ROMANS 10:21
But to Israel He(Jesus) said - All day long I have stretched out My hand to a disobedient and gainsaying people.

Today's verse has an intresting word- in the King James verison of the bible the word gainsaying is featured - I had no idea what this meant - so I looked it up - here is what I found:
gain·say(gn-s, gns)
tr.v. gain·said (-sd, -sd), gain·say·ing, gain·says (-sz, -sz)
1. To declare false; deny. See Synonyms at deny.
2. To oppose, especially by contradiction.
So from today's verse we can see that the people of Israel did not believe God and would not respond to HIM and yet HE stretched out HIS hands to them all the day long - this means God never tried of reaching out to His people!
God had to do the same thing in our lives -if you trust JESUS today - He had to get through to you and you had to admit HE was the only way out - you see God takes to places we would never go - to get us to where HE wants us to be - HE is always stretching out HIS hands to us - He sent JESUS to pay the price for our sin - to bring us back to right standing with Himself- HE has made a way for us to have enteral life with HIM forever- the main problem is many deny God - they deny HIS existence - and many do not want to have to obey God - they would rather deny Him or make up some false religion that is lifeless and empty - only JESUS came and died for us - no one else was qualified to do that - Buddha died and could not save one soul - Mohammed died and is 6 feet under -only JESUS stands as the Messiah -the Savior of the World -for HIS grave is empty - the other -so -called saviors are dead - they are in their tombs still -they could not save anyone - they just died! Its great to know JESUS died for us sins and HIS payment was the only payment that God required - We do not have to die for our sins - but we will die in this flesh and be risen to new life in Heaven - much of this is not understandable to our feeble human minds -but nonetheless its true - God has His arms reached out to us - won't you lift your hands and let HIM take you and save you today? HE is waiting for you -today is the day of salvation -to know more about starting this life-changing relationship with me - please email me - any time -and I will pray with you and give your the gospel message in a nut shell - today you can be saved! Today can become the greatest day -next to the day we met JESUS face to face!
Live in HIS WORD and in HIS GRACE today!

grace-part-9-stiff-necked stubbornness

ACTS 7:51
...You stiff-necked and circumcised in heart and ears, you do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your father's did, so you do...

Hardheadedness runs in the human race- all of us want what we want and most of the time look after only our own needs - sometimes moving out of that to help our family members- but left to ourselves we would be self-centered - its all from our sin nature -also we are taught as we grow up to take care of #1 -and after all if we don't - then who will? We are taught to get what we can when we can and by whatever means necessary - we are to always strive for Holiness but in this world full of sin - that is not looked upon as something anyone wants to do - we live in a sin-filled world that is filled with people who sin -put it all together -this world can be a pretty hopeless place - The Lord has much to say about being stubborn and stiff-necked - He does not like it at all - He wants us to be selfless - not full of self - many cross this line and miss the whole point -its not about us - I have to admit when I talked about the ministry of Compassion at my church -I began to think it was about me -about what I could do - how pervasive I could be to get people to sponcer a child - when our focus is on ourselves -failure is the end result- Jesus came and died for us HIS grace sets us free and makes us whole again - the once severed relationship between mankind and God has been restored - and one day we are all going home - leaving this place far behind - we must daily ask God if we are being self-servings and seeking - this world wants to make it all about you - Have it your way- you deserve a break today - and on and on -many catch phrases of today's life - we must move over and let the Spirit of the Living God into our lives - He wants to control our lives - not as if we were robots - but that God is in control and has an end result that will come to pass -
lets remember that our grace is not free -it cost JESUS HIS life -
Praise HIM for this!Lets be careful and not be stubborn and hardheaded when it comes to living our lives for the LORD our GOD!

grace-part-8-bask in HIS light!

John 12:46-47
I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believes on Me shall not abide in darkness. And if any man hear My words, and believes not, I judge him not: for I came not the judge the world, but to save the world.

This past Sunday's bible study was about abiding in Christ - one of the questions that was brought us was why did Jesus not come to judge the world? - the answer is simply He did not have to - the world laid condemned already - it started with one act of disobedience and it has multiplied time and time again - sin begets sin - and we get our sin nature from Adam - Adam had all he could ever want or need - but just like us humans- he wanted more - and this cost him so much - God brought him a helpmate and she was of little help when it came down to making a decision on whether or not to obey God- she knew the cost would be great and just like Adam - allowed sin to come into the generations after they left - and it is stilling going strong today - but the good news is that there is hope - since CHRIST is always with us - our hope is not gone - He came so far to save us - HE paid the price with HIS life - He knows us better then anyone - He wants us to bask in HIS great light - we all need to be filled with HIS SPIRIT in order that we live the life like we have called to live it-
We cannot shine on our own - but we need JESUS to do the work for us- while HE is no longer here in bodily form -He is coming back and sooner then we even think or imagine - but the good news is that HE is coming - so stay tuned - Christ is coming back - we can now bast in HIS light and know that we are to be in the light as HE is in the light -lets shine for JESUS today and always!

