atonement-part5-the high price of sin. . .

Romans 6:23
For the wedges of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord!

Before our conversion we were lost and did not know God - and yet He formed us in our mother's womb - He knew us before we were born -the Word of God says that HE knit us together - He knows all about us - more then we even know about ourselves -and He knew that sending HIS Son was the only way for the world to be saved - Today's verse says that the wedges of sin is death -this is so true- it was the first sin in the garden that brought death to the human race and everything on the Earth - nothing here will last forever- speaking on the subject of things of this world not lasting -I thought about how earlier this month the temps were in the mid to upper 80's - but last Tuesday we have severe weather and a cold snap followed- and all the plants around this area have suffered- its hard to believe that one day they were flourishing with new Spring growth -only to have a deep freeze late in the season come and take all that away - that is the same thing sin does- we may go along for a while enjoying some sin for a season -but the price for what joy we think it brings us - is very high - it cost JESUS HIS Life and not only that - it cost us intimacy with God -its true all our sins are forgiven when we allow Christ to come into our lives and save us - but still sin in our life costs dearly - how can we be an effective witness for Christ if we are caught up in sin - we must deny ourselves and follow HIM - Be thankful that JESUS was willing to die for us -our sins placed HIM on that cross but HIS Love for us kept HIM there - HE had every right to come down from the cross - after all He never did anything wrong - but HIS mission would have failed if HE had done that - God is Holy and HE must punish sin - He cannot just forget about it without the shedding of blood - the blood of the perfect Lamb of God!
Lets rejoice in the fact that JESUS died for our sins - making us right with the Father - but lets not forget what a great cost our sin comes with - death - and this price must be paid but JESUS and if not we must pay it - and that means eternal separation from God forever- there is no second chances once we leave this place- this is what the atonement was all about - JESUS became Sin for us - yet knew no sin - He never sinned one! That's the LORD we praise! Amen!

A SIDE NOTE:
SIN ALWAYS COSTS SOMETHING NONE OF US CAN PAY ON OUR OWN! JESUS PAID THE PRICE FOR OUR SINS - THE PAYMENT WAS IN HIS BLOOD! PRAISE JESUS!!

1st Peter 1:18-19
Foreasmuch as you know that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver or gold, from your vain conversion received by tradition from your fathers; but with the precious blood of Christ, as of the lamb without blemish or spot!


Our salvation does not have a price other then the life and death of JESUS our LORD - HE paid the price in full -as we have seen during this past Holy Week and Easter Sunday -we have gone from the triumphal entry - to the last supper and on to the cross - and to the tomb - finally we celebrated our LORD rising up from the dead - leaving the grave clothes behind - Death could not hold HIM!!
We cannot buy our salvation with the things of this world- money is worthless at forgiving sins - only the spotless lamb of God could bring us what we could not bring to ourselves- Salvation cost JESUS His life- it was very expensive - the riches of this world pale in comparison and are passing away - but what God has done through the LAMB lasts forever - once we come to know HIM in a personal way - our lives begin to change- we become more and more like Him - through no effort of our own -its not about us - we could not do it - only JESUS could and HE did just that for you and me -we have been through the last week of Jesus' life and we have seen HIM heal the sick -and confuse the wise- He has embraced the humble and rejected those full of pride -JESUS came to save us - and His mission is now complete - Are you washed in the blood of the LAMB? He wants to save you today - The tomb is empty - JESUS is risen! You can be too if you would ask HIM to save you today - the atonement of JESUS CHRIST is seen in our lives - our actions all in worship of our LORD and SAVIOR!HE LIVES -CHRIST THE LORD LIVES!AND HE WANTS TO LIVE IN YOU TODAY!
PRAISE HIM FOR THIS!

GOD BOUGHT US TO HIMSELF THROUGH THE SON-
WITHOUT THE SON -THERE WOULD BE NO FORGIVENESS
JESUS SAVES - HE WANTS TO SAVE YOU - WON'T YOU COME TO HIM TODAY?

LUKE 24:7
The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day RISE AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Darkness had fallen on the Earth when Jesus breathed His last. . . . move forward to Sunday morning - those who loved Jesus mourned His death many thinking all that had been said was just wishful thinking -even the women who came to the tomb on the third day - thought the Body of JESUS was taken and their best plans ruined - but this was not the end of the story - We are here today following Jesus because it was true- JESUS was no longer there- but had been RISEN from the DEAD!
TODAY is the DAY of DAYS! JESUS lives today!
CHRIST went to the cross and to the grave but rose again the third day!
OUR HOPE RESTS IN THIS TRUTH!
The pain of Good Friday - the hopeless of Holy Saturday all brought to us the good news of CHRIST being raised from the dead on Sunday!!!!
All seemed a loss when JESUS was on the cross - many had run away thinking all their hope was gone - the followers of JESUS hid themselves- the government believed they had taken care of JESUS one and for all - they thought He was just a hoax- but whoa!!!! all that changed come Sunday morning - JESUS rose from the dead - and now lives! Because HE rose we too will rise again! Our end with our last breathe is not the end - we continue on somewhere - and there are only two choices - Heaven or hell - there is no middle ground - today of all days - if you don't know JESUS why not ask HIM to save you today - YOU will then RISE & SHINE - you will be risen from the dead - you are dead in your spirit if you don't know JESUS -
HE came from heaven to Earth - became a man of all things and died for you - He was buried and descended to hell for you - and on the third day rose again!!! THE GRAVE COULD NOT HOLD HIM!
TODAY THE LORD HAS BEEN RAISED!
You can be raised to new life too - just trust JESUS to be your LORD and SAVIOR and HE will save you - join in the jubilant celebration today - because a child of God -what better way to celebrate this day!?
JESUS was killed - buried but in the end HE Rose again!
REJOICE REJOICE!
HE IS RISEN!
OUR HOPE LIES IN THIS TRUTH!
JESUS LIVES!AND NOW WE CAN TOO!

JOHN 19:40-42
Then they took the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury. Now in the place where He was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden was a new tomb, where no one was ever laid. There they laid Jesus therefore because of the Jews perpetration day; for the tomb was right at hand.

Today we celebrate Holy Saturday -the day Jesus descended to the dead to take on satan and his regime - Jesus won the battle down there and also the battle of the tomb - As I was praying yesterday afternoon this thought came to me - Jesus had become a man so He could die for our sins -otherwise no one could have taken His life- which by the way was laid down -no one could take HIS life in reality! Jesus had just been killed- His now lifeless body was moved to a tomb near -by - because the Jews would not allow any bodies to remain on the crosses after sundown since it was Passover -Jesus suffered and died for us - HE gave HIS life so you and me could live with HIM forever- Jesus told one of the thieves that he would be with Jesus in paradise- this same massage is for us who have accepted His free gift of salvation - Jesus was placed in a new tomb in a garden - He was placed there with dignity and care - His followers were always close by - they would suffer for JESUS as well - but that will happen much later- right now it seems like JESUS has been defeated and another rabble-rouser has been put to death and out of the way - still the authorities placed guards at the Tombs door and rolled a large stone to keep Jesus' followers away from taking the body - those guards got a surprise the day after that when JESUS will conquer the grave and hell - He will have completed all that was needed to save us all - JESUS our LORD laid down HIS life to save us!
This Holy Saturday -lets celebrate HIS Life and remember HIS death!
For the SON will rise soon! Rise and Shine for JESUS today-
JESUS was gone three days - but HE never left our side -His death brought us life- lets spring forth in praise tomorrow for JESUS will rise again!!!!!

