souls wants to take us down -he does not want us to have godly wisdom - because once we do - he loses ground - lets remember the God we serve is full of wisdom and might - He is our strong tower - our ever present help in times of trouble and He holds us in His mighty arms of love-
Do you have wisdom that comes from God? Or are you relying on what your finite human mind can understand? His ways are not our ways!

footnote: If we seek to be wise - we must trust in God!
because of CHRIST......we get real life changing wisdom!

HOPE FOR THE HOPELESS

ISAIAH 58:10-11
...and if you spend yourselves on behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will raise in the darkness, and your night will become like noonday. The Lord will guide you always; He will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail...

Once our lives are given over to God and we surrender to His will- things begin to change -or at least they should begin to change -there are however many who never mature at all -they stay in a rout and they cannot seem to get out - these day's the focus is on self -that is what the world lifts up - the world says its all about us- its about our needs and if what you currently have does not satisfy you - go out and get another- this is one reason so many marriages fail - this is one reason many so many seem to fall out of their faith - it just did not work for them or so they thought -they have been blinded by the enemy of our souls - with that said - when we mature in Christ the focus must change or we cannot and will not grow - we must begin to look outside the four walls of our lives- we should begin to see the needs of others around us -and begin to realize this life is not about us but about HIM! Jesus give us the example -when HE laid down His life for us- He died not for any sin He committed - no way - He never sinned -He did it for us - He was not focused on His needs but on the needs of others - As Christ begins to clean out our lives -He puts HIS Spirit in us and this changes everything - now we can quench the Spirit by ignoring Him and He has given us a free will to do just that -but if you would just listen to His still small voice -your focus will begin to change- there is a whole world of hurting people around us - many need just a smile or word of encouragement - sure God could fix it without any effort -but He has chosen instead to use HIS people - many times we are lazy and don't want to do the work that this involves to help others - but when we listen we give hope to the hopeless -we put Love in a place where hate was - we put light in the darkness and we end up pleasing God!
Let's be willing to go -when and where GOD calls us to!

CARRIED AWAY - 3-31-08

LUKE 24:51
And it came to pass, while He blessed them, He was parted from them, and carried up into heaven...

Today's verse is the very end of Jesus' earthly ministry - He was taken to heaven - HE did not die but was carried up to heaven - He was going back to where HE had come from -His mission was complete - it was all done - He blessed them and then in a flash He was gone - the same thing will happen to each of us one day -we will be taken up into the sky and finally be home - just the thought of going home makes me excited - but at the same time I fear the unknown of it all -that's human to fear what we don't know - but however we end up home is the best way - God has our last day planned out already - but He has not shared that info with any of us - some may claim to know when they will die - but that's not from God at all - we can all guess at it - but God knew it best not to tell us when our last breath will be - We will all go some place -the question is -where is your final destination!? Were are your reservations made? The truth is only JESUS can bring us to God- both forgiving us of our sins and making a way for us to access to the Kingdom -the facts are the longer we live - the more people we know will be going home -its hard to deal with - but its reality - God has a plan that is much better then ours - HE knows when its time for us to come home - in the meantime we must live each day -each moment as if it was our last -what would you do if you knew you had 1 day to live -I bet all of us would do things differently - I know I would - but lets not worry about when we are going to go home and live for JESUS know -
Lets allow HIM to carry us away and not get carried away by this world!

HE FULFILLED

ACTS 3:18
...But those things, which God before had shown by the mouth of all His prophets, that Christ should suffer, He has so fulfilled!