A SIDE NOTE:
We live in a world that is full of darkness - its all form the sin of this world- we all deserve the second death - but God is having mercy on us -let us thank HIM daily!

John 11:25&26
Jesus said: " I am the resurrection and the life; he that believes in Me though he be dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?


This series subject is grace- this is the whole point of our faith - we believe that we have received God's grace which was paid for on the cross by JESUS the SON!
We have eternal life now - not just when we die -and we have peace now - not just after we leave this place- we have life now in the flesh and forever life in the spirit!
The fact is we will all face this first death sooner or later -none of us is promised tomorrow - and life moves quickly - for some reason yesterday I was in a melancholy mood - I was thinking back on past years - on the events of my life- the where I was - what I was doing kind of thing - My mind drifted back to some bad times as well - but I can now see God's hand in it all -that is HIS grace - you know HE was guiding us before we even knew Him - while we were yet sinners living on our own -before we even knew we needed JESUS to save us - how much better life is now -now that I know the truth - Martha - who's brother had died and JESUS seemed to prolong HIS stay at another town - was up in arms and with reason -how many of us do the same now? We lose someone we love and we get angry at God - yes HE is in control -but when the times get bad we need to run to God not away from Him - but here lies the truth -the enemy will get in there and cause us to doubt God -we will have all these what if phrases- as if we could have changed the end result- this is really on my mind as one of my managers lost her Mother - I know how she must feel - its so hard to lose someone you love- but the good news in CHRIST is we never have to say good-bye -for we will see them again!
That's what grace is all about! Lets remember that JESUS has promised us many things and these things are as well as the air we breathe - you can count on whatever JESUS says! HE cannot lie! Praise GOD!


A SIDE NOTE:
When we close our lives in this life - it is not the end - the good news in JESUS is we will have no end -we will be in perfect unity and fellowship with GOD forever- there is nothing greater -the grave is but a door to the next life -the real life we were ment to live here before sin came in and destoryed this world -be thankful JESUS came and opened the door to heaven for us- WE WILL RISE AGAIN!

John 7:38
He that believes in ME, as the scripture has said,
out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water!


BC - before we came to know CHRIST we were lost and most of us if not all of did not even know we were lost - as I went with two guys from my church Sunday evening to go door to door to both invite people to church and to find out their spiritual condition and give them the best thing we could -JESUS CHRIST - we walked around the block and there were not many people home - that was until we met George - he is 70 years old and is the subject of the prayer request below - one of the guys with me said something very awesome -he said we have to get them lost before they can be saved -this is true of George and it was true of us - if we don't know we need JESUS why would we want HIM? This is fundamental to our faith - without HIS grace we all die in our sins - matter of fact if you don't have HIS grace in your life right now you are dead - you may feel very much alive - but in the spiritual sense you are dead as can be - JESUS comes into our lives and brings us back to life- true life - real life -and HIS goal is that one day we would be used to bring others to HIM - when this happens we shall have living water flowing out of us - and it will splash all those around us with the gospel of JESUS the LORD!
When we are living a life pleasing to God - our lives will be noticed by those around us - this is not to bring us glory which is wrong - but is to bring God glory - any time we go out and tell others of JESUS and what HE did for us and can do for them -we are brining HIS SPIRIT with us- and out of this flows the living waters that sustain life -lets walk in the LIGHT as HE is in the LIGHT! With Christ in our hearts -we cannot help but change- let these living waters flow out of you so others can see the goodness of the LORD our GOD! Flow like a river tide and true!

If our walk with the LORD Is not intimate - we begin to dry out - allow God's Spirit to bring you back to the place HE wants you - HE wants to fill us with living water so that we can spead HIS message to the masses - This is our mission -is any of us brave enough and have enought faith to begin? Let God lead you today and always!

John 6:40
And this is the will of the One who sent Me, that everyone which sees the Son, and believes on Him may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day!


The fact that we have never seen Jesus with our human eyes- says volumes about the faith that we must have - we believe in someone who we have never seen - and someone we cannot really prove -but yet we know HE is there- for our eyes of faith can see Him clearly -and even more clearly the closer and closer we get to our departure time - just look before you - many who have been walking with you have now gone to sleep - they have left this place and are now at home with the Lord -but without the Rescue Mission that JESUS was on - they would be dead in their transgressions - Jesus came so that we would have life and abundant life at that -all HE really ask of us in to believe- this does not mean if we believe our lives will be smooth - I know the truth that mine has not been smooth in a long time - but God is still good -there has been many ups and downs in each of our lives- but God is still faithful - and just because our eyes have not seen our LORD - does not mean HE is not there - many feel seeing is believing- but the Christian life is the opposite since we live it by faith - so we believe and by believing we see- the lost around us cannot see the Lord's hand at work -but we can - We can see that HE is in total and complete control -no matter what is happening in our lives at the moment -God is still in charge and despite a world that is going crazy - God is still there orchestrating it all for HIS purpose- and if we believe in HIM - He will rise us up on the last day and we will be with Him forever- think about that today!
JESUS came to save our souls - so that we would know HIM and make HIM known!