ISAIAH 53:5
For He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed!!!!!

Today is Good Friday - the greatest day of all time, well next to Easter Morning when we celebrate the resurrection of our LORD and SAVIOR JESUS the CHRIST! There would not be an Easter Sunday without a Good Friday or Holy Saturday - all go hand and hand - I must confess this week as I have searched the scriptures to find just the right passage - its been a hard search - but not today!! When I grabbed the Bible and opened the pages it fell open to today's verse- the interesting thing about this is this verse always runs on Livin in prayer- so its been featured every time ive sent out this prayer email - however it takes a whole new meaning today!
JESUS was killed because of HIS love for us and our Sins caused Him to come from Heaven to place HIS life on the line for us - Many of you have seen the Passion - and you can see just how much JESUS suffered for us - but He did suffer just to prove how tough He was - there was purpose in His sufferings- they were first and foremost God's plan - The Mission of JESUS was to save that which was lost - that is just what He did-

Today we remember His Sacrifice- He was nailed to the cross around 9am in the morning -after an all night beating and judgment- He was sent to judge after judge - and people made a mocker of Him - He had no sleep and nothing to eat -He was beaten so hard that He was hardly recognized as the same JESUS who used to play and teach at the temple as a child -who healed the blind and sick and demon possesed - This was a blooded man - but God's son! He was innocent but the rulers deemed Him guilty - He laid HIS life down - the Cross - an alter - the Cross -where JESUS saved the lost -Jesus saw the cross from day 1 - He knew one day would come and HE would die on that cross - and I am sure as a child Jesus saw many crucified and knew it would be Him up there on day - JESUS willing went - no one took HIS life from Him - He took everything He had and laid it down on the cross -without the cross - there would be no Savior and without a Savior there would be no hope for the lost -all of us are like sheep says the next verse - we all go astray - Jesus died for us knowing we would still sin against Him - and yet while we were yet sinners Christ died for us - around 3pm Jesus breathed His last breath . . . . . . . . . .

Luke 22:15b-16
... With desire I have desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer; for I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God!

Jesus is getting ready to take the long walk to the cross- the Passover dinner is His way of saying good-bye to His 11 disciples -they have spent 3 years with JESUS - and He is now ready to leave them - He knows the cross is being prepared as He prepares to say good-bye - Jesus has just washed the feet of His followers- and Peter - in rare form - at first says for JESUS not to wash his feet- but when JESUS tells him he must- Peter responds with a request to have his head and hands cleaned too - Jesus was serving them one last time -before HE was to die - He heard the call of the Father and Judas has gone out to turn Jesus in - Jesus knows this and takes each moment and savors it - He wants to teach His followers one last thing - He says to Peter that he will deny HIM three times- He tells that one of them is going to turn Him over to the authorities to be killed - Jesus knew the time was at hand - and nothing short of the Father changing His mind would Jesus not die - JESUS was willing to do whatever it took to save us!
He suffered for us - He was willing to do this - He reminds His followers of the call to be His - a call that means we must live the life at all times - we may and sometimes will suffer for following Jesus but its worth it -
lets walk still closer to the cross - Jesus will soon be tried and committed to death for no crime at all - they say blasphemy -but since JESUS is GOD'S Son this is not possible- but the mission is to be competed and nothing was gonna stop this from happening - its time - JESUS is ready - lets head toward Good Friday and beyond - we must be ready to RISE and SHINE in all that we do and say - the day draws near - Lets remember JESUS!

The morning before the Passover - JESUS was getting ready - HE had much to do and very little time - the cross could not wait - the time was right - JESUS did this for you and me -praise HIM!

because CHRIST we can know what it means to serve others!

RansomMARK 10:45For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister,and to give His life as a ransom for many!Jesus came not to be served but to serve others -He came to minister to others and not to receive anything in return - Jesus came as a servant of the most High God - God in the flesh - the God of all creation serving man - what a strange way to save the world - a song by 4HIM has said -Jesus also came to die for the lost -for the sinners - He came to lay His very life down -He showed us the example - HE is the example -He lived the perfect Life without sin!He was tempted just like us - but never once gave in! We should pattern our life after Jesus -We need to trust HIM to live in us to produce the fruit of righteousness - that on our own is only filthy rags - Many times in the church today we seek a church that will help us -Without thinking about what we can do for others -We are all a part of the body of Christ - and all of us if we would only look - have a place in which to work - to work at saving souls with JESUS!Without Christ - no one can be saved -It took His life and death to bring us salvation!Never forget those wonderful words of President JFK - "Ask not what your county can do for you - but ask what YOU can do for your country!"The same concept needs to be in the church of today - we need to be seeking a place in which to plug into - to be of use to others - to show JESUS to the lost and to live the life!Lets remember we are all in the same boat -JESUS brought us salvation - lets bring it to others! Lets live our faith in action!---------------------------------------------------------------Through Christ we can serve with grace!____________________________________________

Luke 9:22
. . .The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day!

Today I want to talk about the purpose of Jesus coming to this earth - in this verse Jesus tells His followers and anyone else who could hear that He must die - He must suffer and He must be buried only to rise again on the Third day - I did not get a count of how many times the followers of Jesus heard Him say this - but it was at least 5 or more times - Jesus kept saying it over and over and yet it still was a shock when He laid His life down - this whole season is about what JESUS did for us - He came so far and stopped so low to save us - no one else could do what JESUS did - no way - no how! Jesus came because of Love -His Love for the Father - which by the way is in perfect unity - between Father - Son and Holy Spirit - and He has no beginning and no end and to top it all of is outside of Time - He stepped into time and into the world He created so He could save us - no one has gone father to save us - and no one else can save us - only JESUS and HIM alone!
Jesus had one mission in mind - to save that which was lost -along the way toward the cross -JESUS ministered and healed many - He did many miracles to show the world HE is God! There is no one else like JESUS - He is one of king and the only one worthy to pay the price of our sin debt! We must understand the pain JESUS went though for us did not begin at the cross -but 33 years before that -He was born in a barn in the middle of nowhere - during a highly violent and political time - He came just at the right now to save the world- Jesus had this plan from the beginning and knew He would have to die for those who were lost -Jesus suffered many things on the way to the cross - He had to become a man of all things! He had to come into time - He had to become a part of His own creation - but yet HE did all that for you and me - He deemed us worth saving - He saw the promise of the Father and obeyed Him perfectly -lets take more steps toward the cross - its coming into view! Jesus is coming - the King is coming! Jesus is coming!

If you want to really follow JESUS then you must go through various trials - you must accept any and all pain that you receive and you must not do it by your own power! Lean on JESUS - the One who came from Heaven to Earth to save our souls - PRAISE HIM TODAY - amen!

because CHRIST came to this world - we can be saved!

JOHN 12:32
And if I, if I be lifted up from the Earth, will draw all men to Me!

