Not Just Today

Ephesians 6:12
For we wrestle not against flesh & blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places....

Today is the day set aside to celebrate the dead - its All Hollows Eve -or as we call it now - Halloween - the day of the dead to many - a day that many dress up and go door to door and say trick or treat -to little children its just harmless fun or is it? My stance on Halloween is that I do not celebrate it per say - I really don't do anything special on this day anymore - I used to as a child - many will have Harvest Festivals at churches and I think that's a good idea - We are told to avoid even the appearance of evil - I am not saying the trick or treaters are evil -they are not - many of the kids have no idea what Halloween means - they just know they get free candy! We are to be the examples to those around us -We must always be the light of Christ to all we come in contact with - if you want to hand out candy - go for it - I have no problem with that at all - if you want to dress up - go for it - but know that this holiday does not honor God - if you do not know Christ please hear me now - please give your life to Him today - the truth is evil is around us every day -not just today - we can fuss about one day a year - but what about the other 364 days? Evil is with us -this is fact - and Paul says we fight a spiritual battle- the world around us does not see! Satan is subtle and before you know he has his claws stuck in your - some say that supernatural activity is the highest on Halloween - there may be some truth to that -the origins of this holiday go back to the Druids - they worshiped many earthly gods - not the one true God - but we are not them! If you want to celebrate Halloween - I don't think you should be judged -its a personal choice - but for me - I don't want to give the impression that I think its great to celebrate Halloween - my main point today is that its not the one day we need to worry about -its all the others- we must be on our guard at all times- believe me -its a war out there!

a side note: I believe we should live our lives each day to honor God -if something seems wrong to us -we need to pray about it and seek what God would have us do - we are to speak the truth -but lets do in it love -please hear my heart today - Halloween is not about the candy -its not about dressing up - and its not about going out in the dark to strangers homes - we cannot dispute the orgins of this day -the bottom line is you must make the call - celebrate it or don't - either way let's honor God!

Inside of us

1st Corinthians 2:12
Now we have received, not the spirit which is of this world, but the Spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us by God.

Our lives flow out of what we live for - if we live for the world and the things of this world -our lives will reflect that - if we live for God and His will -then that will be seen in our lives -which spirit controls your life? If its not God's Spirit then you are being lead astray - God's Spirit in us reveals His truth - without this truth - we cannot know God at all - God has to reveal it to you! God has much He wants to give each of us - we however must be willing to receive it! Its all about faith -believing God is true to His word and living our lives out of that truth - His Spirit needs to control us - Ive been thinking about how some people allow themselves to come under the influence of alcohol - Ive seen it control people - they literally lose control and do things they would not normally do - Paul says not to be drunk with wine but be drunk in the Spirit of God - when we place our lives under the influence and authority of God's Spirit - our lives cannot help but reflect that -I ask a simple question today - which spirit do you serve? The answer not only determines our future but also our present - how can we live for God without His Spirit? The simple answer is we cannot - we must have HIS SPIRIT in us and then we must be willing to yield to Him! Its not what we look like that matters - its not what's on the outside -its what's inside of us that counts! Is HIS Spirit in you?

a side note: We must be willing to live inside out -while the world looks on the outside - God looks on the heart and God's vision is much clearer then ours!

Lessons Learned in the Storms of Life

LUKE 8:23
...But as they sailed He fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the water; and they where filled with water, and were in jeopardy...

