James: book of Godly wisdom - part 10

JAMES 1:13-14
Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither does He tempt any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust and enticed.

A brief note before I begin - tomorrow's Livin in The Word will be new - but there is a possibility that Friday's will be a rewind - it all depends on my wife's condition following surgery -please pray for us! God bless you!Daniel
...And now for today's message.....

Today James again talks about temptation - he lets the readers know that God is not able to tempt anyone - his point is God cannot tempt since God does not entice with evil things and desires- for they come from within the heart of man - since the fall in the garden - man's perfect standing with God came apart instantly - and sin entered into the perfect creation of God. Its from within Jesus says -that a man sins - the Word also says that from within the heart the mouth speaks - what is inside us has a way of coming out - the enemy of our souls - satan - loves to tempt us and he loves to see us give in - he is the tempter and the liar of all liars- his goal is to break our intimacy with God - and we when fall prey to his temptation - we lose a little of that each time - and a little more each time - this is not to say that God will not forgive us - but its not an excuse either to just give in - God's goal is that we would not give in! But God also allows the temptation to test us -not for His sake - since He knows all things already - but for ours - many of think we stand strong only to fall - pride comes before a fall -lets recognize that is it not God who tempts us - but the enemy - and God can use that for HIS purpose -praise God for that - lets resist the devil and he will have no choice but to flee from us! Amen!

a side note: Temptation is not sin but giving into temptation is!
in CHRIST we can resist temptation!

James: book of Godly wisdom - part 9

JAMES 1:12
Blessed is the man who endures temptation: for when he is tried, he shall recieve the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to them that love Him.

Our Lord Jesus is our example of what it means to endure tempation - if you have know Christ any time at all - you know the strong pull of the enemy - he wants us to make a mockey of our faith -he wants us to give into his requests -but we are to be ruled by the Spirit of God and if you know Jesus there will be a time when you can walk away from any temptation - the problem is many of us go places we should not go - and that just sets us up - the enemy knows our weakness - he knows where to hit you - where I may not have a problem with something - you just might -that is why we should be careful not to do anything that some consider sin - we must not do anything that will offend our brothers and sisters in Christ - note the last part - we are not to worry about the offence we cause the lost -because that offence could be used to bring them to Christ. We must be on our guard at all times - we know when temptation comes and if we endure we will be blessed and not only that - we will in turn honour our Lord and show the world we really belong to Him - some think temptaion is sin -it is not -for our Lord was tempted for 40 days and 40 nights - and at His physical weakest - satan attacked and yet Jesus endured it - we have that same power to avoid the pit falls of sin - not to say that any of us are perfect or can be perfect on our own - its the fact that God has given each of us the power to endure temptation -sometimes it seems easier just to give in - but we must stand our ground - we must do all to honor God - and falling prey to temptation does in no way honor Him - so stand fast against the devil - not in your power but in God's - we do not have to sin - sure our flesh is weak - but His Spirit within us in strong - and with Christ in our hearts - there is no temptation we cannot stand up too in Him!

a side note: the enemy will always attack your weakness - lets be strong in the LORD and be able in HIS power to stand up -stand up for JESUS!
in CHRIST we can endure temptation!

WE ALL CAN BE TEMPTED - BUT WE DON'T HAVE TO GIVE INTO IT.

11-26-07 JAMES PART 8

James: book of Godly wisdom - part 8

JAMES 1:11
For the sun is no sooner risen with burning heat, but it withers the grass, and the flower thereof falls, and the grace of the fashion of it perishes: so also shall the
rich man fade away in his ways.

Today James continues on his theme of the rich man - the point to me is that this world and the things in it are passing away - even if you have great wealth -the adage is you cannot take it with you - put another way - you don't see any hoarses with luggage racks - we can aquire much wealth here on earth were rust and thief can break in and steal -but in any case we are going to leave it here -sure our ancestors will get it but its only for a short time - if your whole life is driven by wealth in this life -what will you leave for the next? We should be storing up treasure in heaven, another words - we need to invest in those things that have eternal value - like the lives of our children - our church - in whatever God is calling us to do that will last forever- Ive been called to sponcer a child through Compassion International - I say this not to brag but to show you what it means to give to something that will last for ever- sure I could have cable TV or a brand new car - but I feel its what God has called me to do - not that there is anything wrong with a new car or money - do whatever God is calling you to do - a simple smile - a cup of cold water or spare change for someone in need -the point is to do something not out of obligation or to ease your guilt - but out of worship - after all -all we have in the here and now will pass away -and this is not our home - let's make sure we are rich in things of the Spirit and not in things of this passing away soon to be gone world!