Jesus fresh from coming into the city of Jerusalem on a donkey -thus fulfilling prophesy of the Messiah - Jesus began to tell the people what was going to happen to Him- many thought He would defeat the Roman government right then and there and take up the throne of David! Many thought Jesus would be the conquering King written about - He is and Was but not like they thought HE would be - they expected a ruling Earthly King - but what JESUS really was is a humble servant - God's Son- and King of Kings but a servant - JESUS said HE came to serve and not to be served - as we continue this walk toward the cross -we will see just what all He is saying right here means- If HE be lifted up from the Earth - He will draw all men to Himself -this same call goes out today - Jesus Our Lord was Lifted up HIGH on the CROSS for our sins - HE laid down HIS life for us - His mission (Which we will go into more tomorrow) Was the save the lost -to save us - if you know JESUS today - its because HE was lifted up for you and now you know this awesome truth - soon Jesus would pay the price- His riches for our depravity - He has everything and was willing to die to give us HIS grace! This series this year is called Rise and Shine - first we must remember that because JESUS rose -we will rise too -and because of this truth and the truth that JESUS now takes up residence in our hearts by faith - we will also shine for Him - During my week of God has really been speaking to me about loving others -you see you can be ministry and not really love- this is a hard saying but true - we must love first -because HE first loved us! JESUS gave HIS Life so that we could rise and shine for HIM - its not about us - its all about HIM - join me won't you in this walk toward the cross - we will see JESUS as the servant and ruling KING He is - we will see Him humble Himself many times on the way to HIS death - but this is not the end -come SUNDAY - JESUS will conquer even the grave!Lets Rise and Shine for JESUS!HE died for you -won't you live for HIM?

We rise and shine because JESUS walked the road to Calvary - with one thing in mind - saving you and me! Praise GOD!

Part 1 : HERE COMES THE KING!

JOHN 12:12-14
On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, took branches of palm trees, and went forth the met Him, and cried "Hosanna: Blessed is He that comes in the name of the LORD!"


Yesterday morning during our church's worship service a lady sang a song called THE KING IS COMING - this really inspired me - and I felt lead to make this the lead-off devotional for the Holy Week and Easter - We are moving into the final weeks of the LIFE of JESUS! His life as His followers knew would be over soon- I thought today we would start with Palm Sunday even if today is Monday - you must notice I am a day behind this week due to bad weather in our area - which reminds me of the power of Almighty God - amen! As we continue toward the events of Holy Week- lets follow JESUS - lets see the steps He took the cross and beyond - this week we are to focus on JESUS and just what HE did for us -
there is so much to say - that I really don't know where to begin then the triumphant entry - our LORD and SAVIOR came into Jerusalem - riding a donkey - we would not think much of this - but the bible scholars of the day and the religious leaders knew the prophesies surrounding the Messiah - and here was JESUS riding on the donkey and all these people - and children running up to worship Him - laying down palm branches - clothes and anything else to show JESUS they loved Him and worshiped Him as the King - but some must have thought JESUS was coming to take the throne - we all know now HE already a throne that was much higher then any earthly one! But JESUS came to die - this shocked many - and its funny how on this day JESUS was being worshiped as the King of kings and a few days later these same people - will call for His death! Jesus came in the claim HIS victory that has become our victory - JESUS did not act like the religious leaders wanted Him to act -and this dying stuff was more then they could understand - they had an attitude that if JESUS says HE is going to die - we can help Him -they wanted to overthrow JESUS and yet JESUS did not want to take the throne in Rome - His mission was to die for us- to give up His life for ours- we must lay it all down for JESUS - palms and all -and follow Him to the cross and beyond - as we leave this scene of jubilation - we must not forget why JESUS came - it was not to celebrate - it was to die - lets follow JESUS down to road and up the hill to Calvary - and beyond!WORSHIP THE KING - THE KING IS COMING! AMEN!

In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace!

With Christ we are all on level ground - we all must come to HIM the same way - all we have apart from Him is our sin - our sin has separated us from Him! He opened the door to us through the Son - this blood bought redemption\ comes totally from Jesus - He laid His life down as payment for our sins - He has brought us forgiveness of all our sins - His grace brought it to us - its not something we deserved - it was not something we could earn - it was not something we got because God saw something in us worth saving - No! Its all about JESUS and what HE did for us - without HIS sacrifice - we would have no hope - and there would be no future for us - as it God has changed what would have been our future - we are the blood bought children of God - He allowed HIS only SON to suffer in our place -this is hard to wrap our minds around - but its the truth - the atonement for our sins has been made by Jesus Christ - HE wants you to know HIM today - lets celebrate our adoption into HIS family - maybe you are an orphan and don't know HIM yet -no worries - you can know HIM today - take the time right now and pray this simple prayer (or something similar - the words are not magic -its all about your heart)-God I admit to You I am a sinner - I admit that without Your free gift of Salvation I would be lost and heading to hell when I die - but because of YOUR great love I believe you sent JESUS to save my soul - God I give you me now!
In YOUR name!

Welcome to God's family - if you prayed that prayer and meant it - then God has saved you - please note it may seem like nothing happened - but just trust GOD - He will open new doors for you - Today is the day of salvation!

1st John 4:9-10
In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him!
Herein is love, not that we loved God but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation of our sins.

Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ came to this world with one mission in mind - to die and become the payment for our sins - but not just for our sins - but according to the Word -all sins - everyone's sin is covered - but they must choose God's way and not their own - the atonement is useless if you refuse to accept Jesus as your Savior! He did what He did for everyone - His blood - one drop -can save a multitude! There is no one beyond the reach of God - many in this world today want to gain favor with God by their good deeds -there are many religions based solely on works alone for Salvation - God did not make it that way on purpose -He did not want us to earn our way - He knew our sin had taken a hold on our lives and He knew that only JESUS could save us from our sin and cause us to live a righteous life -maybe you are walking your own road -a road that does not lead to JESUS - maybe you think your good deeds with gain you access to God and HIS kingdom - the correct way to live is to do works because you know God not to get to know HIM - we cannot gain Heaven apart from JESUS - if you have walked away and have not looked back - you will miss the fact that God is following you - take a moment today and pray - seek God's face if you know Him - if not - ask HIM to save you today! There is nothing more important! You could gain the whole world and yet lose your soul -and you will be lost for all eternity! The Son has come - won't you take HIM at HIS word and be saved today!?

A SIDE NOTE:
Don't allow the enemy or the things of this world keep you away from God - HE is waiting for you - He loves you and made a way for you to be saved! Trust HIM today!

1st John 2:1-2
My little children, these things that I write to you, that you sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: and He is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world!

Today we begin the section on Atonement- what this is - is the fact that sin costs so very much -from the very beginning sin took life away -that is what it does - Sin causes death - and if you don't believe just take a look around - none of us will be here forever- we all are leaving one day - our sins must be atoned for before that time -who or whom have we places our trust in? If we put stock in the things of this world -we are leaving them far behind - if we are searching for something other then JESUS -we will be disappointed - in each of us there is a God-shaped hole that only He can fill - we may try to fill it with other things - but this will never do - our sins cost us so much - it cost Jesus His very life! He was willing to go all the way for you and me - He died not just for our sins - but the sins of the whole world - HIS offer is open to everyone - He died when we still were sinners and did not know the truth - He came so far to save us - If you know HIM rejoice - if not - please pray and ask JESUS to come in and save you - HIS atonement for our sins paid the price in full! He became sin for us! The Propitiation is simply what JESUS did for us - HE become our substute-We deserve what HE endured - HE did it all for us - HE came down so far to take us up! He came from Heaven where He was at complete peace forever and ever -HE was willing to come on down to save us - HE would have done it for just one of us - He would have done it anyway! JESUS is LORD and in that HE knows all things- He has made a way for us to enter into HIS presence - and a way to be saved from our sins - the Atonement has been completed - its just up to us to take HIM up on HIS offer! Are you willing?