This is the last installment of the Storm Series -I have enjoyed doing this series - and it has shown me some things - that I should trust Jesus no matter how hard the winds blow - how high the waters rise or how dark the sky - Jesus is in control -period - but our lives often reflect the truth of our flesh not believing Him! The disciples were very distraught about the storm that day on the lake - and here was JESUS asleep! How Jesus could sleep during a storm seemed strange to these men - but this was Jesus - the Christ - who know full well that He could calm the storm with just His voice - When He awoke - all He had to do was say the word and it was done! This same JESUS lives in us - He came to this earth -suffered mighty storms - and took away the sting of death! Jesus knows the storms you are going through right now and even when it seems like He is not there- He is! You can believe it - there can be calm in the midst of a storm - as I have shared many times before of my fear of storms - I have to admit that its easy to say trust JESUS and much harder to actually do it - I still struggle with my fear of storms - but each time God has seen me through -why cannot I not trust Him when the storms are coming? Its a lack of faith and its not a good thing at all - my wife has no fear of bad weather -when it comes she hops in the bed and goes right to sleep - me? I stay up - listen to the weather radio -flip on the Tv and check things out -these in themselves are not bad things at all -its good to be prepared - but when it controls you -that's the problem -we need to allow the Holy Spirit of God control us! As I have said in the past - the storms will continue to come and we will continue to place our trust in JESUS!
I am thankful He will never leave us - He is with us through the wind and waves - HE is there saying Peace Be still on our behalf!
PRAISE GOD! PRAISE HIM IN THE STORM!

A side note: When the storms of life rage on and on -its good to just curl up and pray - and know that you are in God's hands!
With CHRIST we can be calm in the midst of the storms!

The Storm Series
Lessons Learned in the Storms of Life

Mark 4:37-39
And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was now full (of water), and He (Jesus) was asleep in the stern of the boat, asleep on a pillow; and they awake Him, and said unto Him, Master, do You not care if we parish?
And He arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea "Peace be still!" and the wind ceased, and there was a great calm!

Today's verse takes us from a great storm to a great peace! Jesus does the same thing in our lives when storms come our way - He is in total control and therefore we never have to wonder if He is with us - the disciples faced a great storm - and instead of finding Jesus awake - they found Him sleeping and they freaked out - they asked Him if He cared if they drowned - This was Jesus who had called them - He did miracles and they worried with Him asleep -please note that even when He was sleeping - He was still in full control - God never sleeps -but as Jesus - He had flesh that needed sleep - Jesus had to sleep! But in a boat when a storm was coming -what a bad time for a nap! I think Jesus was just testing them as sometimes He must test us -He will allow the storm winds to buffet us - He will turn up the heat and see where we stand - and notice its not for His benefit because HE already knows what will happen! The storms may come and go but JESUS will never leave you - He has a plan even in the midst of the storm - so when the winds blow- and clouds billow above - when it seems like you will drown - just look up and you will see JESUS standing there -in full control and He is the only one who can clam the storms in our lives - so let the waves crash -let the lightening strike and just trust in the LORD always!

A side note: Since Jesus controlled the water - the elements around Himself - don't you think He can handle our problems?

NAHUM 1:3
The Lord is slow to anger - and great in power - and will not at all acquit the wicked: the Lord has His way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of His feet!

Today's verse says that God has His way in the storms - its all about Him and its not about us -its funny how when problems arise in our lives- we lose focus - we only see the problem and God gets lost in the clouds of our thoughts and we can no longer see Him -the One we need at such a time -we seem to forget about - we are funny - much like Israel was - we run to and from God at various times -when things are going very well -we are apt to forget where we were and where our help came from -but when the storm clouds billow and the bottom falls out and all we can do is hang on - we grip on to Him and then have a tendency to let go when the storm clouds part - and the sun returns - we must not live our lives this way -the main point of it all is we are not holding on at all He is holding us - we need Him at ALL times not just during the stormy times or just during the sunny times- we need Him always - the best we can do is just trust Him - knowing HE will have HIS way come to pass -and we can either join Him or fight against Him -He never gives us - we cannot win any augment with God - HE will have His way - lets just trust HIM during the stormy seasons of this life and soon the clouds will part and we will see the Son!

A side note: The Son is always with us!
With CHRIST we can see the SON in the midst of the storm!

PSALM 107:29
He makes the storm calm, so that the waves thereof are still.