YOU MAY BE THE ONLY JESUS SOMEONE SEES - YOU MAY BE THE ONE GOD HAS CALLED TO SPEAK UP - WE HAVE TO MOVE BY FAITH - WE CANNOT DEPEND ON OUR SIGHT!

COMPASSION SUNDAY

Proverbs 31:8-9
Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy!

Today is the day when churches around the world have spokespeople who are speaking out for those who don't have a voice -these children go largely unnoticed in our busy day to day lives- many have missed the mandate that Jesus our Lord has given us to preach the gospel to all the world - Compassion International is a vehicle that can get that done - by sponsoring children - the least of these of this world - we can change lives - these children are taught about the love JESUS has for them and many are saved!! My first child - Walter was saved and therefore I believe in this ministry - today many will hear about the needs of the least of these for the first time - many may feel its not there problem -many feel that if they do not live in their geographical area that the responsibility does not reside in their shoulders - but God calls for us to reach out to help the least of these -HE dose not limit it by area - He wants the children to come - see JESUS when the disciples hush them - JESUS says for them to come to HIM and not to hinder them! Are we hindering them? Are we following Christ in all that we do - this is a simple thing that all of us can do - for just $32 a month you can change the life of a child - and when the life of the child is changed -their whole family changes and the gospel spreads like wildfire- and in the process your life can be change- its a challenge and not everyone can do it - but you can do something - if not with Compassion - plug in where God places you - the children are often the greatest victims of poverty - we must go forth and bring hope to these children - its the call JESUS has on our lives- to live a life of love -we are to love HIM with all our hearts and others as ourselves - if you feel so lead to sponcer a child - please visit the website below and met the challenge of changing the life of a child today - be apart of this World-Wide ministry today - God bless the children - and God bless you!

grace-part4-no condemnation

John 3:18
He that believes on Him is not condemned: but he that
believes not is condemned already, because he has not
believed in the name of the only Son of God.


Condemned before the end - is the phrase for today's devotional - you see the people who deny Christ right now are already condemned - its not some future occurrence - there are many who doubt the existence of God and to them we are naive and are extremists and are out of our minds - but the truth is we could not be in any better mind set- Christ has renewed our minds at conversion - but the process takes a lifetime to complete - those who deny God are already condemned in the same way that we who believe on JESUS are not condemned and never will be condemned -we however will face conviction - which is vastly different -when you are saved you get the Holy Spirit and He will direct all the ways of our lives- but we must listen to Him - or else we can easily be lead astray - those who deny God are already condemned - and we who believe are already heaven bound - even though we are still here right now- our eternity is secure! We must believe in CHRIST to be saved -without HIS saving grace -we would all die in our sins - but praise God - JESUS died and then rose again - proving once and for all HE is the Messiah and the Savior of the WORLD! PRAISE GOD! That's grace! That's God's grace!


A SIDE NOTE:
There are two facts - one we will all die in the flesh one day and two JESUS is coming back - the question is -are we ready for either one!
IF WE HAVE PUT ON CHRIST - WE WILL NOT BE CONDEMNED!

ALL WE NEED IS JESUS. PERIOD

The Daily Blueprint 4-19-07

grace-part3-no one can boast!

Ephesians 2:8&9
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is a gift of God: not by works, lest any man should boast.


The gospel is the message of God's love to this lost and dying world - God sent His Son to this world- God did not create Jesus - for Jesus has always been - Jesus came willing to die in our place- He opened for us heaven and shut the door closed to hell - Jesus came to save us - He came to serve and He came to live in perfect unity with God the Father! Grace is what is given to us by which we are saved - the important part of the equation is the Lord JESUS - He saved us - its HIS blood that makes us right with God - we could not be right without Jesus! If we could then we could boast- but since we cannot - we cannot boast in what we have done -we can however and should boast in what Christ has done for us - this was the way Paul put it - We must walk in Faith with JESUS in order to be saved -we cannot be saved by just doing all the right things- the religious things - but must have a life altering personal relationship with Christ- once you are in this relationship - your life should begin to change - some in small ways and others in major ways - God wants us to be like HIS SON -that is HIS goal for your life! We are going to be just like JESUS when the world ends! Not by our deeds - and not by our upbringing but by the grace that is only found in Christ Jesus - this may seem very radical but its at the core of our faith - without JESUS we have nothing to stand on - the WORD Is clear - we must trust JESUS and HIM alone to be made right with God the Father!
We cannot do this apart from the shed blood of JESUS the CHRIST!

A SIDE NOTE:
If we live apart from Jesus there is no hope - no salvation -and no future!

...And if by grace, then it is no more works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace:
Otherwise work is no more work!