A SIDE NOTE:
The OLD TESTIMENT shows us a picture of our LORD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST - the animals were scarficed for sins - that atonement was given year after year - JESUS only had to die once and be rose again! HE CAME TO SAVE US!

For many are called but few are chosen.

Many times Jesus in His many parables said that there are many who are going to be called but few will take Him up on His offer of salvation - many will try and find another way - many will deny God completely - and still others will try and earn their way - but the truth is apart from Christ there is no salvation - only hell - we cannot have it both ways - we either follow JESUS or we do not follow JESUS - the choice is ours - God did not make us a robots that just obey HIM -that would not bring HIM honor at all -He wants our trust and worship - He longs for a relationship with us and He has given us a way - some feel the way of JESUS is too easy -but its really death -death to our old way of leaving (which is a good thing!) Death to our old ways - our past is gone and our unredeemed time has past - we now belong to JESUS and if you have accepted HIS offer - you belong to Him now - and your life is no longer your own - Jesus said the fields are white and ready to harvest- but the workers are few - He is the LORD of the harvest and of you and me - He knows the choice we will make before we even make it - God knows best - He has given us HIS Son - He has opened up access to HIMSELF to us - we should not be able to even approach HIS throne but His mercy leads us there and enables us to come in contract with God! God said He would never leave us nor forsake us - so if you belong to HIM today -rejoice - if not then come in - come in and see that GOD Is good and HE wants you to have HIS grace- the offer is there -will you take it?

I hope you have enjoyed this series on Election -its been interesting to see what the WORD has to say on this issue - tomorrow we move on to Atonement!

GOD CALLS AND ITS UP TO US TO RESPOND!

Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied!


We are almost done with the election part of these devotionals, we will move on to atonement soon - but today -we talk again about election - we have been elected by God to be saved through the blood of JESUS - we must understand that this offer is really open to anyone -for all born of a woman have sin - passed on from Adam - Jesus was born of a virgin so that this sin nature would not be passed unto Jesus - He is just like us but still most unlike us! We are just like Him but really so much unlike Him in our natural state - God could not just ease up on HIS laws - if so He would no longer be GOD - HE is Holy - He has every right to take us away to hell forever but HIS mercy and grace stand in the way all because of JESUS and HIS sacrifice for our sins that brings us into right standing with the Father - the sprinkling of the blood goes back to the animal sacrifices of the old testament - they sprinkled the blood of the goats and lambs on the altar - in the same way JESUS was our sacrifice on the Altar- His blood that poured down -saved us and gave us the election from God - the only way I can understand this is in the light of the fact that God sees all eternity at once- before we were born He already knew if we would follow HIM or not - thereby the election came - but don't misunderstand me - we must note that we are not voted into salvation- God foreknew all this and at the same time has given us a free will- this is the part I struggle with - but that's ok - I plunge on - God is so good to us - He made away for all to be saved - but the sad fact is so many will be lost forever-- this is a horrid thought that is really true - our mission is to spread the gospel -what are we doing to get this done? We are HIS elect since we know JESUS - without the Holy Spirit drawing us- we all would be lost -God made a way for you in me - its in the SON and HIM alone!

A SIDE NOTE:
We are saved not by our works -not by our natual birth - and not by our nationality - we are all saved only by JESUS! HE elected us by HIS blood - rejoice in that today!

GOD KNOWS ALL - WE NEED NEVER FORGET THAT!

God's offer of salvation through Christ is open to all - many of the world think that Christians are close minded bigots - but this is not the true Christian at all - for we follow Christ since we have heard HIS call and responded - some claim to know Christ and yet don't know Him at all - all you can gage on is their fruit - if its not being produced - then its likely they do not know JESUS like they think they do -Jesus calls out to us and we must respond to Him - these words from Revelation - Are near the end of the whole Bible- and we must take note of them - God says for us to come to HIM - HE says the call has been given - and are we willing to come to HIM - HE wants us to enter into an intimate life-changing relationship with Himself through HIS SON! The call continues today - Do you remember when you where called by God to come out of the world and enter into HIS grace? I am thinking a lot about that these days - since tomorrow I will celebrate 14 years in CHRIST - I was just thinking that I am unable to fully comprehend or even explain just what GOD did - but HE changed me from the inside out - I am not sure what day it was but since St. Patrick's day is one of my favorite Holidays and since it was in the month of March 1993 - I am pretty sure it was sometime that same week - the point is I was called and I answered the call - and it was not by my might -this is not to pat me on the back but to bring glory to JESUS - HE called me - and He is calling you - will you respond today or just walk away unchanged? God wants to change you - to restore you - to bring you back to HIMSELF! That is what HE wants most - you!
Come on in -the water is fine! JESUS wants to save you - won't you allow HIM to take your life and make it new? He wants to take your old sins and change your future from hopelessness to hopefulness! PRAISE GOD! Come to HIM today!

A SIDE NOTE:
God makes a simple request of us - to come to HIM - HE will met you where you are - after all He is everywhere and is not limited by what we are limited by! GOD IS GOOD!
Won't you come to HIM today?

God is faithful, by whom you were called unto
the fellowship of His Son Jesus Christ our Lord.


Fellowship with JESUS is of utmost importance- many know HIM as Savior -but how many know HIM as Lord - you see JESUS can save you and you are on your way to heaven -but then you can (But it would be foolish) go back to living like nothing happened and still be on your way to Heaven - since we are saved by God's grace alone - but you would not have a very fulfilling life and your witness would be nonexistent - God did not come all the way from Heaven just to save us - He also came to bring us back into fellowship with the Father - Our fellowship with God was severed in the garden when God's only command was broken - since that time man has tried to make himself right with God - the fellowship God calls us into - cannot be made up and it cannot be faked - we can fake people around us - but never God - for HE knows us to the core - He knows we are all like sheep that go astray - He knows that left to our own devises - we would be bound for hell -
God in HIS infinite mercy has called us into fellowship with HIMSELF and with others who follow HIM - we are all a part of the Body of Christ -and all of us are important - from the janitor to the pastor - we all matter and all count in the body -all of us have different talents and God wants to use us as we are - we cannot all be feet or ears - we cannot all sing in the Choir or teach Sunday School- we must be in our places - the place God has called us into - Fellowship with HIM and with others!
Let's take our place in the fellowship of God - we will be in that position forever!

A SIDE NOTE:
GOD DID NOT MAKE US TO LIVE ALONE - HE WANTS US TO BE IN FELLOWSHIP WITH OTHERS AND WITH HIM - GOD MADE US TO BE DEPENDENT ON FELLOWSHIP!

GOD HAS CALLED US INTO A FELLOWSHIP THAT WILL LAST FOREVER!

Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death -but the gift of God
is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord!