When our Savior calmed the wind and waves when awoken from His sleep- He showed His disciples that HE was the Christ by having authority over the world around Him - All Jesus had to do was speak and the storm became calm - He will do the same thing in our lives -as I said yesterday - the storms will come -if you are not currently in a storm - you most likely have just come out of one or you are about to go into one - rest assured there will always be storms that we need Him to help us with- Without HIS guidance -these storms of life could over take us and leave us shipwrecked -There is no storm that Jesus cannot calm - He knows what its like to be caught in the storm - He knows what its like to be tempted by the enemy - He has been in and through the storm and He has cleared a way for us to navigate through the storm - Yes God could take the storms away if He so desired - but many times instead of taking the storm away - He brings us through the storm - none of us like the trial that the storms bring -we don't like the clean up afterward - we don't like the unknown - we do not want to be caught up in a storm with no way out - God is the only way we can really get through it - imagine what it must be like for those who are lost to get through life's storms - we know this is not our home -tomorrow is not guaranteed here - but God said He would never leave us - lets continue to weather the storms of Life with JESUS by our side! Sometimes He calms the storm - other times He guides us through it!

A side note: In every storm there is a silver lining - we may not see it as the storm wages on - but in the end we can know GOD was with us in the storm!
With CHRIST we can be calm in the midst of the storm!

I have an urgent prayer request for a friend who's daughter Deb is in the hospital in very grave condition due to complications from Lupus. At this point, her immune system is so weakened that the doctors are literally putting out fires. She's developed diabetes and has open wounds on her legs, and is receiving hydrotherapy to irrigate them in hopes to help them heal. Now she's developed pancreatitis. And to make it worse, she's in great pain with pleurisy. Complicating the matter, there is a daily struggle to regulate her blood pressure, which is impeding treatment. Could you please share this with any one/group that you know would be willing to lift Deb and her family up in prayer? Thank you and be blessed!

Lessons Learned in the Storms of Life

ISAIAH 25:4
For You have been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in their distress, a refuge in the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is a storm against the wall.

Today I begin the series on storms - Today's verse talks about the fact that God is our shelter in the storm - storms will come into all of our lives at some point or another- we all have to face storms - the main thing about storms is when you first go in them -it seems like they will never end - they seem to be animus when the storm clouds approach and the wind beings to pick up - you can smell a storm brewing in the air and see it in the sky - billowing clouds above and blackish green darkness beneath - you sometimes can see a storm coming but just like in life -sometimes you don't know its coming until its already unleashing its fury on all that is around it - God allows storms to come into our lives for His purpose and we are always made stronger after a storm- just like the roots of great old trees - trees that have weathered many a storm - their roots grow deep and they grow into the wind - their shapes may say other wise - they are shaped by the wind - but if there were no storms -the roots would not go deeply -and the same is true of our walk with God - He does not want us to be injured by the storms -but He wants us to learn that we must depend on HIM - so when the high winds - hail and lightening strikes come our way -its for our good! The storm cleans the air -it moves things around - and it brings newness to something old - storms have a way of bringing the best out of people -but can also bring out the worst - the one thing you can be sure of is a storm is coming -are you ready - are you trusting in the Refuge from the storm? Lets ride out the storm together- the clouds are forming -lets put our trust in the One who is above and beyond the storms- Jesus our Lord!
Sometimes He calms the storm - sometimes HE allows is for HIS purpose- whichever way - HE will have HIS way!

A side note: The Son is always shining behind the clouds of the storm!
With CHRIST we can weather any storm!

SUPPLIED NEEDS

Philippians 4:19
But my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in Glory by Christ Jesus!

As I write this we are under the gun for some severe weather - as you know next week I am beginning the Storm Series - part of the whole thing is my extreme fear of storms- those who know me know just what I am talking about - I am very weather aware - my says I am too weather aware! She calls me when it looks bad outside and I usually have an answer - I keep up with it - maybe I should have been a metrologist! Anyway - part of my problem is a lack of faith -that's what it boils down to - sure in other areas I do trust the Lord but it seems like this is my life's major hurdle - one thing about this year is we have not had much severe weather- this however has not softened the blow - so I will be short tonight just in case the power should go out -which brings me to my point about the Supplied Needs- God says HE will and when HE says HE will - He will! He will give us the power we need in time of trouble - but we must trust Him - my lack of trust in the area of severe weather is not a good thing - while my wife sleeps right through it - ive got a number of radios - and what not to be prepared for the rough stuff - much of the time I do waste stewing about - I fought a long time to try and say it had nothing to do with faith- but it does- Do I believe God will supply what I need? Do my actions line up with such a statement? We must believe God to be true -or else we live our lives and tell others HE is not faithful nor trustworthy - none of this defines God at all - so we have the problem -let us together let go and let God have His way in your life- my fear is storms (or I should say the area I lack faith in is storms) you may have a different problem -but just like God can provide for me He can provide for you - He wants to met our needs! Trust HIM today and forever more -HE IS FOREVER FAITHFUL! PRAISE GOD!