The mission of Jesus Christ was nothing more then a rescue mission - us from our sins -our sins that separate us from a Holy and Righteous God - God's mercy is rich in Christ- He came and did as HE was told and He fulfilled it all -nothing more is needed - you know today you truly live for the first time - God's offer is now on the table - He came willingly to die for your sin - your sin placed Him on the cross and His mighty love for you kept Him there in prefect submission to His Father.
Jesus paid it all - He paid our debt - a debt He did not owe - these are words from a precious song that rings true as we leave the Easter Season -soon we will speak about Jesus going back to His Father -His mission completed - It is finished cried Jesus just before He died for our sins - lets worship Him with our lives -we don't have to put on a front -we don't have to prove ourselves righteous - we don't have to fulfill a list of to do's - all we need to do is be still and know that He is God - let HIM live through you - the whole point is that we cannot do it alone - we can do nothing apart from Jesus says John 15:5-
Let JESUS shine through your life - because HE has fulfilled it all!
He paid it all - nothing more to do but worship Him forever!
He fulfilled it all - His love reigns - live in His love today and forever!

footnote messages part 4

1st John 3:4
He that says, I know HIM(CHRIST), and does not keep His commandments, is a lair, and the truth is not in him.
(Tomorrow's verse will be 1 John 1:6)

Today's verse piggybacks off yesterdays - the Word plainly states that if you say you know GOD but do not follow His commandments He says you are a lair - and the truth is not in your - I have to confess I know someone that no longer walks in the light of the truth of these words - they are at a point where right seems wrong and wrong seems right. They lie at the drop of a hat and think nothing wrong of it - The words God uses are harsh but none the less true - how can we say we know Him and yet live just like the world around us - God say if this is so -the truth is not in you - now hear me out - I am not saying that if you sin you are lost - nor am I saying that one sin causes you to fall - but its a lifestyle - its when you begin to sin in one area and you keep on going - and then saying you know God is absurd - now granted - some are not at the same level spiritually and God takes that into account -but the bottom line is if you really love HIM you will obey Him! I know in my own life there has been areas where I have continued to sin - and its those areas that God is working on in my life- He is showing me where I fall short and shows me He makes up the difference- one reason its important to obey God is that the world around us is watching -looking to see if we just say we love JESUS or if we really do love JESUS - even the lost world around us can tell - lets examine our lives to see if there is any sin that is keeping us from a close and intimate relationship with Christ and hand it over to Him - Is the truth in you?

a side note: If you have CHRIST inside -you will obey HIM!
In CHRIST obedience is a lifestyle!

footnote messages part 5

1st John 1:6
If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not know the truth...

Today is the final footnote message- I hope to do this again soon - I also have some other things in the work - maybe going back to James and doing chapter 2- pray for me and this ministry -thank you!
Today's verse is much like yesterday's - the main point to me is that both darkness and light cannot exist in the same place at the same time - you have to have either or - and sin and purity cannot be in the same place -you have either one or the other - if you have no darkness - you have light - if you have no light - you have darkness - another way to put this is a tree can only produce the kind of fruit that comes from within - just like we produce from the outflow of our hearts - and for some of us - our hearts are a very dark place -however -God can see past all the stuff we put on the outside - and He looks right at our hearts - and He knows what's inside of us - Jesus said He knew what was inside of man - it is what causes death - Jesus in answering the Religious leaders question about washing before eating - Jesus said its not what goes into a man that defiles him - but what comes out of a man - what's in your heart? Today might be a good day to take an inventory - take a look at your life -seek God and see where sin exists in your life and ask Him to take it all away - but you must be willing to let go of something's- I will admit sin is pleasurable - that's why so many fall for its lie - many think that they can get by with something but the truth is God knows all and sees all - nothing is hidden from Him -this includes our hearts -if we say we have fellowship with God and yet live like the world around us - God says we lie! Lets give our lives over to JESUS so that the evil one cannot have us! Amen!

a side note: The absance of Light is just darkness...
In CHRIST we see the LIGHT even in the darkness of this world!

PART 1 - 3/15/08
THE DAY BEFORE PALM SUNDAY

John 12:13
They took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.