Sin causes death - period- before sin entered into the picture - there was no death -only life- in CHRIST there is only life as well - but apart from Him there is no hope at all - we are at the mercy of God - The wages of sin must be paid - we all come into the world owing God so much - we took HIS gift and wanted me - we were in Adam and Eve when they sinned- now again I cannot quiet understand such a thing but that does not mean its not true - God gave man everything - everything but the tree of good and evil- man wanted the one thing God said he could not have - and thus the bill for sin began to add up - JESUS our LORD came from Heaven to die in our place- and He paid the bill in full - its all about HIM and not about us - God's mercy is great - but without the knowledge of His righteousness - the mercy of God loses some of its punch - we must put it all together- God is holy and He demands our obedience- and HIS SON JESUS was totally obedient - if we know JESUS we have HIS SPIRIT in us and not only that we also are forgiven of all our sins - while our righteousness is filthy rags - He gives us HIS instead -and we can now have the relationship with GOD that JESUS purchased! The wages of sin must be paid - the payment is death - God told Adam and Eve if they disobeied HIM they would die - and because of that we die - but praise GOD its only a physical death - we actually live on forever in HIS kingdom -what a day that will be when we see JESUS face to face - our sin debt has been paid in full - JESUS be praised!

A SIDE NOTE:
When you go out to eat - you are expected to pay the bill when it comes to your table- and if you don't there are consequences- you may have to wash dishes or worse yet- the police may be notified - sin is the same way - when we choice to sin - we forget about its great cost- the wages of our sin is death -period! JESUS paid the price in full - praise GOD!

LIVIN IN THE WORD - FRIDAY - 3-2-07
Sin separated us from GOD - JESUS brought us back!

The Daily Blueprint 3-1-07

depravity #2- man's foolishness, God's grace!

Titus 3:3-5
For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. But after that the kindness and love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost!

I have not used the book of Titus much at all - but after reading today's verse- I can see this book is very valuable - it shows the foolishness of mankind and the grace of God - God has shown HIS grace on us - not because we could earn it - but because God loves us -and He knows without HIS offer and acceptance of grace - all of us would be lost for all eternity - once we accept HIS free gift - HE takes us as HIS own - apart from Christ we have nothing that would get us to heaven- only HIS grace that has been extended to us - God knew we needed saving and once we know HIM and HIS ways and follow in them -our lives are changed from sinners to saints - its not anything we have done nor was it anything we could do - we could not save ourselves by good works -they would never been enough - the only solution is JESUS!

When we are reborn through the regeneration of the Spirit- we become new creations - this is something ive been wrestling with for some time - One thing I am trying to come to grips with is the fact that once we are saved - the old man dies - but then why does the old cravings in our lives still exist? I know my flesh is weak and sinful and evil - but CHRIST lives in me now -so those old desires should die away - my flesh has been crucified in CHRIST and has died - but the flesh keeps on keeping on until we leave it! One day soon beloved - we are going home - only God knows the hour or time - We are lost without HIM and as the days go on and on -we have less time to bring others to HIM! Lets remember how far God had to stoop down to save us and show the same mercy to others -
Man can be foolish -but GOD is always merciful!

A SIDE NOTE:
SINCE CHRIST DWELLS IN US NOW - SIN SHOULD LOSE ITS GRIP ON US!

LIVIN IN THE WORD - THURSDAY - 3-1-07
Sin separated us from GOD - JESUS brought us back!

Romans 3:23
For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. . .

There is no way around today's verse - Paul states the truth plainly - all have fallen short - all of us have sinned - all of us without Christ would be lost and heading to Hell - this is harsh reality - Christ is who saved us - and redeemed us - not by our works - but by HIS grace- This verse gives man no wiggle room - it makes it clear that on our own we would be without hope - We are depraved in our own flesh-but Christ has given us a new name- we are of the redeemed - we no longer are hopeless -Christ gave His life not only to forgive our sins - but to bring us back to the Father- our sin is what kept us away and its been washed away by Jesus - We only bring our sin to Him - that's all we have apart from Him and there was nothing in us that God saw worth saving - that was until He looked down from Heaven and saw the depravity of mankind and knew the only way for man to return to God was for God to return to man and become a man - I have to admit I don't understand how such things can be - but God said and I believe it!
We would be without hope had JESUS not died for us - He had a choice you know but HE choice our salvation over HIS comfort - God loves us so much HE gave - He gave HIS only Son - The price was high but HE was willing to pay it!
We all are sinners without Christ -but with HIM we now become Saints - its not by our behavior- but by God's mighty life-giving grace! We did nothing to deserve being saved - He gave all to save us - and we are now HIS - we were once sinners but now we are saints -this is the good news! Praise GOD!

A SIDE NOTE:
Our righteousness has been called filthy rags- that's all we have since the fall - but here comes JESUS to save us and the day - HE laid HIS life down for you and me - and now - Praise HIM -we are HIS children! We have been redeemed! YES!!!!!

in CHRIST we that once were sinners are now saints!

LIVIN IN THE WORD - WEDNESDAY - 2-28-07
All we bring to HIM is own sin - but HE Brought to us HIS righteousness!

WHO WE ARE IN CHRIST
Part 26- We can do all things!

Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through CHRIST who gives me strength!

Today's verse is one of my favorites in all of scripture - It rings so true in this day and age- when the world is pulling us one way and God wants us to walk toward HIM - the pull of this world can be great - but God is stronger and in the end HE will win! Having CHRIST Living in our hearts by faith makes our lives His - all that we do we do for Him - He is always with us - He says He will never leave us - He is our supplication! He is our life! and in HIM we can do all things- notice this verse does not say some things- or even most things -it says ALL things- let that encourage you today - sometimes we get weak from life -we get to a point where we feel we are gonna fall out - its at that time GOD will lift you back up and set you on solid ground - There is nothing at all that we cannot do in and through Christ! I like to couple this verse with John 15:5 - where God says that apart from HIM we can do nothing - this is so true - before CHRIST our lives were much different -we had no purpose - we had no meaning -but now CHRIST is all we need! We can do all things through HIM - He gives us HIS strength - Paul says that when we are weak- HE is strong - He wants us to put our trust in HIM and leave it there -when HE says it - we must believe it - We have power that is other worldly - power that the world does not understand - we now belong to CHRIST and HE is our strength -and His strength never ever ends! Celebrate this today while keeping your eyes on JESUS the author and finisher of our faith!

A SIDE NOTE:

WHO WE ARE IN CHRIST
Part 25- We can boldly approach HIS throne!

Ephesians 3:12
(Jesus) whom we have boldness and access with
Confidence by the faith of HIM!


The week away from the ministry has been both restful and helpful but at the same time it took me out of my routine -which for the most part is a good thing -however Ive got to get back into practice of writing this each day - I begin again with the Who we are in CHRIST series - There is just one or two more devotionals in this series - if you forgot where we left off please email me and I can send you the whole series - soon I hope to get series burned to dvds to ship out - pray for this - thank you!

Today's verse talks about our access that we have with God - God not only gave us HIS Son to bring us into right standing with Himself -He also opened up heaven for you in me - to one day enter in and right now we can pray right into the throne room of God -what used to separate us has been bridged by God - He wants to have an intimate relationship with all HIS children - that is why we can boldly go to HIS throne and ask anything of HIM and if its according to HIS WILL and PURPOSE HE will give us the answers HE knows we need - We have full access to God the Father -He listens to each of our prayers - and He knows what we have need of before we even ask- There was a time when God's creation was cut off from Him - it all started at the beginning with one choice that lead to many other choices - all in the wrong direction -JESUS came and changed all that and now because we belong to HIM we have been given full access to the Throne room of God! Lets not take this lightly -but acknowledge it and use it each and every day - the lost do not have such a connection -they are cut off from God - so God has opened the doors for us to come on through- because of this we need to go out and preach the gospel with our lives so that those around us will also have this full access!
We have a great blessing in this access - we are HIS children and as such we can come in and sit right down -We are HIS adopted children -we have full access and all the rights! Lets take time today to praise God for this access and use this for HIS glory! We have to enter in through CHRIST to do this! Lets do it!