A side note: GOD wants to met our needs -not our wants!
With CHRIST we get all we ever need!

Today I want add to what was said yesterday - about the weapons of spiritual warfare that we are involved in as followers of Christ- we have chosen sides - and now the battle has begun - satan did not mess with us as lost people much - what was the use in that? I have been studying in Bsf about Jesus and the temptation He faced and a point has come out it that God has shown me - satan did not temp Jesus until the Holy Spirit came upon Him(Jesus) - The whole point being the enemy wanted Jesus to use His divine powers for His human purpose- not the purposes the Father had for Him - in the same way - satan comes at us and wants us to use our human ability to harm God our Father - this comes in many forms - Pride is at the center of sin -its what we want that becomes more important than what God wants - we put our will before His often times - and this allows the enemy to get a foot hold in our lives -we need to be on our guard for the enemy never rests - his sole mission is to destroy our fellowship with God - once we are saved we belong to God and satan cannot have our soul - but he can sure mess with our lives -and cause division -lets remember the battle we fight is not of flesh and blood - but a spiritual battle- God will fight for us if we just place our lives in HIS hands and submit to His will - lets fight the good fight of faith -lets recognize those that try to take the glory away from God - those who try to make the truth a lie and the lie the truth!

A side note: We cannot fight a spiritual battle with physical means!
With CHRIST all battles will be won!

2nd Cornthians 10:4
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.....

There is a battle going on today and every day for that matter -between God's Spirit and the Spirit of Antichrist. We are in a battle for the souls of men and women - the fight is fierce but we already know the end of the Bible and God wins hands down -there was never any doubt- but in the day to day that we face as God's people is a battle that will rage on until (1) God takes us home (2) If Jesus comes before that time! Jesus will come as the rightful King this time and He will set all the wrong right and win the final battle against the enemy of our souls - this enemy wants to steal -he wants to kill and he wants to destroy you and me - God's people - his mission is to take us out of the fight and render us helpless -this will happen if we do not stay focused on JESUS and continue in His ways - of prayer - of reading the Word (which by the way is called the sword!) We must fight the good fight of faith that Paul has talked about - we must never let our guard down -for satan is like a roaring lion -ready to devour us - one area in which satan loves to destroy is in marriage -if he can get a strong hold in your marriage - he will try to turn us against each other - and this also goes for our sisters and brothers in Christ- satan's main aim now is the family - if he takes out the family - he takes out much of the fight -while many are trying to stand on traditional values -others have perverted the true intent of marriage between a man and a women - I touched on many subjects today - I want to continue on tomorrow with part two -the next verse-
Be on your guard Brothers & Sisters in Christ!

In The Person Of Christ

2nd Corinthians 2:10
To whom you forgive any thing, I forgive also; for if I
forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes
I forgave it in the person of Christ!

Whatever we do in Christ's name - we do representing Him - our Savior! We must act according to His Spirit that now resides in the heart of a saved follower of Christ - Paul wrote these words about the forgiveness we have in Christ -He laid down His life to pay our debt - a debt He did not owe but was willing to pay - and pay it in full He did! The actions that we as Christ followers do when we obey God's Spirit- are given to us through the person of Christ -without Jesus shed blood -we would be most hopeless and life would have no meaning at all - but to be born -live and then die - Christ has so much more in mind for us - He wants us to submit to His Authority -He wants to see how far we will go for Him! Our actions flow out of a personal intimate relationship with Christ and cannot be obtained any other way - when we do it in our power -we don't do what we are called to do - Christ wants to come into our lives and change them - He wants us to be willing vessels for His use! All this is in the person of Christ!
Through Christ we can in fact do all things! Phill 4:13.