The subject of Grace is a grand thing - God has given us all we need -we need not strive at all to earn it -that being said - I don't think either Paul nor God is saying we should stop trying to live righteously -but that this righteous living does not earn us a place in heaven - that would not be grace at all - but by works - many religions around the world teach a work theology - even some that claim to be Christ followers have claimed a work-based plan of salvation -now there is nothing wrong with works so long as we remember that there is no work we can do that will get us saved - we must admit first that God's way is the only way - and then He has to work on our hearts and convince us that His grace is true and then by faith we must accept it - but by doing so we do not save ourselves - we all need the blood of JESUS for salvation -there is no other way to obtain it - many feel if they can just change their actions -that then they can be saved -or if you just pray long enough or some even believe you must endure pain to be made right with God - none of these things save us - only the finished and completed work of Christ on the Cross can save us! We are not saved by works - or else there would be no grace - and works are works and good in themselves -but they cannot save us at all - we must keep this in sharp focus - all the good deeds we do are worthless if we don't do them to honor God - if we are trying to work our way to heaven -we will never make it - its by grace and by grace alone!THANK THE LORD THAT HE HAS PAID THE WAY FOR US!

It's Tax Day

Matthew 22:21
... Then HE (JESUS) said unto them- Render therefore unto Caesar, the things that are Caesar's: and unto the God the things that are God's!

Today is a day of regret for a great many -it's tax day - the day that comes once a year when we must pay our government what we owe - some of us are fortunate enough to get some back - as we have paid more in then we actually owed - this is good - but its our money that we have earned that we get back - many however will have to pay in much to be up to date with the IRS. What is the deal many wonder- do we have to pay taxes - the government says yes strongly -for if you don't you could go to jail and be fined -this is a lot less fun then just paying your taxes - but are we not to be obedient to God first -yes we are - but JESUS even said we should pay our taxes - He mentions in today's verse that we must render to the government what belongs to the government and if you are to live in this society we must pay taxes - we pay them every day - whatever you buy is taxes - we have no control over those taxes but the ones we file we have control over- Paul says in Romans Chapter 13 that we are to obey the government of our land and that includes paying taxes - its not up to us to decide how it is spent and once it has left our pockets - its out of our hands - when we obey the government we are obeying God since HE set up those over us - but when the government is going against God that is when we must take a stand - however paying taxes is not such an issue - there is not much play in this issue - we must pay our taxes -we can choice not to but there are stiff penalties for doing so - It's tax day - have you paid your taxes? How we handle the things of this world will determine how we handle what we get in the forever more - JESUS says that if we cannot be responsible with the small things - how can HE give us eternal things- before anyone says this is legalism - we must realize that if we love GOD we will obey HIM and please Him - there is no wriggle room -we cannot straddle the fence - we must choose sides - either we please GOD or we don't - lets honor our LORD by paying what is due to our government!
It's tax day and we will survive it another year!!

WE MUST BE WISE STREWARTS OF WHAT GOD GIVES US - THIS INCULDES PAYING OUR TAXES AND OTHER BILLS - LIVING A LIFE OF GRADITUDE THAT WE HAVE JOBS THAT CAUSE US TO HAVE TO PAY TAXES - HAPPY TAX DAY EVERYONE.

Romans 3:24-25
Being justified freely by HIS grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God had set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbarance of God.

What God did for us through the redemptive work of Christ was to bring us back into right standing with Himself -He longs for the day when all HIS children come home forever- He looks ahead to the end of time to the day when we can all be together again- its all through HIS grace - that is the part of this series we being today - Grace is unmerited favor - its something we cannot earn - but it must be given to us - Jesus died to bring us grace- like the song says - Grace is amazing -its the most wonderful thing that has ever been given to anyone - the fact that God will forgive all our sins is amazing - all our sins! Just think about all the failures of your past -they are gone in CHRIST -all the red sins are gone - replaced by HIS righteousness that is white as new fallen snow - God has taken our sins and placed them on HIS Son -who faced the grave for us - Jesus went to hell and back to save us! This is true -He did just that -we deserved hell but HE bought to us heaven! We deserved to be separated forever from God - but JESUS brought us all back together again -JESUS was willing to die for us - and HE wants us to be willing to live for Him - our lives now redeemed are to be lived out for JESUS our SAVIOR - Jesus died to bring us HIS grace- grace that is greater then all our sins- Amazing Grace -how sweet the sound -that saved a wretch like me - I once was lost but now I am found - Amazing Grace! God's grace is the most amazing thing there ever will be - that God looked down to us and said I am going to save them - is amazing- we don't deserve it so there should never be any boating - but only the boasting Paul did - in CHRIST alone - He is our Savior and the grace-giver! We would be lost without hope without Him - lets praise our Savior with our very lives!

atonement-part8-He tasted death

Hebrews 2:9
But we see JESUS, Who was made a little lower then the angels for the suffering of death, crowded with glory and honor: that He by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