A SIDE NOTE:
God knows all -HE sees all - and He knows and sees our beginning and our end all at the same time - who knows better what we need than HIM? Let's enter in today!

What's love gotta do with it?
Part 5- While we were yet sinners. . .

Romans 5:8
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that,
while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us

The good news of the Gospel is this - Jesus died while we were still lost in our sins- even before we were born - Christ died for us - and we did nothing to earn this - we did nothing to prevent our sins from sending us far away from God - all our life we could never do anything that would bring God's grace to us without HIS help - He drew us by HIS love- this is the greatest love there has ever been - Jesus did not die when we cleaned up our act and He did not die when we became worthy of His death -no HE died while we were yet sinners -this is what grace is - unmerited favor - we did seek Him - He went after us - He loves us so much His Son was sent to make us right with Himself! Our minds simply cannot fathom such a thing - we live in a world where things that are too good to be true often are just a scheme - what CHRIST did for us was no scheme but the truth - you see apart from Christ and His shed blood -we are headed to hell- we would die in our sins - Paul said that if Christ did not die for us we are dead in our sins and our faith is in vain - but we know the truth -CHRIST died for us while we were still sinners in our sins- and He goes after sinners today - we who have come to JESUS are now forgiven and set free - the cross stands as the proof and our changed lives - only JESUS can take a sinner and make them a saint! Praise JESUS for HIS Mighty love that gave us life and life everlasting! Now that's love!

A SIDE NOTE:
Today we end our series on What's love gotta do with it - I hope you have enjoyed this as much as I have - Love is the whole reason behind what I do each day - Love should always be our motivation - Christ loved us so much HE died for us - He wants us to share that love with others -I have to admit Ive been challenged these past couple of days with that - it is not our duty but should be our life! lets love each other as CHRIST has loved us and gave HIS life for ours! Praise our Father God!

Tonight me and my wife Missy attend a marriage weekend at our church- please pray for us and the 20 other couples as we seek God in our marriage-

What does love have to do with it? It was God's love that motivaged JESUS to give HIS Life for ours - He gave it all - that's what love has to do with it - Everything!

Part 4- Continuing in HIS love

John 15:9
As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.

When GOD sent HIS SON to save the world -HE did it because HE loved the world so much - after all He created it and all things - He made the Earth just so - and life flourishes on this planet- and very likely the only place in the whole Universe that has life -we will never know because its too far away - but even that God created - His motivation for all this was HIS love for us - He wanted to have a creation that worshiped Him - but not one that was forced to worship HIM - but one that was willing to listen to HIM and obey - He made us in HIS imagine and gave us a choice in the very beginning to either follow HIM or not - It was up to us - now the choice has been made and we because a fallen race - that was until JESUS came and brought us back to God the Father - without the blood of JESUS - we would not be children of God in Christ! Since all of us have witnessed God's great love -we are to continue in that love- this means to love each and everyone God allows to come across your path -this is not up for debate -we are to love everyone - no matter there name or what church they go to - if at all - we are to spread the love of JESUS every where we go and where we got is always with JESUS - He will never leave nor forsake us - He has shown us HIS great love -lets continue in that love - the lost world around us will know we follow CHRIST by our love - are you all about love?
JESUS has given us this command - love others as yourself and love HIM above all - I have a shirt I love to ware it says - Love all - WORSHIP ONE! amen!

A SIDE NOTE:
I read a devotional yesterday that said love is paitent - kind and does not puff itself up - and then it asked if we had those qualites of love - this was a hard pill to swallow - but we are defined by our love for one another and for others- our lives should be all about love in all we do - we can do many things for Christ but without love its worthless - He has given us HIS mighty love- let's spread it around !

What does love have to do with it? Love should be our motivation to serve JESUS!

Part 3- Loving our enemies

Matthew 5:44
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;


The call of Christ on our lives is one of love - God's love for us shown in HIS SON - the Son's love for God the Father by being obedient - and our love that goes back to Jesus for being our Savior - God loves us and He proved it and continues to time and time again- God loves and nothing can remove that love from us - since we have been loved -we are called to love others - and these others are not just the lovable - they are not just your family members- Jesus takes it so much further and is very radical when He says that we should love our enemies! This goes against every grain of our flesh - our flesh does not want to love those who wish us hard- this is a hard saying - one that we simply cannot do without JESUS - Its easy to love those who will love you back - but JESUS says for us to love even our enemies - in essence we once were enemies of God - and He had to send HIS SON to pay the price for ours sins - without this -we would be lost and without hope and would remain the enemies of God - I know its hard to love those who persecute you - but time and time again ive ready stories about people praying for their captures - and stories of guards coming to know CHRIST because of the willingness of those being capture and tortured never turning their back on JESUS and showing love even while being inflicted - Jesus says that HE first loves us so we must love others -and because JESUS died for us and given us all we need - we have no excuse not loving others -and this includeds our enemies -
On this Valentine's Day - love everyone - no matter what they do to you - this is not easy - no mark that - its impossible in our flesh -but when we live out of the Spirit we can do it by HIS power - amen! Lets love like JESUS - and those who hate us may come to know JESUS as LORD and SAVIOR like we do!

A SIDE NOTE:
IS THERE SOMEONE IN YOUR LIFE THAT YOU DON'T LOVE? OUR HEARTS SHOULD BELONG TO JESUS AND JESUS LOVED US WHEN WE WERE HIS ENEMIES - SINCE HE FORGAVE US - WE SHOULD WANT TO FORGIVE OTHERS -LETS ALLOW GOD TO CRUCIFY OUR FLESH AND ITS DESIRES AND LIVE LIVES OF LOVE FOR EVERYONE!

What does love have to do with it? It was LOVE that motivated GOD to save us!

Ephesians 3:17-19
That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and height: and to know the love of Christ, which passes knowledge, that you might be filled with all the fullness of God!


We who know Christ as Lord and Savior - have to know the love He give us - its a love that Paul says passes knowledge- passes understanding -our minds simply cannot comprehend the love of God in Christ- we don't fully understand this love -we cannot until we see Jesus face to face- when He reveals it all to us someday - we will then understand -but until that time we will struggle to actually understand the Love of Christ Jesus - His love is greater then any other love -His love is eternal - we all have a limited view down here - we feel we can only love a few people -while God commands we love all people -since we know JESUS we are grounded in rooted in our faith in JESUS - and with this faith comes love- love for God and love for others- as Valentine's Day approaches many begin to focus on love- our love is not like God's love -but the world will know that we are Christians by our love- does love identify your life? Have you allowed the Love of God to rule you? His love transcends all barriers that man has set up - His love will never end and nothing can separate us from His love - God loved us so much He sent HIS SON to die in our place- how can any other love compare to that -God came down to pay the price- The blood that poured out of the Lamb showed just how much God loved us and how far He would go to save us - lets love others because God loves us -
He wants all to come to know HIM and He wants to use us - lets love like JESUS!
His love is in our hearts and must come out for all to see!

A SIDE NOTE:
If JESUS has saved you - then you have HIS love inside of your heart- the trouble is many times we allow it to become trapped and we keep it only to ourselves- God wants us to spread HIS message - the message of Grace in love -its our love that will compel others to find out what we are all about - we should be identified by the love we show each other and those around us! Lets love and love and love some more!