A side note: We cannot live for Christ if we don't even know Him! We must know Him first and then from our lives will flow the fruits of the Spirit - if we are not attached to the VINE we will writher and die - do you have the life of CHRIST in your heart? Or are you treading water on your own!?
With CHRIST our lives are forever changed from the inside out!

God never changes- HE is the same today -tomorrow and forever more -God does not need to change- HE knows all -HE sees all - and HE made it all - we cannot teach God anything -He already knows it all -and while He never changes -He does change things -HE can take your life as it is now and make it completely different - and in a way we do not expect- Maybe you are going through something you just don't understand and it seems like there is no way out- God is the only way out! He knows what's gonna happen before it happens -He sees it all at once- beginning and end - He knows what you are going through as HE came to Earth as Jesus Christ and felt pain -He felt what its like to tempted - He knows what it is to suffer- the good news today is you are not alone! HE is with you - no matter how bad your circumstances - HE never changes but He can and will change things! HE wants us to trust Him no matter what our circumstances are or look like -HE is our all in all -He is there! He is stable and He is able to change things in your life!
He is God and nothing is too hard for Him! Just put your trust in HIM and HE will provide the answer - it may not be what you are looking for or what you want - but if you wait on HIM - He will make a way where there seems to be no way! HE is our FATHER GOD - the CREATOR - the LORD OF ALL!
PRAISE HIM TODAY!

A side note: Circumstances come and go but GOD never leaves us!

If you know JESUS there was a time when you did not know Him -and one day changed it all - one day we went from being lost and without hope to having a redeemer who took our sins away and gave us life and peace and hope - one day we woke up without Christ and the next we awoke to a new life in Christ- for some of us that been many many years ago- and some of us have forgotten what it was like to be lost - we now know JESUS and our lives are vastly different -it all changed on that day that Jesus reached down and rescued us from death - the sting of death has been taken way and we no longer need to fear death - for we have been made alive in CHRIST and HE has made us into new creatures. Our past is forever gone -buried by His blood and are chains are gone. Sometimes we forget just what took place- we forget just how much it cost Jesus to bring us this life saving salvation- sometimes its good to look back -to see the cross -to see the nails to see the blood - so that we do not get complacent in our lives - lets remember the day we were saved - on that day our lives were forever changed! Amen!

A side note: Where would we be without Christ?

Don't Resist

Acts 7:51
...You stiff-necked, and uncircumcised in heart and ears, you do resist the Holy Ghost: as your Fathers did, so do you....

Stephen spoke these words to those who wished to kill him -he spoke the truth -for many even today deny and resist the Holy Spirit. Soon after these words were spoken - these people put Stephen to death by stoning him - his response was to look up and see JESUS! Even in death Stephen was a strong witness for the Lord Jesus Christ! Do we have the same problem as those who denied and resisted the Holy Spirit? I have to admit in my life there has been times the Holy Spirit had called me to do something and I resisted - I did not want to go out of my comfort zone or get hurt -we always worry about ourselves and our needs -this is not correct- we have been changed -redeemed by the blood of JESUS -we should be and must be different then the world around us - we must be willing to take a stand just like Stephen did - the cost is high and the workers are few -the harvest is ready to be taken in - are we ready to get into the fields and plant seeds of faith? Many of us are caught in a world that includes just our families and their needs -without going outside the walls of the church of our home - God is leading me out of this - I have to no longer resist HIS SPIRIT for He wants to do something in my life and in yours - He is calling us - are we willing to go?
We cannot resist God's Spirit and be blessed- it does not work that way -God blesses us so that we can be a blessing to others...Don't resist the life blood of JESUS In your life- HE came to be a man - without sin and died a criminal's death for you and me! Lets serve JESUS with a heart full of passion and compassion! The world around us waiting for us- lets take a stand today and everyday for Christ our LORD! Amen!