This is the last edition of atonement and today's verse is vital! Without the suffering of our Lord JESUS CHRIST -none of us could be saved -Jesus was both GOD and man - He had to be both or He could not have died for us - His flesh was asking the Father if this cup He was about to drink could be passed away from Him - Jesus knew what the cost would be -and He was determined to pay the price in full - Jesus was made a little lower then the angles- He became a man of all things- a man who would suffer and die for our sins - but without God - this death would have meant nothing at all - JESUS had to be both man and God for this to take our sins away - He sacrificed Himself for our sins - The Creator for His creation - JESUS took our sins and nailed it to the cross and tasted death for us - now that this has happened Death has lost its sting - we no longer have to be afraid to die - for we know Heaven awaits - but still our flesh wants to live - we want to live here as long as we can because this is all we really know - however we have the promises of JESUS that we will one day be with HIM in paradise - lets remember the atoning death of JESUS - and what this means to us - we should forgive others more easily once we have seen what JESUS has done for us -lets worship the KING who died and was raised again to life- HE Lives so we can live! HE died so we don't have to face the second death! PRAISE THE LORD!

WHEN ASKED HOW MUCH HE LOVED US - JESUS SAID THIS MUCH AND STRETCHED OUT HIS HANDS AND DIED . . .

atonement-part7-Savior for all

1st Timothy 4:10
For therefore we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, Who is the Savior of all men, especially of those that believe!


Trusting Jesus as your savior does not mean your troubles are over - many ive known come to CHRIST and find that everything is not fixed and that problems still occur -as long as we live in this sin filled evil world -we will suffer -Jesus said so and I believe Him - why does someone who trusts Jesus lay dying of cancer -why does a marriage canted in Christ fall apart? Why does the ones child die far too early? These are questions that many of my brothers and sisters have gone through - we may ask why and why - but God is the answer -HE knows what is best and even when it does not seem so - He does know what He is doing - He sent HIS SON to die in our place- we have the promise of forgiveness of sins -we have the promise of eternal life - God has given us all we need - there however will be times of testing in our faith -Paul knew this and went through this - He was locked in jail -beaten - whipped and shipwrecked - He was killed for His faith - and he deemed it an honor to die for Christ - Paul said to live is Christ- to Die is gain! Its the truth!
Jesus came to save this world -and HE wants to be the Savior of all -His blood is available but yet some many choose to walk away from His offer of grace- His blood covers sin - so if you are not covered in HIS blood - your sins are exposed and God must turn HIS back - He cannot look upon Sin -so JESUS came to make us right in the sight of God - JESUS wants to be your savior today - won't you allow HIM too-
Coming to know HIM does not take the problems of this world away - but the one to come will be vastly different without knowing HIM - the choice is yours today!
Give up and accept JESUS into your heart- HE will save you! Amen!

THE BLOOD OF JESUS IS ALL WE NEED - NOTHING MORE - NOTHING LESS!

JOHN 3:16-18
For God so loved the world He gave HIS only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not parish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved. He that believes on Him is not condemned: but he that does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed on the name of the only begotten Son of God!


Today's verse is most likely the most famous of all verses- however many just put the address and numbers on a big board at ball games - many have no idea what it really means- how very sad - this verse sums up the Whole Gospel - that God sent His Son into the world to save the world and not condemn it - we should note that it is not our job to condemn others- that should be left up to God - He simply wants us to love others and if you judge them that won't happen - the Word say that Jesus did not come into this world to condemn it - but to save it - many with good hearts often fail to see this simple truth - many think they have been called to point out other people's flaws - to seem better - or holier then thou - but the truth of the matter is we all have to come to the CHRIST the same way - we all must believe that HE died for our sins and rose again- we must accept this in order that we be saved!
JESUS paid the price -and in full -there is nothing left to pay and CHRIST does not have to be crucified again for us- our sins in CHRIST are gone - He took them and nailed them to the cross - GOD sent HIS Son into this world to save the lost -this simple message is so profound many pass it by without thinking twice- many think they don't sin -many feel that they don't need JESUS - but the truth we all need JESUS - and we need HIS grace moment by moment- we are not our own - the atonement for our sins has been made and is complete - unlike the animals that had to be sacrificed over and over - and did not really forgive our sins - JESUS died once for all -and HE rose up from that grave for all of us - GOD so loved the WORLD that HE gave -HE gave HIS SON - His Son JESUS CHRIST our LORD!
GOD IS SO GOOD - HE DID NOT SPARE HIS SON - BUT OFFERED HIM UP WITHOUT RESERVATION - JESUS SAVES EVEN TODAY!

WHAT CAN WASH AWAY MY SIN? NOTHING BUT THE BLOOD OF JESUS!

atonement-part5-the high price of sin. . .

Romans 6:23
For the wedges of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord!