What does love have to do with it? It shows the world that we belong to CHRIST JESUS

Part 1- What God gave . . .

John 3:16
For God so loved the world He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in HIM shall not parish but have everlasting life!


The Words of John 3:16 ring so true when the subject of love comes up - this series is devoted to showing just what love has to do with everything - God is love as His word proclaims - He created us and love us -therefore HE sent HIS only Son to die in our place for our sins - to bring us back into right standing with Himself -there is no greater love - and that love should fill our hearts with praise for our God and King! We should love one another because God first loved us -the world will know we belong to JESUS by our love -we must love each other and also love those outside the walls of our church -we were not called to sit in our churches and celebrate JESUS and just sit there- we have been called to leave our comfort zones and shed the light and love of JESUS to the lost and dying all around us - I can be sure that each day we all are brought around people who don't know Christ -God has places us where we are to show the world around us HIS love -we are HIS messengers and its out of love -not obligation that we serve our Lord- real love comes from God - we live in a hate-filled world- its time the church stands up and shows God's authentic love - many have made a bad name of Christians by judging the world- that is not our job -we have been called to love those around us who need to hear this life saving message- we have it in our hearts- the love of JESUS is in us - lets move aside and let the Spirit of the Living God come out and shine a light on this dark and dying world -the world needs JESUS -and we have Him -
What's love gotta do with it? Everything! amen!

God loved us when we were unlovable - is there anyone in your life right now that could use the love that you have inside? Maybe you have differences with someone -maybe you dislike someone very badly in your life- those are the people God has placed in our path for HIM to love through us - lets surrender to JESUS and let HIS love rule our lives - God is Love- and we have that love- let it come out!<><

WHO WE ARE IN CHRIST
Part 24- We are crafted by His hands!

Ephesians 2:10
For we are HIS workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them!


God does not make mistakes and neither does He make junk - all of us are created in His image- from the smallest child to the oldest person in the world- either the famous or the infamous - all are created in HIS image- we as humans do not like to concentrate on that -we want to seem better then others -we have our pride to contend with me -and most of us if we were honest -like the feeling of being better then so and so - but we are all the same in CHRIST - we are all HIS workmanship- and all of us are works in progress - none of us have arrived - we may be better in one area but not in another - God made us all a little different -what a boring world it would be if we were all alike - God loves variety - so He made is to look differently -speak differently -think differently -but yet we all have to come to CHRIST the same way - by the Cross! God created us in HIS image - and therefore we all have value - we all matter to God and He does not a single one of us lost -He wants all to come to HIM - for HIS arms are open wide - He created us for good works- HE created us to spread the message of His love - He knows what HE is doing -no matter what is happening right now - God is in control and He has created us for HIS purpose -while most of us want to live for our purpose alone -we need not forget that God created us and we belong to Him - Lets celebrate our differences we have and the similarity we all have in CHRIST - He is the wise-master builder and He does not create junk - He made you and me - and He does not make mistakes!
We are HIS workmanship- He made us and He loves us!

A SIDE NOTE:
WE ARE CREATED BY GOD IN HIS IMAGE - Many in the world today have bought into the lie that there is no God! How can anyone believe that - when you can go out and look into the night sky and see forever- planets -stars - moon - they all have their place and their purpose- we are the same way - God made us for good works -Once we know HIM we no longer have any excuse to not obey Him - the lost around us is begging for the Savior - bring HIM to them today - for we are HIS workmanship! We are HIS!

WHO WE ARE IN CHRIST
Part 23- We are seated with Christ!

Ephesians 2:8
And He has raised us up together, and made us to sit
in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.

Jesus our Lord and Savior knows what its like to be a man- He has seen His creation from His creation- what an interesting position that He placed Himself in- to be within the very creation He made - we have a new position as well once we know Christ- everything about our life changes -we see things from a different perspective if you will -before Christ we had no idea why we are here- we had no idea where we came from or where we are going - but now in Christ we have meaning and purpose -and this life now makes more sense then it ever did before- we have so many precious promises in Christ - one of the promises is that HE will raise us up on the last day -so when we breathe our last breath here - we will be raised from the dead - Jesus Christ has lead the way - for HE died and was risen! And He went home to the heavenly places one day we will met Him at - we have the promise of everlasting life -a life that never ends - all the struggles and problems of this life will one day be gone and we will be home - these heavenly places is our actual home -we are not home yet- we may think we have arrived but until we leave these bodies- we must remain until its our time to go! We get to sit one day with Christ - imagine that today - this short life will be gone very soon and eternity awaits -lets wait and He will renew our strength -and we shall soar on eagle's wings - one day not too far away we are gonna fly away! Lets go home when its time! Lets think forward toward those heavenly places! Amen!

A SIDE NOTE:
Look around you right now- this place we love -that we are used to is passing away -just like we are passing away -we are like a vapor Paul says - we are here one minute and gone the next- life here is short- lets spend what time we have left loving and living for JESUS every moment of every day - HE is our life! Live it!

WHO WE ARE IN CHRIST
Part 21- We are His ambassadors!

2nd Corinthians 5:20
Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be reconciled to God!


There is a wonderful song by the group Audio Adrenaline - its called Hands and Feet- this song talks about the fact that we have been called to be God's hands and feet to the lost word around us -when we came to know Christ we were given all we needed to spread the good news to the lost around us - we must take this seriously - many say its not their calling - I say if you belong to Christ it cannot help but be your calling - I have to admit Ive not done this very well - There however have been times that have stood out when God challenged me to witness to someone - please note this does not mean we must beat them on the head with the Bible - it does not mean we should judge them or tell them what they are doing is wrong - we are to love them - we are to be the ambassadors for Christ - God wants to use us for HIS will to be done -what an amazing thing God does with us - He first dusts us off - picks us up from the pit of our sins - forgives us - gives us His Spirit - and begins the work of sanctification in our lives- His goal is to first make us just like HIS Son - and second to cause us to go out and preach what we know in our hearts- we can learn it all -we can read the Bible from cover to cover - we can pray for the lost around us - but we must also be willing to go when God says its time - We are called to bring the light of CHRIST to the darkness of the world around us - the thing about it is God is doing it through us -its not us doing it - if it is -it will not work - we must submit and surrender to God in order that we can become His hands and feet - we must align ourselves with Christ and then go where ever and whenever He tells us to go! Lets walk with God and be HIS hands and HIS feet!

A SIDE NOTE:
Our lives should speak Christ at all times - telling someone about JESUS is always must more then words - for words will not save - but a life turned toward the Son will cast light on the unbelieving and dying world around us - we can speak the truth but we must also live the truth -just speaking and not living will never bring someone to Christ -we must be willing to submit and surrender to JESUS at all times!Be HIS hands and feet today!

WHO WE ARE IN CHRIST
Part 21- We are HIS temple!

