THE NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER 2007

PSALM 86:1-6
Bow down Your ear, O Lord, hear me: for I am poor and needy.
Preserve my soul; for I am holy: O You my God, save Your servant that trusts in You. Be merciful to me, O Lord: for I cry unto You daily.
Rejoice in the soul of Your servant: for unto You, O Lord, do I lift up
my soul. For You, Lord, are good and ready to forgive: and
plenteous in mercy unto all that call upon You. Give ear,
O Lord, to my prayer; and supplications.

I thought today I would just let God's word speak to you - nothing really to add - today is the National day of Prayer -a time set aside each year to pray for our country and its leaders -we are to join together in one accord - we are to come to God humbly in prayer - we are to present our requests to HIM and He will answer us -
Prayer is the fabric of our faith - we must daily go to God and pray - for without this time with HIM - how can we know HIM intimately? We must have a constant time of conversation each day with God - on this day won't you spend time in prayer for our Land - for our soldiers in far off lands - our leaders and those in office-
Its time to get on our knees- to be proactive by coming before the LORD-
Our Nation needs your prayers -lets go to God with our requests and seek HIS face and HIS will - God bless America -and God bless you! Let us pray!

Meet At City Hall on National Day of Prayer, 2007
"Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord..." Psalms 33:12
Today I invite you to participate in
Meet At City Hall from 12:20 pm to 12:40 pm during the National Day Of Prayer. At thousands of city halls across the country, individuals will gather to pray for a moral rebirth in our country. The National Day of Prayer is an annual event established by an act of Congress which encourages Americans to pray for our nation, its people and its leaders.
Your participation in
Meet At City Hall is very simple. Simply show up at your local city hall at 12:20 pm on May 3. There will be others present. Spend the 20 minutes in prayer.
Let us unashamedly take our Light from underneath the basket and set it on a table.
Sincerely,
Donald E. Wildmon, Founder and Chairman
American Family Association
P.S. Please forward this e-mail message to your family and friends!
As American troops wage the War on Terror, fighting for democracy and liberty around the globe, citizens of the United States are preparing to celebrate their freedom to gather, worship and pray. Millions will answer the call to prayer on May 3rd in observance of the 56th annual National Day of Prayer (NDP). Organized events will be held in thousands of public venues where intercession will be made for our nation, government leaders, media, schools, churches, and families.
This year's theme, "
America, Unite in Prayer," is based on 2 Chronicles 7:14: "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." National Day of Prayer Task Force Chairman Shirley Dobson, wife of Focus on the Family founder and chairman Dr. James Dobson, said "At this crucial time in history, with our armed forces engaged in a desperate struggle in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere, we encourage all people of faith to set aside their differences and publicly seek God's wisdom and direction for those in harm's way and for our homes, communities and country. Our founding fathers recognized the power of prayer and gathered regularly to ask for God's blessing. We can do no less."
Esteemed author and pastor Dr. Charles Swindoll is the 2007 Honorary Chairman and will address the national NDP event in Washington, D.C., to be held at the Cannon House Office Building. To highlight this year's emphasis, Dr. Swindoll has released a new edition of his book, Intimacy with the Almighty, which provides personal insights to guide people on their journey of faith. In addition, gospel music sensations Ernie Haase and Signature Sound have recorded "I Pledge My Allegiance," NDP's stirring 2007 theme song.
Be part of this culture-changing event.

Thousands of prayer events will take place on May 3rd around the country, from Washington D.C. to Mount Rushmore to Hollywood. With your help, we will continue to witness God's faithful gathering across the nation and see lives, cities and ultimately, America changed for the better. America's heritage of faith will be restored, and a passion for prayer will be rekindled. The goal is larger than life - a God-sized goal - which can be accomplished through prayer.

Get Alone And PrayIn the message "The Courts of God" we saw how the presence of God is to be cherished above all else. We considered that not even a thousand days in an earthly paradise can compare to a single day in the presence of God. And yet, though we may understand the value of His presence, we seldom make the decisions or exercise the discipline required to enter.Luke 5:15-16"The news about Him spread all the more, so the crowds of people came to hear Him and to be healed of their sicknesses. But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed."Jesus had a relationship with the Father which can only be described as absolute perfection; "If you really knew Me, you would know My Father as well. Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father" (John 14:7,9). We long for and desperately seek the presence of God, but Jesus Christ IS the very presence of God: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us" (John 1:1,14).And though He had perfect union with the Father, created the entire Universe, and demonstrated complete control over the elements of nature as He "rebuked the wind and the raging waters" (Luke 8:24), Jesus still made time to be alone with the Father in prayer. Why?Prior to the important decision of choosing His twelve apostles, Jesus "went out to a mountainside and spent the night praying" (Luke 6:12). On the night before He was crucified, Jesus was in such anguish that He prayed until "His sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground" (Luke 22:44). Jesus, through His life and death, taught us how we ought to relate to God...and it's a lesson we must not ignore! If Jesus, who is Perfection, demonstrated such need of prayer, how much more necessary is it for us who contain so many flaws and so easily drift away from God. We cannot wave our hand to calm the storm, we must pray for patience and the strength to endure, and relentlessly ask for His help. We are to live in such constant communion with God that we "pray continually" (1 Thessalonians 5:17), even as we drive in busy traffic, manage multiple assignments, or care for noisy children. But each of us must also set aside time, which is "often" and regular, where we can withdraw to a quiet place. Yes, the presence of God can be found in the midst of our busyness, but we all need times of quiet where we can be refreshed and receive direction - times when we can simply lift our hearts to God and say "Thank You!" Let's develop and maintain the discipline of entering the courts of His presence. Let's regularly set aside times of quiet to get alone and pray.Have a Great Day!Steve TroxelGod's Daily Word Ministries*****************************************************Archive of previous devotions : http://www.gdwm.org/archive07.htmSubscribe/Unsubscribe by email to closerwalk@gdwm.orgSubscribe via web: http://www.gdwm.org/subscribe.htmFeedback and Prayer: http://gdwmboard.org/6/ubb.xSend Invitation: http://www.gdwm.org/invite.htmVerses and Psalms: http://www.gdwm.org/versesSpanish Devotions: http://www.gdwm.org/spanishMail from GDWM is only sent to those who subscribe (free of cost) orby invitation from friends. All Things Through Christ!

Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain to build it! (Psalm 127:1)

For every house is built by some man. but He that builds all things is God! (Hebrews 3:4)

YOU ALSO, LIKE LIVING STONES,ARE BEING BUILT INTO A SPIRITUAL HOUSE ACCEPTABLE TO GOD THROUGH JESUS CHRIST(1 Peter 2:5).
Make the Word your bread. Let it dwell richly in you. Have your heart full of it. Feed on it. Believe it. Obey it.~ Andrew Murray

If we understood what happens when we use the Word of God, we would use it oftener.