A side note: If we resist the Spirit continually we will grown hard and our life will no longer reflect HIS glory.

DID NOT STAGGER

ROMANS 4:20
He (Abraham) did not stagger at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God.


In the Word there are many examples of strong people of God who followed God no matter what the price was..Today we have Abraham in Romans - Abraham believed God and the Word says it was accounted to him as righteousness - God wants people who will follow Him when the going gets tough - many have left their first love when things got tough - many don't want to suffer so they deny Christ and live a life of easy -many are caught in their comfort zones and don't want to do what is hard but many times just what is needed most - we must be more then fair weather fans of Jesus Christ -we must be His no matter what our circumstances look like - its easy to say these words but much harder to live them - Abraham did not stagger -he did not waver either -he held onto the promises of God - and he believed - God can see right to the center of our hearts and He knows what we feel inside -this is one reason He became a man to live just like us so HE could see it from our perspective. Lets look at Abraham's life and compare it to ours today - do we believe God no matter? Or do we follow only when the results will be what we wanted - God knows better -that's the bottom line - lets not stagger in our faith -lets follow JESUS at all times!
He leads and we must follow! Do not stagger!

A side note: When JESUS asked Peter if he too would walk away - Peter said "where would we go--You have the words of Life!" let's stay close to JESUS!

CAN'T HOLD US BACK

ACT 28
(Paul)Preaching the kingdom of God; and teaching
those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ,
with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

Try as I may -I ended up with a passage from the same book again! God knows far better what HE is doing then I do! Amen!

God has given us power to preach the gospel -He has created in us a new heart so that we could go out and spread the good news- it reminds me of the group Newsboys and one of their early albums called Going Public- that is what God is calling us to do -to bring the light to those living in darkness - to show the world our LORD through our actions and love for each other and those outside the church -those who do not know JESUS CHRIST need to see HIM in us - we must allow Him to be seen in us - Its a challenge to think that people are watching our actions but they are watching and we must be willing to do whatever God calls us to do - Paul did not let people's opinions get in the way of preaching the gospel - Paul was not worried at all because he simply trusted Jesus and believed what HE said! Do we believe like Paul? Or do we let others hinder our walk and witness to the world around us - Paul had no one come against his preaching at this point -this was not because Paul had anything to do with it - it was God's Spirit that took over for Paul and no one can win in a battle against the Holy Spirit - Lets be as God calls us to be - alive witnesses of HIS Love- HIS truth and HIS grace - the world around us is looking for the Savior - won't you bring them to HIM?

A side note: Whatever we do - we must remember others and God are watching - we have an audience like it or not!
With CHRIST our lives reflect the truth!

CLOSED EARS, EYES & HEARTS

ACTS 28:27
For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart. and should be converted, and I should heal them.

Today I begin again how this ministry began - it simply was me praying and then going to the Word and using whatever verse God picked out - now I also enjoy doing the series -but sometimes I don't want to be limited to just one book - I will go back and forth -but this is my heart today -do go through the Word of God and then write on the verse God has picked - the verse that perks my interest- one that speaks to my heart!

Today's verse just shows us the world has not changed much at all - as God says in HIS WORD that nothing is new under the sun! Today we have the same problems they had way back when Acts was written - near the end of the book we hear of those who have closed off their ears and eyes and closed their hearts to the truth of God's love found in Christ- they also have closed their hearts to His grace -this free offer is for all - none are left out of this offer - but some choice to walk way from God and never ever look back -others may not know HIM now -but soon they will -there is always hope - we too who know JESUS can sometimes close our hearts -close our eyes and ears and forget what HE has done for us- we can begin to take it for granted and miss many blessings in the process - we must have open hearts and minds - we must be willing to see things from HIS perspective - we must listen closely to what He has to say - and not close our lives off to God -the God who made us knows us and loves us and wants us to begin a personal relationship with HIMSELF through HIS only SON JESUS!
Open your ears and hear all that God has given us - hear the cries of the baby Christ in the manger- hear the prophets and all they have to say - open your eyes and see all the beauty that God had made - whether a night sky or a tree - then open your heart and let God in and HE will change you forever-
Open ears, eyes and hearts is what we need!

