JOHN 17.11
And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your own Name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are (one).

Today we celebrate the vision of a man - one man - a man who was for peace - for equality - for the rights of all people - Martin Luther King Dir was that man - he longed for the day when we would all be one - black, yellow & white -that while we are different - our needs are the same - I need to belong - a need to love and be loved - a need to be heard - a need to be understood - American is such a place where this can happen - the Dream that Dr. King had is still in the hearts of many -as a nation we are divided in many ways - to the right and to the left - where is the middle ground - we can agree to disagree - Dr. King was killed for his belief in peace, freedom and equality - but his dream didn't die with his body - no it continues on even to this very day - tomorrow President Elect Obama will be sworn into office -now you may not agree on much with him - but at the same time we are commanded to submit to those God puts over us in Authority - like it or not - to have a man who is not white be President does bother many people - but we need to remember we are all called to be one - I must inject something right here - the world has one idea of what it means to be one and God has another - Jesus our Lord said He desired for us all to be one - this does not mean that Jesus says there are many ways to heaven - but in this He means we must come into agreement that He is Lord and that apart from Him there is no eternally with Him in Heaven - to be one as God sees it is to bring glory to God and love one another - God has given us no command to hate those who disagree with us or Him - He simply calls us to love others in His name - Dr. King's legacy is alive and well today - celebrate your freedom - and what the freedom fighters have fault so hard for - lets me one like JESUS commands us to be one - Together we can change this world- together under the banner of Christ -we can be agents of change - today - tomorrow and forever more-
Today we salute Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a true freedom fighter! God bless you and God bless America!