Before our conversion we were lost and did not know God - and yet He formed us in our mother's womb - He knew us before we were born -the Word of God says that HE knit us together - He knows all about us - more then we even know about ourselves -and He knew that sending HIS Son was the only way for the world to be saved - Today's verse says that the wedges of sin is death -this is so true- it was the first sin in the garden that brought death to the human race and everything on the Earth - nothing here will last forever- speaking on the subject of things of this world not lasting -I thought about how earlier this month the temps were in the mid to upper 80's - but last Tuesday we have severe weather and a cold snap followed- and all the plants around this area have suffered- its hard to believe that one day they were flourishing with new Spring growth -only to have a deep freeze late in the season come and take all that away - that is the same thing sin does- we may go along for a while enjoying some sin for a season -but the price for what joy we think it brings us - is very high - it cost JESUS HIS Life and not only that - it cost us intimacy with God -its true all our sins are forgiven when we allow Christ to come into our lives and save us - but still sin in our life costs dearly - how can we be an effective witness for Christ if we are caught up in sin - we must deny ourselves and follow HIM - Be thankful that JESUS was willing to die for us -our sins placed HIM on that cross but HIS Love for us kept HIM there - HE had every right to come down from the cross - after all He never did anything wrong - but HIS mission would have failed if HE had done that - God is Holy and HE must punish sin - He cannot just forget about it without the shedding of blood - the blood of the perfect Lamb of God!
Lets rejoice in the fact that JESUS died for our sins - making us right with the Father - but lets not forget what a great cost our sin comes with - death - and this price must be paid but JESUS and if not we must pay it - and that means eternal separation from God forever- there is no second chances once we leave this place- this is what the atonement was all about - JESUS became Sin for us - yet knew no sin - He never sinned one! That's the LORD we praise! Amen!

SIN ALWAYS COSTS SOMETHING NONE OF US CAN PAY ON OUR OWN! JESUS PAID THE PRICE FOR OUR SINS - THE PAYMENT WAS IN HIS BLOOD! PRAISE JESUS!!

Foreasmuch as you know that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver or gold, from your vain conversion received by tradition from your fathers; but with the precious blood of Christ, as of the lamb without blemish or spot!


Our salvation does not have a price other then the life and death of JESUS our LORD - HE paid the price in full -as we have seen during this past Holy Week and Easter Sunday -we have gone from the triumphal entry - to the last supper and on to the cross - and to the tomb - finally we celebrated our LORD rising up from the dead - leaving the grave clothes behind - Death could not hold HIM!!
We cannot buy our salvation with the things of this world- money is worthless at forgiving sins - only the spotless lamb of God could bring us what we could not bring to ourselves- Salvation cost JESUS His life- it was very expensive - the riches of this world pale in comparison and are passing away - but what God has done through the LAMB lasts forever - once we come to know HIM in a personal way - our lives begin to change- we become more and more like Him - through no effort of our own -its not about us - we could not do it - only JESUS could and HE did just that for you and me -we have been through the last week of Jesus' life and we have seen HIM heal the sick -and confuse the wise- He has embraced the humble and rejected those full of pride -JESUS came to save us - and His mission is now complete - Are you washed in the blood of the LAMB? He wants to save you today - The tomb is empty - JESUS is risen! You can be too if you would ask HIM to save you today - the atonement of JESUS CHRIST is seen in our lives - our actions all in worship of our LORD and SAVIOR!HE LIVES -CHRIST THE LORD LIVES!AND HE WANTS TO LIVE IN YOU TODAY!
PRAISE HIM FOR THIS!

Darkness had fallen on the Earth when Jesus breathed His last. . . . move forward to Sunday morning - those who loved Jesus mourned His death many thinking all that had been said was just wishful thinking -even the women who came to the tomb on the third day - thought the Body of JESUS was taken and their best plans ruined - but this was not the end of the story - We are here today following Jesus because it was true- JESUS was no longer there- but had been RISEN from the DEAD!
TODAY is the DAY of DAYS! JESUS lives today!
CHRIST went to the cross and to the grave but rose again the third day!
OUR HOPE RESTS IN THIS TRUTH!
The pain of Good Friday - the hopeless of Holy Saturday all brought to us the good news of CHRIST being raised from the dead on Sunday!!!!
All seemed a loss when JESUS was on the cross - many had run away thinking all their hope was gone - the followers of JESUS hid themselves- the government believed they had taken care of JESUS one and for all - they thought He was just a hoax- but whoa!!!! all that changed come Sunday morning - JESUS rose from the dead - and now lives! Because HE rose we too will rise again! Our end with our last breathe is not the end - we continue on somewhere - and there are only two choices - Heaven or hell - there is no middle ground - today of all days - if you don't know JESUS why not ask HIM to save you today - YOU will then RISE & SHINE - you will be risen from the dead - you are dead in your spirit if you don't know JESUS -
HE came from heaven to Earth - became a man of all things and died for you - He was buried and descended to hell for you - and on the third day rose again!!! THE GRAVE COULD NOT HOLD HIM!
TODAY THE LORD HAS BEEN RAISED!
You can be raised to new life too - just trust JESUS to be your LORD and SAVIOR and HE will save you - join in the jubilant celebration today - because a child of God -what better way to celebrate this day!?
JESUS was killed - buried but in the end HE Rose again!