a side note: we can have all we need and want here and forget to store up anything in heaven! Lets be sure to give away what God calls us to give away! In this HE will be praised and honored with our lives!
in CHRIST worldly riches pale in comparison to HIM!

James: book of Godly wisdom - part 7

JAMES 1:9-10
Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted: But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.

The worldly riches that many cling to in this life will soon pass away - it is not going to last forever because this is not our home - this is not our final resting place and this is not all there is! Today is called Black Friday - the day many begin their CHRISTmas shopping - the stores will be filled to the brim and parking will be at a premium - and tempers will flare and money will be saved - the stores will make about 50% of what they need to stay out of the red! This society in which we live is driven by possessions- but what we have -and when you get what you think you need - the ads want you to get more -and you are never to be satisfied at all - we must have more - and we don't use what we have - I know that I have enough clothes in my closet to be dressed all 365 days of the year and not have to do laundry -that's so sad when there are those in this world that have nothing - not even a cup of cold water - but we want more - James in today's verse says that those who are rich will be made low and the poor will be exalted - strange words when you think about what we have these days - we must have and if we don't have -we need to get as soon as possible - James says that we should be poor in spirit requiring God to met our every need - so take heart if you don't have this or that - take heart if you have not done your shopping - while the stores would not want you to know this - we don't really need anything but God!

a side note: When all we have is JESUS - that is all we need!
in CHRIST our needs are met!

LIVIN IN THE WORD - FRIDAY- 11-23-07
IF WE HAVE JESUS - WE HAVE ALL WE REALLY NEED!

11-22-07 THANKS FOR GIVING...

The Daily Blueprint for 11-22-07

THANKS FOR GIVING

PSALM 69:30
I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.

Today is one of my favorite days of all - the day set aside to give thanks to God for all He has done for us - It must be noted that we should give thanks each and every day we have breath - we should daily praise God with our lives - with our songs - with our lips!

I must admit this years Thanksgiving Celebration is different - this year has been very hard for our family - My Mom2 as you all have heard is finally home after a 4 month stay in the Hospital and a local Nursing Home - she is home and I praise GOD for this - she is a living breathing miracle - she was so close to death just 4 months ago and now look -she is home! I am so thankful for just the breath we get to take each day - Also my wife has had many physical problems this year - she is having back surgery next Thursday -we hope this will alleviate her extreme back pain - all in all a very tough year and yet I have so much to be thankful for! This is where you all come in - its the annual Thanks-for-giving devotional - which is my favorite next to the CHRISTmas season devotionals I do each year - this is a time where I thank the good Lord for all He has done for me and others- Its time to say Thank You!
Thank you for all those who lift me and my family up in prayer-
THANKS FOR GIVING
Thank you to all those who have communicated with me through the years and those I have personally got to met - I am thankful I got to met Moma Mia this past year and Colitta last year!
THANKS FOR GIVING
Thanks to all those who have encouraged me when there have been times I have wanted to give up and give in
THANKS FOR GIVING
For my Mom2 - my Dad - for all my Moms out there that live as examples to me to live by!
THANKS FOR GIVING
Thanks for allowing me to come into your lives with my poor grammar and terrible mis-spellings- you can tell God sure has a sense of humor!
THANKS FOR GIVING!
Thanks for all those who have stepped up to the plate and lived the life for Christ-
THANKS FOR GIVING!
To My Pastor Jimmy - to my friend and brother in CHRIST - Earl -
Thanks for being a shoulder to lean on and for all the words you have given to me!
THANKS FOR GIVING!

And finally - THANKS FOR GIVING TO ME LORD JESUS!
Thank YOU for never letting us go (thanks to Ceadman's call for the inspiration of those words!)- We owe YOU everything!