Jesus was coming to town riding on a donkey - exactly the way it was foretold hundreds of years before. He came to Jerusalem not as a worldly King that many thought He would come as - but as a lowly and humble servant of the Most High God - and yet all these people - some say thousands of people lined the streets that day to see Jesus ride into town - and nothing was ever the same again -the religious leaders felt this was the last straw - they hated the fact Jesus got so much attention and they also hated what He had to say - this crowd that is cheering on the coming King - will just a few days from now call for His death on a cross -this was all God's plan - This was not some last ditch effort to save mankind from our sins - not this was even before the beginning of all things!
The Cross - The Grave - The Life -
This series takes us from the Royal Entrance where we join the crowd in praising God - saying Hosanna in the Highest -Blessed is He that comes in the name of the Lord- Jesus came to die - this was His mission - So now the cross is coming into view - Jesus has told His Disciples that He was going to be judged and condemned to death - that He would be found guilty though He never ever sinned - not even once - and would pay the price for our sins - all of them - no one is too far from God - He is there waiting - JESUS did not come all that way just to set up an Earthly Kingdom - HE came to set the captives free - He came to laid HIS life down - He came for the cross - while Jesus worked with HIS hands in the caper entry shop - He would soon die on the wood of the cross - He knew the cost was great -
but He willing came in our place and paid it all - He gave HIS life for us!
Tomorrow is Palm Sunday - the Triumphant Entry - Jesus came humbly and would be treated like a criminal - but in the end - will show everyone just who HE is! The Cross - the Grave - The Life - its all about JESUS!
Lets celebrate JESUS - look for a new edition tomorrow -
GOD BLESS YOU!Daniel

PALM SUNDAY
Matthew 21:15
...and the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that He did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the son of David; they were sore displeased.

Today is Palm Sunday-
Jesus has just made His way to the very city He would die in just a week later -but on this day - the Children cried out to Jesus - for they knew He was the healer - they just knew this was the King of Kings -and this displeased the chief priests and scribes- amazingly - they were too blind to see that this was JESUS -the Messiah on a colt going down the street - they thought He was going to set up rule here -even His closest followers thought the same thing - the people lined the streets and threw Palm Branches into the street just ahead of Him - and some even put their cloaks and coats in the way for JESUS is KING! But little did they know this same JESUS would give HIS life away in just a week -today HE was worshipped and Adored - but soon He would be whipped - spit upon -cussed at and crucified as a common criminal -except Jesus did not do the crime - it was our sin that put Him on the cross but it was HIS love to kept Him there - soon these same people crying out praises to Jesus would cry to have Him murdered - its funny how human nature is - how we can change so quick - The problem for Jesus was that His time had not yet come for Him to rule - no this time He was riding to His death - I have heard JESUS left after this entrance but would come back again- but the next time He would be bound and lead to the slaughter -just like a lamb - This is the LAMB of GOD that takes away the sins of the world-
follow HIM - seek HIM - give your life to HIM
for HE is the only hope for us - HE was born to die-
today He was cheered - soon He would be jeered -
What do you do with JESUS?

welcome to holy week......
MATTHEW 26:2You know that after two days is the feast of The Passover and the Son of Man is betrayed to be crucified.
Today is Monday of a week that will end on Friday with the crucifixion and death of Jesus but next week opens to His resurrection! Before we can get to that point however -we must walk with Jesus to the Cross -to the Grave and then we will see the Life! The road to the cross was not an easy one for Jesus - He had told His 12 closest followers about His soon coming death - and yet they seemed to ignore what He said - at one point Peter rebuked JESUS for saying such things - but sadly Peter misunderstood what was about to happen - all those people on the street the day before - did not understand Jesus was to die for the sins of humanity - they all thought He was going to set up an Earthly Kingdom from which He would rule - but HIS plans went so much further -Jesus came to this place to die - The cross was His goal and when the time was right -Jesus would be tried and found guilty of a crime He never committed - but right now the disciplines still had JESUS with them and all this talk of Him dying was more then they could take - Jesus knew what was about to happen - soon Jesus would be captured as a criminal that He never was - soon everyone would turn against Him - soon Judas would betray JESUS - the time was not right - soon and very soon we will see what betrayal looks like - only a true friend could betray Jesus - otherwise it was not complete betrayal.
Let's walk a little more with JESUS down the road that leads to the Cross - the Grave and the Life....