JOHN 19:40-42
Then they took the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury. Now in the place where He was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden was a new tomb, where no one was ever laid. There they laid Jesus therefore because of the Jews perpetration day; for the tomb was right at hand.

Today we celebrate Holy Saturday -the day Jesus descended to the dead to take on satan and his regime - Jesus won the battle down there and also the battle of the tomb - As I was praying yesterday afternoon this thought came to me - Jesus had become a man so He could die for our sins -otherwise no one could have taken His life- which by the way was laid down -no one could take HIS life in reality! Jesus had just been killed- His now lifeless body was moved to a tomb near -by - because the Jews would not allow any bodies to remain on the crosses after sundown since it was Passover -Jesus suffered and died for us - HE gave HIS life so you and me could live with HIM forever- Jesus told one of the thieves that he would be with Jesus in paradise- this same massage is for us who have accepted His free gift of salvation - Jesus was placed in a new tomb in a garden - He was placed there with dignity and care - His followers were always close by - they would suffer for JESUS as well - but that will happen much later- right now it seems like JESUS has been defeated and another rabble-rouser has been put to death and out of the way - still the authorities placed guards at the Tombs door and rolled a large stone to keep Jesus' followers away from taking the body - those guards got a surprise the day after that when JESUS will conquer the grave and hell - He will have completed all that was needed to save us all - JESUS our LORD laid down HIS life to save us!
This Holy Saturday -lets celebrate HIS Life and remember HIS death!
For the SON will rise soon! Rise and Shine for JESUS today-
JESUS was gone three days - but HE never left our side -His death brought us life- lets spring forth in praise tomorrow for JESUS will rise again!!!!!

ISAIAH 53:5
For He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed!!!!!

Today is Good Friday - the greatest day of all time, well next to Easter Morning when we celebrate the resurrection of our LORD and SAVIOR JESUS the CHRIST! There would not be an Easter Sunday without a Good Friday or Holy Saturday - all go hand and hand - I must confess this week as I have searched the scriptures to find just the right passage - its been a hard search - but not today!! When I grabbed the Bible and opened the pages it fell open to today's verse- the interesting thing about this is this verse always runs on Livin in prayer- so its been featured every time ive sent out this prayer email - however it takes a whole new meaning today!
JESUS was killed because of HIS love for us and our Sins caused Him to come from Heaven to place HIS life on the line for us - Many of you have seen the Passion - and you can see just how much JESUS suffered for us - but He did suffer just to prove how tough He was - there was purpose in His sufferings- they were first and foremost God's plan - The Mission of JESUS was to save that which was lost - that is just what He did-

Today we remember His Sacrifice- He was nailed to the cross around 9am in the morning -after an all night beating and judgment- He was sent to judge after judge - and people made a mocker of Him - He had no sleep and nothing to eat -He was beaten so hard that He was hardly recognized as the same JESUS who used to play and teach at the temple as a child -who healed the blind and sick and demon possesed - This was a blooded man - but God's son! He was innocent but the rulers deemed Him guilty - He laid HIS life down - the Cross - an alter - the Cross -where JESUS saved the lost -Jesus saw the cross from day 1 - He knew one day would come and HE would die on that cross - and I am sure as a child Jesus saw many crucified and knew it would be Him up there on day - JESUS willing went - no one took HIS life from Him - He took everything He had and laid it down on the cross -without the cross - there would be no Savior and without a Savior there would be no hope for the lost -all of us are like sheep says the next verse - we all go astray - Jesus died for us knowing we would still sin against Him - and yet while we were yet sinners Christ died for us - around 3pm Jesus breathed His last breath . . . . . . . . . .

Luke 22:15b-16
... With desire I have desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer; for I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God!

Jesus is getting ready to take the long walk to the cross- the Passover dinner is His way of saying good-bye to His 11 disciples -they have spent 3 years with JESUS - and He is now ready to leave them - He knows the cross is being prepared as He prepares to say good-bye - Jesus has just washed the feet of His followers- and Peter - in rare form - at first says for JESUS not to wash his feet- but when JESUS tells him he must- Peter responds with a request to have his head and hands cleaned too - Jesus was serving them one last time -before HE was to die - He heard the call of the Father and Judas has gone out to turn Jesus in - Jesus knows this and takes each moment and savors it - He wants to teach His followers one last thing - He says to Peter that he will deny HIM three times- He tells that one of them is going to turn Him over to the authorities to be killed - Jesus knew the time was at hand - and nothing short of the Father changing His mind would Jesus not die - JESUS was willing to do whatever it took to save us!
He suffered for us - He was willing to do this - He reminds His followers of the call to be His - a call that means we must live the life at all times - we may and sometimes will suffer for following Jesus but its worth it -
lets walk still closer to the cross - Jesus will soon be tried and committed to death for no crime at all - they say blasphemy -but since JESUS is GOD'S Son this is not possible- but the mission is to be competed and nothing was gonna stop this from happening - its time - JESUS is ready - lets head toward Good Friday and beyond - we must be ready to RISE and SHINE in all that we do and say - the day draws near - Lets remember JESUS!