What would we be without YOU!
THANK YOU FOR GIVING TO US JESUS OUR LORD!

If I have left anyone out
it was not meant to make you pout
It was just the late nights - the long trip to see my parents
It was the late night snacks and the lack of sleep-
and it was my older age! =-)

Today is THANKSGIVING a day that should give thanks for the abundance that GOD has given to each of us -

God works in strange ways - despite the worst drought in 50 years- the colors on the trees are magnificent!

THIS YEAR WE THANK TO LORD FOR THOSE WHO CAME INTO THIS LIFE -----Eliza Jayne- born to my niece Sarah and her husband Ben earlier this month!

THANKS FOR GIVING----lets sing a new song every day to our LORD AND SAVIOR - LET PRAISE HIM IN THE STORM
Let's praise HIM when it seems like the bottom has dropped out
Praise HIM when you do not understand - when you haven't a clue of what to do - Praise HIM and you will your attitude change - and your life!

Happy and Blessed THANKSGIVING to all!
may GOD continue to bring praise to our lips for what HE has done!
Without HIM there would be no Thanksgiving at all!

I pray for each of you - I pray for God's will to be done in your lives this year - I pray for restoration of the broken hearted -
I pray for the homeless - the orphans and those who are alone!
Bless someone this Thanksgiving - love them like JESUS!

Your servant in Christ-Daniel<><
THANKS FOR GIVING!!!!!!!

in CHRIST we can be forever thankful!

James: book of Godly wisdom - part 6

JAMES 1:8
A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Today's verse talks about a man who is double minded - another words - a man who is not true to anything at all -and James said this type of man is unstable in all his ways - God calls us to be mindful of Him and we cannot do that if our mind is given over to other things- we must give Him all we have - heart - body and mind - He is Lord of all! A double minded man is not stable at all - one day he will be doing one thing and the other something else- and he can never be trusted- he also can fall prey to any kind of false doctrine - this kind of person has no plan for his life and does not know Christ- he is unstable - and sadly these people are everywhere -in the fashion world -styles change overnight - in the pop culture of today what was great one day is bad the next -lets not be double minded -but keep our minds on the One who never changes- the Lord Jesus Christ- We must follow Him totally and not just part way - He wants followers who will take a stand for HIM in a world that does not stand for much - Lets serve one another in Love and our whole goal being praising and worshipping our Lord!

a side note: Jesus said you cannot serve two masters! What masters you - is it the LORD or the things of this world - you must choise one or the other! We must be single minded people of God!
in CHRIST our mind stays on the TRUTH!

JAMES 1:7
...For let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord....

So far the book of James has talked about asking God in faith. The point is when we ask God for anything by faith -HE will do what is needed -now He will not always do it the way we think He should - but HE will get what is needed accomplished- but we must ask in faith - now James is not saying that just because we pray by faith -we will get what we want - the point being when we ask in faith -we will end up wanting what He wants - when our will gives way to His - then we get somewhere and God does what is needed - but if we don't believe He can do it -then He won't -there is a story in which some of the disciples of Jesus could not heal someone who was sick -it was not that they did not have the power from God to do it - it was that they went about it the wrong way - Jesus said by fasting this prayer will be answered - we must believe God before we even begin to pray - or else we will not receive anything from God - Yes He does it - but we must believe it - what power HE has and what power HE has given us -if we would just take HIM at HIS word and believe -then there is nothing we can ask that will not be done if in accordance to His will - the main problem we seem to have is our lack of confidence that God can do it - hey look - God made all you see - He made this day - and HE will make tomorrow if its His will - He sent Jesus to die in our place -opening up heaven to us common folk - God has done all this for you and me - to say HE cannot be trusted or believe is a lie from the pits of hell - this truth is truth - we cannot ask God of anything unless we really down deep believe HE can do it - lets pray prayers of faith -and take to God all our needs- believing HE really is our only hope!
The prayer of a faithful man (or women) avails much! Praise God!

a side note: With man things are not possible - but this is not the case with our Father God - there is nothing that HE cannot do!
in CHRIST our prayers are heard!

JAMES 1:6
But let him ask in faith -nothing wavering.
For he that wavers is like a wave of the
sea driven with wind and tossed.