1st Corinthians 3:16
Do you not know that you are the temple of God,
and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

A life given over to Christ becomes His dwelling Place- for He dwells within the walls of our lives- we are HIS temple - When we commune with God and worship HIM - HE is right there with us - I was thinking about this the other day -I was thinking specifically the verse that says where two or more are gathered together HE is in their midst - I was thinking about the fact that is not just us alone anymore for God is always with us - He never leaves us - He lives within us - We are His temple - so at all times He dwells with us - He is always in our midst - our lives are totally His - there are no rooms in our lives that are closed off to Him -when we fully give HIM ourselves -and since our bodies are HIS temple as well -we are to out of worship - take care of them - God has given us these bodies on loan - we will not remain in them once we leave this place- but in the meantime God wants us to take care of ourselves and others - He did not just place us here to live by ourselves -He has a plan and purpose in all that HE does - HE did not create us and then leave us - no HE remains with us - He remains close by - He knows all and sees all -and whatever HE does is right -for HE is holy - the fact that He would want to dwell in us is totally amazing -all we have is our sin -anything we do apart from God is sin - we are not here for ourselves- but where created in CHRIST JESUS for good works -
allow God to use you today - become the temple you already are!
Lets worship our LORD with all we have!
He is worthy of our praise!
We are HIS!
For HE made us!

When you open the door of your heart to JESUS - HE will come in and change your heart - and you will never be the same - He wants to dwell within you!
Open the door of your heart to HIM today and He will come in and dwell forever!

WHO WE ARE IN CHRIST
Part 20- We are fruit bearers

John 15:16
You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you that you should go and bright forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever you shall ask of the Father in My name, He may give it to you!

When God came to save us it was HIS goal that we should bear fruit- He has planted His word in our hearts and wants us to grow more and more in the SON- He has given us HIS word -HIS Spirit and HIS Son - in order that we may produce fruit that brings God the glory He deserves - the fruit should always come from God's work in us - not by ourselves - but in HIM - once you are in CHRIST - HE resides in you - you have become a new creation -and the old is gone forever- HE wants our lives to yield fruit- so that others will see HIS goodness - Imagine that God wants to use you right now -just as you are - He knows our faults and still wants to use us - He can take our meager lives and transform them into something that can be used to lead others back to Himself - its no longer about us - before Christ we were all about us - our selves were on the throne of our lives but now that Christ has come in to take control -our lives belong to HIM - all of it -from sunrise to sunset - 24/7 - 365 days a year we are HIS -and He said HE would never ever leave us - He is with us - and since HE is in us as well -we bear fruit - sometimes we cannot even tell we are bearing fruit - if you are sold out to JESUS then you cannot help but bear fruit -
Let God plant something wonder in your life today - trust JESUS as your Savior and you too will be a fruit bearer for Heaven!

A SIDE NOTE:
for a graden to grow - you need several things - Light - Water and Time - without these three things - nothing is gonna grow- Water is needed to provide nurtrance for the root system - Light is needed to stir the seed into germination -and time is needed to bring the plant to maturity - an immature plant cannot produce fruit and neither can someone produce fruit without the Savior!

Welcome everyone to SuperBowl Sunday!
I am a huge football fan -have been since I was five years old - me and my dad would watch football after doing our weekly yard work - Dad got me into football and into the Washington Redskins - however my team did not make it this year- but my friend's team- the Bears did! Along with Payton Manning and the Colts - it does not get any better then this - Bears with their super defense and the nearly unstoppable Manning for the Colts-
This is not all the story of these two teams however -Both coaches happen to be African Americans - and both are Christ followers! I heard a radio show about a week ago that said both men have great character - and we will see how the loser handles the loss - Since we are in CHRIST we should always be kind to all - we also have the assurance that we can do all things through Christ - this means we can both lose well and win well -I believe the character of the players is more important then the final score - they are called to give their all -we are as well -we are on the same team - the team of Christ -He wants us to be in the game- He wants us to be His first string -He wants us to give it all our - and win for Him - but the interesting thing is CHRIST already won it for us -so when you watch the game today - remember that these are people playing a game that in the scheme of things don't mean as much as the hype - I love football -but I must love my JESUS even more! Pray for both teams - not so one would win -but that all would be safe - and play with honor - These teams have fought fierce battles all year to get here - they have sacrificed - they have given their all - but unfortunately one team must lose -there are not ties allowed -the same is true of our lives -we get one life here to live and when its gone its gone -
lets live for JESUS in all we do -whether is out on the field - or in the stands - or pews - lets play with honor and seek the price CHRIST won for us! Lets have a Super Sunday for CHRIST JESUS!

WHO WE ARE IN CHRIST
Part 19- We are connected to JESUS!

John 15:5
I am the vine, you are the branches: he that dwells in Me and I in Him, the same will bear much fruit: for without Me you can do nothing!

Today's verse speaks of an awesome truth - if we belong to JESUS we are connected to GOD - We have this connection through the Son! We who now dwell in JESUS and HE in us have the power from Heaven to bear fruit that is worthy of God - fruit of the Spirit and fruit for worship and service- if we try to do this apart from Jesus it will not be all it could be -matter a fact it would accomplish nothing at all -if we try and stand on our own -we cannot be fit for the kingdom of God - We must dwell totally in JESUS - for HE is the Vine and we are the branches connected to that vine - just like when you cut a tree down - the tree will die - the part that is disconnected from the roots will die - our lives in CHRIST are different then before our conversion -we can never go back to a disconnected life -once in JESUS we are always connected - now there may be times when we try and live this life apart from Jesus and if we do this -we will surely fall - God never intended us to live apart from Him - He made us for fellowship - He made us to love -He made us to be HIS hands and feet to the world around us - He wants to use you today -sometimes we forget who we are connected too- We have a forever connection with JESUS HIMSELF! We can do all things in CHRIST - nothing lacking in CHRIST-
Since we remain connected to the Vine - we have life and life that is lived for JESUS - The Spirit of God that resides in us now only wants to please the Father- we have this kind of fellowship in JESUS - lets rejoice in our connection and continue to "grow" in CHRIST day by day - We are planted in good soil - We will grow closer and closer to JESUS - grow for God today!


A SIDE NOTE:
When we dwell in CHRIST we cannot help but grow- but we must be careful of the briars that the enemy throws our way - We need to grow toward the SON at all times - this world around us will stunt our growth - lets dwell in the garden of the LORD GOD!

WHO WE ARE IN CHRIST
Part 18- We safe in HIS hands!

1st John 5:18
We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he that is begotten of God keeps himself and the wicked one cannot touch him!

The application of the above verse is different then some people may interrupt it - some have used it to say if you sin once you are lost and condemned forever - but the truth is our sins are gone when we come to know JESUS - and its not by our effort to stay sinless -its all about JESUS and HIS death on the cross for us - we are spotless in CHRIST - but on our own -we are sinners- I like to call it a sinner saved - we have the ability to sin at any time - if someone tells you they don't sin anymore - watch their lives closely -all of us fall short - or else JESUS would never had died to save us -we would be good on our own - with that said -today I want to talk about the fact that once we come into this relationship with Jesus Christ -the enemy cannot steal us away- he can sure mess with us and try to make our lives miserable - once we come to know Christ the enemies goal changes -if he cannot have us - he will try and use us to bring others down - to cause others not follow Christ - once we are in the hands of God - we are HIS forever- He holds us -its not us holding onto Him - This life is hard -there are daily trials and temptations that come our way - we have a choose on how we deal with what can and will happen - we must trust JESUS at all times -He holds us and the enemy cannot have us - this is good news today - so no matter what your circumstances are right now -GOD is with you -HE holds you -and He will never leave nor forsake us -
We praise the LORD for HIS goodness -Thank YOU for holding us!

Sometimes we feel its up to us to stay saved - but the truth of the matter is if you follow JESUS - really follow Him -then your life will be changed - you have become a new creation -the WORD says that the old has passed away - its gone -