Tuesday of Holy Week...
Matthew 21:12-13
And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and brought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and seats of them that sold doves, and said unto them: "It is written, My house shall be a house of prayer; but you have made it a den of thieves."
Today's verse dispels what many think about Jesus -many see Jesus as almost feminine - I mean just look at the paints of Jesus - with His clear skin and no muscle tone - with perfect hair and what not - Jesus was not that at all - He was a man's man - He was a man who worked out in the sun - He got dirty and He had muscles - you don't work as a carpenter and not be in great shape- its a plus for that type of work - Jesus had just entered the Holy City and His first line of business was throwing out those who made a mockery of God and of His temple - Jesus did not ask them to leave -He physically made them leave- turning over the tables and kicking them out - some may say Jesus is a mad man for doing this -but as I thought about this yesterday - I realized that JESUS saw this His whole life -HE knew even as a child that there were people making money by cheating those with guilt - Jesus saw this year after year and watched as the temple workers got more and more selfish - He was at His breaking point and it was high time JESUS did what was right and kick them out - now they most likely came back - but things where never the same - the temple would be destroyed some 40 years later -their time would come - Jesus did what He did out of love for His Father - His motivation was to send the message that while GOD is love -HE is also righteous!
Even today people are cheating us by making money off us by dishonest means and those who deny our Savior want our money - but don't want to hear about our Lord - allow JESUS to lead you in what you should do - spread the message of love but if needed - do the unexpected and surprise everyone!

Wednesday of Holy Week...
Matthew 14:1
After two days was the feast of the Passover, and of unleavened bread: and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take Him by craft and put Him to death.
It did not take long for those who opposed Jesus and His message to band together and take Him down - many of these chief priests and the scribes did not agree on most things - but when the subject of this Judaean rebel came up - they looked eye to eye - many of these people sought to kill Jesus quickly and quietly - they did not want to make a scene - but in the end that is exactly what they did - today is the day of preparation - Thursday is the Last Super moving on to Friday which is called good - those who plotted against Jesus thought about killing him during Passover but they did not want a revolt - it had to be at the right time - now the truth of the matter is was not up to man to decided when the time to kill Jesus was - no God already had it all planned out - He knew what the outcome would be - earlier when people tried to stone Jesus to death -He vanished from their sight -for it was not yet time - but now the cross is even clearer - Jesus is now about to tell His disciples the last things before He would die - He gave them simple instructions - such as find the place where the last supper would be - Jesus was saying His final good-bye's this side of His death - the disciples at this point still do not understand what is about to happen - most of them thought Jesus was going to rule here and now - not in the kingdom to come but would be ruler now - however this was not God's plan at all - Jesus knew He came to this earth to die - and that is what HE will do - as we celebrate Holy Week -lets focus on just how much and how far it took for JESUS to save us - it took only one drop of blood - Jesus laid down His life for us - lets prepare our hearts for the rest of this week-
soon Friday will give way to Saturday and then Easter Sunday!

Maudy Thursday...
Luke 22:14-15
And when the hour had come, He sat down, and the twelve apostles with Him. And He said to them. With desire I have desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer....
There is something very intimate about sharing a meal - what date do you know of that there is not a meal involved? What do families do when they get together? They gather around the table - and eating is only part of the whole.
To have dinner with someone - to spend time with them - talking - is one of the best ways you can get to know someone - its as natural as breathing -
With that in mind, Jesus wanted to spend one last meal with His followers before He was to suffer - Jesus was basically saying good-bye - yet even at this hour - the 12 did not understand that Jesus was about to die -they had heard Him talk about suffering - but they did not get the whole picture - Peter the spokesperson of the group - told Jesus that he would follow Him even in death - this statement was true but it was not what Peter had in mind - Peter would end up denying His Master three times - but now the focus was on this meal - this Passover meal- Jesus had participated in many during His years on Earth - but this would be His last until He returns - Jesus knew the hour was late and He knew that one of the 12 would betray Him -the stage has been set - soon the meal will give way to a night of prayer and anguish- of three of His followers falling asleep three times! Soon the religious leaders will bound Jesus and take Him away - the cross is close at hand - lets remember that Jesus knew what was coming -He knew the price that was needed and He was willing to pay it!