God already knows what we have need of before we even ask - He sees both the beginning and the end at the same time for He exists outside of time as we know it - as we measure our lives in years -He sees to the end of time and beyond - but God commands us to pray without ceasing -to always seek His face in prayer - prayer is vital to our relationship to Jesus Christ- for without prayer -there is no communication -there is no relationship to be honest- many will pray without their hearts in it -but God goes even further when He says we must ask in faith - we must believe God and take Him at His word- when we ask for something -we must have the faith to back it up -we must believe He will do what's best at all times- there will be times when God does something we do not agree with -but again He knows best - He knows all - if we don't believe what we pray -we are wasting out time -we are like the sea - the waves are all tossed about and all sense of direction is gone - we must believe and not be a fair-weather prayer warrior - we must pray no matter what the results may be - if we believe God will hear us and answer our prayers then He will - but we must be cautious not to always expect the answers we want - it does not work that way - whatever God's will is -we must submit to it - God has been dealing with me for sometime about some issues I am currently going through and this thought came to me today that there is a difference between surrender and giving up - when we surrender we admit our need for Jesus and submit to what HE wants- but when we give up -we no longer have any desire to see God's will -lets not give up but pray in faith - prayers must be of faith or they won't accomplish anything at all- let's pray with our hearts!

a side note: : Pray is not as much a one way street as it as two way street -when we pray -we need to make time to hear from God - its not about what we say - but its about our hearts - its about submitting to Him - its about communication with the Father! Happy prayers everyone!
in CHRIST our prayers are answered!

Do you want wisdom? Then ask God! Do you want to be healed from your sickness? ask God - in all our needs -we need to ask God - who gives to all the same - all we need to do is ask and seek Him to see what His will is for our lives and HE will do the rest- we must place our dependence on Him for wisdom and everything else- The key is faith -it is a big waste of time to pray and ask God for something if we don't believe He will do it - He looks right past all the outside at gets right at the heart of the matter- He desires that we have wisdom -that we be wise in the ways of the Lord Jesus and to be able to tell others of His great love and compassion for us - God will give us wisdom if we ask - many times God however will use circumstances and trials to bring about this wisdom - it does not come over night and we need to remember God will give us what we need but it may not be when we think we need it -but He knows better then we do -He made it all what HE says must always be our bottom line - lets ask God for wisdom and when we get it - use it for His glory!Do you lack wisdom? Well then - ask God!

a side note: We have not because we ask not - have you asked for wisdom from God lately? He wants you to have it -but you need to ask Him in faith - and believe in your heart- Wisdom will be yours!
in CHRIST we gain wisdom!

James: book of Godly wisdom - part 2

JAMES 1:4
But let patience have her perfect work, that you may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

I have seen some translations end this passage with the words - Lacking nothing - I like that better then wanting nothing -but we must go with what the KJV says as that is what I have been using from the beginning - with that said - I want to explore that truth -that in Christ we have all we need- He allows various trials to come into our lives with the sole purpose of showing us our need for Him -and at the same time working out patience in our lives -the verse says let her have her perfect work - allowing the trials to bring us closer to Jesus is the goal - but many times our flesh reacts without thinking and we get in a heap of trouble - we must trust God no matter how things look or how things are - we all struggle with something in our lives as we are only human - but with God's Spirit living inside of us - we have the ability to not sin - hear me in this -as long as we are in these bodies we can and often will sin - but that sin is not done without conviction if you really know Jesus and His Spirit dwells in your - sure you can sin once you know Christ but it is not any fun -maybe for a season -but its not how we should live any longer -let as James says - Patience have her perfect way in your life - the goal is to make us complete in our life in Christ and in Him we have all we need!
The joy of this journey is knowing God is with us every step of the way!

a side note: God never promised us a trouble free life - but a life in which He will use the trouble to give us direction in our lives...He will used whatever is nessary to bring us to the place He wants us - just keep on keeping on and trust Him!
in CHRIST every trial has an eternal purpose!

James: book of Godly wisdom - part 1

JAMES 1:1-3
James, a servant of God, and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, Greeting:
My Brothers, count it all joy when you fall into various trials and temptations; knowing this, that the trying of your faith works patience!

