James: book of Godly wisdom - part 5
JAMES 1:7
...For let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord....
So far the book of James has talked about asking God in faith. The point is when we ask God for anything by faith -HE will do what is needed -now He will not always do it the way we think He should - but HE will get what is needed accomplished- but we must ask in faith - now James is not saying that just because we pray by faith -we will get what we want - the point being when we ask in faith -we will end up wanting what He wants - when our will gives way to His - then we get somewhere and God does what is needed - but if we don't believe He can do it -then He won't -there is a story in which some of the disciples of Jesus could not heal someone who was sick -it was not that they did not have the power from God to do it - it was that they went about it the wrong way - Jesus said by fasting this prayer will be answered - we must believe God before we even begin to pray - or else we will not receive anything from God - Yes He does it - but we must believe it - what power HE has and what power HE has given us -if we would just take HIM at HIS word and believe -then there is nothing we can ask that will not be done if in accordance to His will - the main problem we seem to have is our lack of confidence that God can do it - hey look - God made all you see - He made this day - and HE will make tomorrow if its His will - He sent Jesus to die in our place -opening up heaven to us common folk - God has done all this for you and me - to say HE cannot be trusted or believe is a lie from the pits of hell - this truth is truth - we cannot ask God of anything unless we really down deep believe HE can do it - lets pray prayers of faith -and take to God all our needs- believing HE really is our only hope!
The prayer of a faithful man (or women) avails much! Praise God!
a side note: With man things are not possible - but this is not the case with our Father God - there is nothing that HE cannot do!

Coming Thanksgiving Day - THE ANNUAL THANKS-FOR-GIVING DEVOTIONAL! THANKS FOR GIVING TO ME!
We have several prayer requests for this week - please pray for the following:
*DON R - will have major heart surgery today- I attend church with him!
*One of my Mother's friends from way back -left this world on Saturday -
her name was Gayle B- pray for the family left behind - thanks!
*Karen R is recovering from surgery to remove a tumor from her brain
-she should be home tomorrow -thanks for your prayers!
*Pray for Adrain and Heather as they await the birth of the second child very soon!
*Pray for Lisa W. - she lost her job last week and needed income - pray she will find a new and better job soon -thank you!
*Zandra requests pray for her husband who is in ICU - I don't know his name but God does- pray for total healing - Missy works with her.

PRAYER FOCUS: NORTH KOREA
Pray that God will contiune to open doors so that the Gospel can be proclaimed in North Korea!
Pray for the victims of terriable floods that have plegued North Korea!
Pray for believers in Christ in the country who are subject to persection - pray for their protection.
Thanks for praying for North Korea!

PRAYER SHOULD BE OUR FIRST RESPONCE NOT THE LAST!