A side note: God gave us ears to hear -eyes to see and a heart to know HIM!
With CHRIST we are open to the TRUTH!

Pat needs SERIOUS, prayer from everyone who will PRAY FOR HIM. The * Gangrene* is back again, it has been less then 9 months. I am EXTREMELY WORRIED, because it is back, and there is not much to cut. Pat has gained the weight back again, from so much body fluid build up, that he is at 400 pounds, and his heart is really having to work hard.
Facts are facts, when we leave for Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga again, that he
may not return back home to us, alive and recovering again. We are leaving via ambulance today and Kevin & I will be staying with Pat in housing provided. The Daily Blueprint 10-5-07

A WALK THOUGH MALACHI -5 part 2

MALACHI 4:5&6
Behold I will send Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: and He shall turn the hearts of the Fathers to the children; and the heart of the children to their Fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

Today we end the book of Malachi - ive much enjoyed this series -from here on out unless lead otherwise -I am going to move on to doing a different verse each day - and then near CHRIST began to go through Matthew - by the way this years CHRISTmas series is going to be called: Unto To Us...stay tuned!

The end of this series and book ends on a stern note with a possible curse placed on the Earth if Elijah could not change the hearts of man - just like when man turned his back on God - man turns his back on each others- we all have been guilty of this from time to time - God wants us all to be one -but we allow petty differences and appearances separate us from our Brother and Sisters in Christ -we allow music styles and worship styles to take way the unity Christ longs for. Some however have taken this too far and include those who deny Christ and the truth has been watered down - on the one had those who are caught in false religions need to hear the truth of God's love for them - we are all the same - we all must come to the cross the same way - we all must one day face the judgment seat of Christ. Lets embrace what we are similar in - our love for CHRIST should bind us together- and the rest will fall into place so long as we put CHRIST first and others before ourselves -this is impossible in our flesh - but now the Spirit of God dwells in us - He can do what needs to b done -we just need to get out of the way - there should be unity in the body of Christ -Jesus says He longs for the day when we all are one .. that day will come if we stay in the truth and not water it down -the truth is the truth - and we must remember that!
Lets seek to walk together in our journey of faith in Christ

A WALK THOUGH MALACHI -4 part 2

MALACHI 4:4
Remember you the law of Moses My servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments.

If we love GOD we would follow His commands - but sometimes our flesh gets in the way and the flesh has no desire to please God at all - all of us have our eyes on our needs- and all have asked what is it in for them - many times in marriage or in church -people want the other people to change- but they do not want to change- to have a great wife -be a great husband -to be a great follower of Christ- follow His commandments- some feel that those law are old testament and therefore we are not required to obey them -but the truth is that us obeying the Law cannot save us -but its the measure God has given us to show us our failure- no one but Jesus has kept the whole law - some do well in some areas all the while failing at others -some have said you fail on commandment - you have failed them all - Jesus had a hard stance on the law and He is God's Son - so we know the Law is not just old testament stuff -but its required today to obey God's law! But never think that by obeying the law (trust me we cannot keep the law!) that we "gain" salvation - this is not the way it works- We could never "earn" salvation -but its a gift given by God through His Son - this is the only way we have right standing with God - but God wants us to keep the commands He gives us - not to save us - but to keep us in His will - if we are not living for God and doing what HE says - we are not in fellowship with Him! Lets not forget the law - its still valid today - but its not the end all - JESUS came and died for us to give us access to Heaven and to His Spirit- lets never get to the point of thinking we deserve to be saved- lets just obey God!

A side note: How can we say we love God when we do not do what He says?
With CHRIST the Law is fulfilled not nullified!

A WALK THOUGH MALACHI -3 part 2

MALACHI 4:3
And you shall tread down the wicked; for they shall have
ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that
I shall do this, says the Lord of Hosts....