Today we begin a new series - this one is on the book of James- in this book there is much Godly wisdom to be gleamed - join me in this walk through the book of James....

Today we are going to talk about patience - I am sure you have all heard to never pray for patience because many trials will come your way - we all will face trials in this life - Jesus has promised us this -but He has also promised us that He will never leave us - He is always with us! Praise God - James is a book of Godly wisdom - in its pages - we can learn many things- today we see that we all who are saved have patience in us - but the trials bring it all the more - the harder we are tried - the closer to Christ we become - this works only if we are willing to submit to His authority - He always knows best and will give us what we need to be the people He has called us to be - sometimes this means He must allow some things to come into our lives that we would not pick and choose to have in our lives- sometimes there will be pain in this life - while this brings us to our knees- it also reminds us this is not our home - James says to consider this all joy! Lets have that attitude when the trials come - and they will come! We must trust the Lord no matter what the circumstances will be - HE is our Father & He knows what is best- lets join James & consider these trials all joy!

a side note: Nothing happens to us that God does not allow! We are HIS children and HE must do what is needed to get us to where he wants us!
in CHRIST.................................................we have constant joy!

Less of us - more of Him

JOHN 3:30
He must increase, but I must decrease.

Where does Christ fit in your life? Is He your whole life or just part of your life? If we were to answer honestly -we would all have to admit He is not as much of our lives as He should be. This life in Christ must be life in which we allow Him to increase and ourselves - our needs -our wants to decrease- this is totally against human nature and we cannot do it apart from Him - He must be our life - nothing less! He wants all of us - not just the left overs - We must decrease - He must increase in our lives - I think in this society that feeds us with the lie of this life being about us - has caused even us Christ followers to miss the point of our lives in Christ- we begin to ask what's in it for me - and then the focus begins to shift from Jesus to ourselves - when we say we are followers of Christ- we must truly follow Him at all times - there is no day off for a Christian - He bought us with a price- I have to admit that I have gotten caught up in the selfishness of self -I am a neat freak and I love things to be just so - my wife on the other hands is none of those things! But what we have in common is CHRIST! We must get to the point in our lives where what we want is no longer important and what God wants is ultimately important!
This life is not ours - it belongs to the Creator of all - He must increase while we decrease - not our will but HIS be done! Let there be less of us and more of Him so that the world can see HIS light within our lives!

a side note: We have a bad habit of saying things belong to us -this is not the truth - it all belongs to God and is on loan to us - He made it - and we borrow it! Lets remember its all HIS and not ours -this includes our will!
in CHRIST.................................................we must decrease!

The Light Has Come

JOHN 3:19
And this is the condemnation, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather then the Light, because their deeds were evil.

The Light has come was the proclamation that John the Baptist had made - John said that Jesus was coming after Him but was before Him - in the same vain -John also said that He must increase - I must decrease -this is what our lives should be about - making our lives more about JESUS and less about ourselves- for our deeds are evil apart from Christ! When this great Light had come into the world -many did not recognize it - again because their deeds were evil and evil deeds harden hearts and blind eyes -as well as closing ears to hear His righteousness- today's verse says man loved the darkness more then the light -all you have to do is turn on CNN or read any front page of a newspaper and you can see it right before your eyes- evil is everywhere -and it seems to be getting worse -but one day the LIGHT again will come to this world and will we be able to know HE is here - or will our evil deeds cause us not to see Him as He is - we must surrender to Christ in every area of our lives so that we won't be caught doing these evil deeds.....

THE LIGHT HAS COME
CAN YOU SEE IT?

a side note: Where darkness is -there is no light -where there is light -there is no darkness! Lets walk in the LIGHT as HE is in the light!

VETERAN'S DAY 2007: LET FREEDOM RING!

Galatians 5:13
For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don't use your Freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead use your freedom to serve one another in love.

Today we celebrate Veteran's Day! I first of all want to thank those who I know personally who have either served or are serving to protect the freedom of our nation - I salute you all -thank you for what you do for our nation -thanks for your willingness to lay it all down!

I dedicate today's devotional to my Dad, Daniel and my Grandfather, Hank - again I thank you for the life you have lived in serving this nation!
God bless you both!