GOOD FRIDAY
Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Today is Good Friday - and it is very good - this year I wanted to take a different approach to this day - instead of staying in the gospel accounts of Jesus' death - I thought I would focus on the joy instead of the pain of this day - after much prayer - I began to see and understand that much of the time this day is spent thinking about all the pain and grief Jesus had to endure -the fact that He had to become sin - our sin -and die for it - though never having sinned - ever- the fact is that while this event in the life of our Savior was painful- there was also some joy involved- the joy that Jesus knew HE was going to be saving us from our sin -the Joy that this one act would forever undo what happened in the garden - that we would be reconciled back to God- Jesus saw what the end result of His obedience even unto death would bring - and it was good - As a young child I never understood how anyone can call a day when Jesus died as good -- but I didn't fully understand then - I just thought this man died for no reason -- and people around me seemed happy about it! Little did I know that JESUS laid HIS life down for me - so I know everything I fall into sin - and seek His face - I know that HE paid the price for my sin - we need to personalize it - we need to see that while following Christ can sometimes cause us pain and grief - the joy we get far outweighs it - Jesus knew His actions would save the world -He knew what was required and He never backed down - even at the point of death JESUS asked that HIS Father forgive them because they did not know what they where doing.....

AND JESUS BREATHED HIS LAST...and died.....

3-7-08 DAILY BLUEPRINT:

Not Forsaken

Psalm 27:10
When my father and my mother forsake me,
then the Lord will take me up!

Do any of you feel forsaken? Take that a step further - do you know any one you may have forsaken? Its a normal human thing that all of us have either done or its been done to us - if we trust the wrong person - if you think the move we make will bring us closer only to cause us to fall further apart -you know what being forsaken is all about -
our LORD JESUS was forsaken by GOD the FATHER at the cross - GOD had to turn HIS back on HIS SON because JESUS became sin for us - JESUS Knows what its like to be forsaken - but for us God promises to never forsake us or leave us -HE promises to always be there and we can always trust HIM - when people in your life let you down and walk away from you - God will pick you up! These words fall kindly on my ears tonight -its been one of those days when my emotions have run wild and I don't know where I am or where I am going -its comforting to know in the midst of all this -GOD Is there -and HE is holding me - rejoice children of the Most High -GOD is with you - it may not seem to be true - but it is - beyond those clouds and the dust of this world Heaven awaits - just because you cannot see it -does not mean its not there! Lets remind each other that in CHRIST you will never been forsaken - sure those that you love may walk away never to return and those we put our trust in can harm us and let us down -but GOD never will - HE will never leave us! HE will never forsake us - run to HIM now - HE is waiting for you! Praise HIS Mighty name!

After Words

JOHN 20:19
Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in their midst, and said to them, Peace be unto you....

Yesterday we celebrated the resurrection of our Lord Jesus - today we see again that Jesus appeared to many after He rose from the dead- here in today's verse- Jesus had some after words! What was the first words spoken to His followers after He rose? It was not judgment -but love -It was a simple peace be with you! They were hiding out from the Jews -and they were hidden away - behind closed and locked doors -but Jesus was still able to be with them- the same holds true of our lives- although we may hid behind the doors of our lives - Jesus can still break through - He loves us and He desires we have a close and intimate relationship with Him - He came from Heaven to Earth for that very reason - He knew the cost and willingly and with joy laid down His life - but praise GOD that was not the end of the story - not at all -for JESUS was coming back -and He did - and in the same way HE will return again soon and have His final after words!
JESUS lived - JESUS died - JESUS lives!