When you trust JESUS there will be some times when amazing things will take place- things our minds cannot comprehend - one example is the fact that we will rule with Him - isn't that amazing? Today's verse talks about us treading down the wicked! Wow - this is another amazing truth - the enemies of God will not last forever -one day their dominion against God will end -they will be cast into utter darkness - their reign will be short! God is undefeated and no one can defeat HIM! He is our Sovereign King of all - the creator of all - the sustainer of all -without Him this all would be no more -we are in HIS hands and in HIS care! To think that one day we will trample down His enemies with HIM! To think that one day we will rule forever with God! Puts things in this little ol world into perspective- we worry about this and that here - we put so much stock in the things this world has to offer- we begin to lose our focus on the things of God -the enemy knows how to distract us - lets keep our focus -lets live the life for Christ our Lord - lets give all we have to HIM! He owns it all! If you don't know JESUS then you will not rule with HIM - you will not trample down HIS enemies -for you will be among them without HIS saving grace- our sins cause us to be God's enemies. Lets put our faith - hope and trust in the CHRIST alone!

A side note: TRUST CHRIST
With CHRIST we can do all things!

A WALK THOUGH MALACHI -2 part 2

MALACHI 4:2
But unto you who fear My name shall the Sun (Son?) of righteousness arise with healing in His wings; and you shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall...

If you notice in today's verse I have a question about the use of the word Sun - and the fact that when you read this you think about JESUS the Son -this is why I've got the question mark - I like to think of this Sun as the SON of GOD not the one that rises in the East and sets in the West- if you read the rest of the verse you can see it must be talking about JESUS! One reason I believe this is that only Christ can make anyone righteous -however this is an old testament book and maybe that is what it alludes too - Jesus comes into a life and changes it from within - and once this takes place we are never the same - Jesus wants to arise in our hearts- He wants to take our life and take it to a better place- He wants to use you - He wants you under His influence at all times -we must live by the Spirit of the living God if we want to serve Him - we cannot do this on our own - it takes the Son to come in and change your life -to set you free and pardon all your sins - only the Son can do this - and while the Sun gives us light - Jesus gives us so much more - He is the light of our lives -and HE wants to shine in our lives for everyone to see -He did not call us to keep our lights hidden! Let the Son arise in your life today!

A side note: There is no light apart from the SON!
With CHRIST Righteousness rises in our hearts!

The Daily Blueprint 10-1-07

A WALK THOUGH MALACHI -1 part 2

MALACHI 4:1
For, Behold the day comes that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that comes shall burn them up, says the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.


Today's verse is not a happy verse- I say this because its a serious matter- this verse deals with those who completely deny Christ and have rejected His offer of blood bought forgiveness. Through the Word we know that the world as we know it will one day end- it will be no more- that's because this is not our home - our home is to come - we are not there yet- those who choose to reject Christ will spend forever apart from Him -even the thought of this is unbearable - there are times on Earth when we think God has left us - but He has not - we panic if He answers our requests at what we think are slow or incorrect- but He is always faithful - and His ways are better then ours- the future of those who reject Christ is very bleak- there is no hope without the blood of JESUS applied to their lives- they will not only have to endure hell forever -they will suffer while still alive - God longs for everyone to come to Him and accept His offer of forgiveness that leads to eternal life- God is not being slack on His return -but is waiting for as many as possible to come to know Him before its too late. We have the promise that once we hand our lives over to Jesus - we have forever with Him to come - its by His blood that we have this offer - maybe you have been given this offer but have rejected it - the good news is its not too late- you can still give your life to Him and HE will make you a new creation - so long as you have air in your lungs you have a chance to be saved! Why not take GOD as HIS word and take Him up on His offer- just ask JESUS to come into your life and save you- admit to Him that you are guilty before Him and that on Judgment Day if you were apart from Him you could not stand - admit He paid the price on the cross for your sin and mine and then give yourself to Him!
Praise GOD!

A side note: The sun can burn you -but the SON can keep you from burning.

With CHRIST We are forgiven -set free and redeemed!