Today is a day we spend in remembrance of those who have laid down their lives to pay for our freedom as a nation -without these braves souls - our nation would not be the greatest nation in the world - we remember those who have given their lives -and those who serve today - today's verse talks about us using our freedom to serve others in love - these brave men and women serve this nation in such a powerful -many of them are on the front lines and could lose their lives any day - and yet the continue to fight the fight for our freedom -we who are not doing that -need to be on our knees each day for them -we need to help them when we see their needs -we need to be willing to serve them in love- helping those who have lost loved ones in the wars - let us not forget the families of those killed in action -they have given to us - lets give back -this Veteran's day -lets serve others -in whatever why God calls you to do - many are hurting - many are in great pain due to what they did for our nation - lets honor the freedom they have given us and the freedom we have in CHRIST - who paid the ulitmate debt for us!
FREEDOM IS NOT FREE - FOR IT COST MUCH IN THE BLOOD OF THE SOILDERS - IN THE SACRIFICE OF THEIR FAMILES - THEIR WILLINGNESS TO LAID IT ALL DOWN FOR OUR NATION!
GOD BLESS YOU AND GOD BLESS AMERICA!

He Bore It All

Isaiah 53:4
Surely He has borne our grief's, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted....

Jesus came to this earth to take our sins upon Himself and forever bring us back to God the Father - Jesus knows what its like to be a man -for He came from Heaven to Earth to live as a man - but a man who never sinned and yet JESUS carried our sins on Himself - He bore our sins - our grief - and nailed it to the cross -this was God's plan from the very beginning -after the fall of man - things would never be the same until the Lamb was slain and our sins were taken away - as far as the East is from the West - When He gave His life on the cross He spoke these words - IT IS FINISHED - and it is finished - our sin has been forgiven - and the sting has been taken from the last enemy - death - we no longer have to fear our departure from this place ever again- He opened the door to heaven for us - its only by His blood - He is the only way in - no other way will open the door - Jesus bore it all - there is nothing left to bear - of course many even though their sins are forgiven still hold on to the guilt of those sins - they won't let them go - but God has already forgiven them - what about us - do you hold your sins? They have been taken away-
lets live in this freedom today! He bore it all! Praise HIM for this!

a side note: your sin - my sin - was the reason Jesus came to die - He did it not just for our sins -but for all the sins - every one of the sins ever committed can be forgiven -if they would place their trust in Christ and His salvation!

For He Is

Joel 2:13
...and rend your heart, and not your garmets, and turn to the Lord your God: for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repents him of the evil.

The God we serve is good - He is also love- He wants what is best for His children - He is infantely patient - He is loving and kind - and His mercy indures forever - we can count on the Lord at all times - Today's verse asks the listener to "rend" their hearts- this means to tear - I believe what God means is we must seek Him totally with our whole heart -we must not have devtion to any other god but Him - for HE is a jealous God - He is not willing to share us with any false god or the evil one - we were sealed by the blood of the Lamb unto salvation -we are now set free from the burden and penatly of sin -we have been made a new creation in Christ - we are not the same as we once were -when we did not know Christ - The mercy God shows us just amazes me - number one - God knows our every sin - even those we have not yet commited - He knows what we are going to do before we do it - He sees it all - and all at once -and yet He loves us - and yet HE wants to get to know us - and yet HE is gracious to us and slow to anger -what an awesome God we serve - for He is good - for HE is our Father in Heaven- for He knows what is best and therefore often takes us to places we never wanted to go -but the joy we have in the journey is worth the travel we sometimes must take - just taste and see -the Lord is good - His attibutes are praiseworthy!
Lets worship God with our whole heart - and give to HIM all we have and are!
HE is the King of Glory! Our Father God!

Correction

Jeremiah 10:24
O Lord, correct me, but with judgment; and not in Your anger, lest You shall bring me to nothing.