He Came Back

Luke 24:39
Behold My hands and my feet, that it is I Myself: handle Me, and see; for a spirit has not flesh and bones, as you see Me have.

The good news of the Gospel is that JESUS came back from the dead - HE came back from what seemed hopeless- as Jesus walked on the road with two men that did not know HE was Jesus - who found it odd that Jesus seemed not to know of the events of the past couple of days - and how this day was the day Jesus was to rise from the dead - they walked with Jesus but did not know it was Him - that is until He broke bread with them - Jesus reveals Himself to us if we chose to focus on Him - the thing about this meeting was that when they found out this was Jesus He vanished - He was gone - He had other people that needed to see Him alive - these men even remarked when the found the truth -that didn't their hearts burn within them - the same is true of us - doesn't the though of Jesus leaving the grave alive change your perspective on things in this life -He came back - just as He said He would - and in the same way He will return again to take His people home - the day is coming when we will be with God forever- so don't let the problems -circumstances and pain of this life hold you back from what God has for you - I know many people who hurt day in and day out - but yet continue to praise GOD and live lives to please Him!
Remember JESUS is coming back soon - He never makes a promise He cannot keep -are you ready? are you waiting for Him? HE is coming soon! Praise be to HIS mighty name!

Breathe On Us

John 20:22
...And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said unto them, Receive the Holy Ghost!

When Jesus arose on the third day - He was seem by as many as 500 people - many scholars who don't know Christ often say that there was drugs or something that caused them to see Jesus - some have said the sorrow was so great they just thought they saw Him - but many were willing to die for Him because they had seen Him alive and had experienced the power of His resurrection - Jesus came into the room that the disciples where in and breathed on them and said for them to receive the Holy Spirit- this was before Pentecost had taken place - the source of all life is JESUS - HE made all things -He has no beginning and He will have no end - everything Jesus did was on purpose -nothing haphazard in His life - and now before HE was to return to His Father there was still some work to be done -without God's Spirit - none of us can do anything for God - not that He needs us - but that HE wants to use us - if we try and do it in our power it will fail and won't bring God the glory He desires or deserves - we must have God's Spirit within the walls of our temple in order to witness to His truth - His love and His power -allow God to breathe on you today - you will never ever be the same! Praise be to HIS name!

Do you see HIM?

Mark 16:14
Afterward He appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with thier unbelief and hardness of heart , because they did not believe them which had seen Him after He was risen!

One of the hardest things to do is get someone else to see something you see - one example from my life was last night - me and my brother-in-law Michael went to this concert and he wanted to meet one of the artists - we had to leave before we could but I got to see them while Michael missed them completely - I could see them clearly - but he could not - and yet we were both in the same place- the same can be said of spirutal things- in our walk with Christ many times we see JESUS clearly -while others don't see Him at all - Jesus had just risen from the dead and many began to say He had risen from the grave and with such good news many doubted it to be ture -what would we do had we been in their shoes -we have the full story - they were in the story as it unfolded - many had seen Jesus die and common sence says when you die -you are gone and you are not coming back -but Jesus always challanged that notion -raising Lazeras from the dead and also the grave of the siants that had gone home were opened -
death is not the end my friend! Today we also can see Jesus in the lives of those who live in faith - in faith that Christ is who He said He was and that HE is all we need - He alone can save us - but do you see Him? that is the question - He is alive and well - He is in His followers -we are HIS church and HiS bride - Do you see Jesus in your life of the lives of others around you - HE is there -but sometimes is very hard to see - take heart brethern - JESUS is alive -HE did rise from the dead and HE now lives in our hearts by faith!
Have you seen HIM? He is there! Believe this and live it!
footnote: Have you seen the wind? We cannot see it but only the effects of the wind - in the same way - we cannot "See" JESUS but we can see the effects He has on the lives of those around us!
Thanks to Billy Graham for inspiring this quote!