Many times in the Word of God - God says that we could not live and see His face -He is that holy! We cannot stand in the way of His wrath -God could end it all in a hearbeat if He so wanted too -He is that powerful - The Word also talks about the fact that God corrects those that HE loves - just like an earthy parent does -sometimes pain is used to bring us to the place we need to be -sometimes God must correct us and we may think its harsh -but if HE were to punish us like we deserve -we would all just die - God is merciful to us - even more merciful then we even know - but one day I believe it will be revealed to us - one day we will see just what the trials did in our lives- it must be noted that correction comes in many forms - sometimes its nothing to do with us -but someone else's sins that we must pay the price for - as a society -sins of others has an impact on those around them - God knows what is best -and He will do whatever it takes to bring us to the place He wants us - correction is never much fun -and its ideal that we just obey God and not have to face it - but the truth is we are sinners in a fallen world and given the right set of circumstances - all of us can fall to temptation and sin -God must deal with us His way - the best way -so take heart of He is correcting you right now - it shows you that HE does in fact love you - remember the correction you received as a child from your earthly parents - God must do the same thing!
Let us rejoice during the time of correction- God is good! HE proves it to us!

a side note: just like a child -we all need correction from time to time -we all have to answer to God -sin has consequences -but praise GOD that HE took the sting from death - He forgives our sin - allow HIS correction to mold you!

Forever

Ecclesiastes 3:14
I know that, whatsoever God does, it shall be forever: nothing can be put to it, nor anything taken from it: and God does it that man should fear before Him!

During my long drive over to my folks house in Atlanta - this overwhelming thought came to me - I was just listening and signing along with some of my cds - and this thought hit me - it was about those who do not believe in Christ and die in their sins and end up in hell - the fact was that this is forever- once there hope is forever gone - can you imagine forever in hell? This thought really opened my eyes and woke me up - do we consider this when going out and witnessing to others - the forever part should motivate us to do more to preach the gospel - with our lives and our resources - What God does lasts forever - heaven will be the forever home of those who know Him! So this part of forever is a good thing - but what God does lasts - He never intended hell to be a place for us - it was meant for satan and his army -not us - but because of the fall of mankind - those who don't know Christ have no way into heaven and their entrance is forever blocked unless they repent and get saved by the blood of the Lamb! We must be more willing to go where God calls us to go and do what HE calls us to do - this is to me as much as to anyone reading this - sometimes it goes overwhelming -but we are not do this without God's help! HE does not really need us - but wants to use us! To think of forever away from God just causes me to shutter - its a very sad thought and this should open our hearts to bring the lost into the light!
What God does is forever and once He saves us - we have heaven forever! Its all through Christ- there is no other way - lets walk in the light and seek His face and tell others of His wonderful grace! Forever does not have to be a bad thing -if they come to know Christ- they don't have to set foot in hell! Praise God! Let's worship the Lord of Lords today and forever more!

a side note: The simple truth of the gospel is all that we need to be fishers of people for Christ - He is calling us to go - to move -to do His will - the lost is all around us -they need this life-saving truth right now - tomorrow may be too late! We have this time right now - lets us it for HIS glory! Amen!?!

Let Him Lift You Up

James 4:10
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord,
And He shall lift you up!

Welcome to a new month - its November! That means CHRISTmas is not that far way - this year the theme will be UNTO US.... Stay tuned......................

Today's verse talks about being humble! Are you humble? Being humble in the here and now is not in style - the world equates being humble with being weak - and yet JESUS was the strongest One that has ever walked this world and He was humble -its easy to go with the flow -and not live against the grain on this world - but we must be humble if we are to serve the Lord- When we give our lives to Him we cannot boast about ourselves and what we have done - but must turn our focus toward God and others and away from ourselves! We all have been bitten by the what's in it for me bug- and sadly its gotten into our churches and into our relationships - You cannot have a good relationship with anyone if you are not willing to be humble - we must let God lift us up -He is the only way - praise for ourselves should not come from our own lips - we must be concerned about what others think - but sadly many do - being humble is all about giving to someone else before yourselves - not trying to gain anything by lip service but through actual submitance to those placed over you -not fighting for your rights is a humble way of life -no one likes someone who brags about themselves - God wants to use us as Salt and Light in the world around us - we must be humble or else we won't be either one - once you come to know Christ -your life is no longer your own -you place yourself under God's authority! We must be humble to serve the Lord!
its not about us -but its all about HIM! Let Him lift you up!

a side note: When we allow God to work in our lives are we willing to forgo what we want ? We must be humble to submit!