The morning before the Passover - JESUS was getting ready - HE had much to do and very little time - the cross could not wait - the time was right - JESUS did this for you and me -praise HIM!

because CHRIST we can know what it means to serve others!

RansomMARK 10:45For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister,and to give His life as a ransom for many!Jesus came not to be served but to serve others -He came to minister to others and not to receive anything in return - Jesus came as a servant of the most High God - God in the flesh - the God of all creation serving man - what a strange way to save the world - a song by 4HIM has said -Jesus also came to die for the lost -for the sinners - He came to lay His very life down -He showed us the example - HE is the example -He lived the perfect Life without sin!He was tempted just like us - but never once gave in! We should pattern our life after Jesus -We need to trust HIM to live in us to produce the fruit of righteousness - that on our own is only filthy rags - Many times in the church today we seek a church that will help us -Without thinking about what we can do for others -We are all a part of the body of Christ - and all of us if we would only look - have a place in which to work - to work at saving souls with JESUS!Without Christ - no one can be saved -It took His life and death to bring us salvation!Never forget those wonderful words of President JFK - "Ask not what your county can do for you - but ask what YOU can do for your country!"The same concept needs to be in the church of today - we need to be seeking a place in which to plug into - to be of use to others - to show JESUS to the lost and to live the life!Lets remember we are all in the same boat -JESUS brought us salvation - lets bring it to others! Lets live our faith in action!---------------------------------------------------------------Through Christ we can serve with grace!____________________________________________

Luke 9:22
. . .The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day!

Today I want to talk about the purpose of Jesus coming to this earth - in this verse Jesus tells His followers and anyone else who could hear that He must die - He must suffer and He must be buried only to rise again on the Third day - I did not get a count of how many times the followers of Jesus heard Him say this - but it was at least 5 or more times - Jesus kept saying it over and over and yet it still was a shock when He laid His life down - this whole season is about what JESUS did for us - He came so far and stopped so low to save us - no one else could do what JESUS did - no way - no how! Jesus came because of Love -His Love for the Father - which by the way is in perfect unity - between Father - Son and Holy Spirit - and He has no beginning and no end and to top it all of is outside of Time - He stepped into time and into the world He created so He could save us - no one has gone father to save us - and no one else can save us - only JESUS and HIM alone!
Jesus had one mission in mind - to save that which was lost -along the way toward the cross -JESUS ministered and healed many - He did many miracles to show the world HE is God! There is no one else like JESUS - He is one of king and the only one worthy to pay the price of our sin debt! We must understand the pain JESUS went though for us did not begin at the cross -but 33 years before that -He was born in a barn in the middle of nowhere - during a highly violent and political time - He came just at the right now to save the world- Jesus had this plan from the beginning and knew He would have to die for those who were lost -Jesus suffered many things on the way to the cross - He had to become a man of all things! He had to come into time - He had to become a part of His own creation - but yet HE did all that for you and me - He deemed us worth saving - He saw the promise of the Father and obeyed Him perfectly -lets take more steps toward the cross - its coming into view! Jesus is coming - the King is coming! Jesus is coming!

If you want to really follow JESUS then you must go through various trials - you must accept any and all pain that you receive and you must not do it by your own power! Lean on JESUS - the One who came from Heaven to Earth to save our souls - PRAISE HIM TODAY - amen!

because CHRIST came to this world - we can be saved!

And if I, if I be lifted up from the Earth, will draw all men to Me!

Jesus fresh from coming into the city of Jerusalem on a donkey -thus fulfilling prophesy of the Messiah - Jesus began to tell the people what was going to happen to Him- many thought He would defeat the Roman government right then and there and take up the throne of David! Many thought Jesus would be the conquering King written about - He is and Was but not like they thought HE would be - they expected a ruling Earthly King - but what JESUS really was is a humble servant - God's Son- and King of Kings but a servant - JESUS said HE came to serve and not to be served - as we continue this walk toward the cross -we will see just what all He is saying right here means- If HE be lifted up from the Earth - He will draw all men to Himself -this same call goes out today - Jesus Our Lord was Lifted up HIGH on the CROSS for our sins - HE laid down HIS life for us - His mission (Which we will go into more tomorrow) Was the save the lost -to save us - if you know JESUS today - its because HE was lifted up for you and now you know this awesome truth - soon Jesus would pay the price- His riches for our depravity - He has everything and was willing to die to give us HIS grace! This series this year is called Rise and Shine - first we must remember that because JESUS rose -we will rise too -and because of this truth and the truth that JESUS now takes up residence in our hearts by faith - we will also shine for Him - During my week of God has really been speaking to me about loving others -you see you can be ministry and not really love- this is a hard saying but true - we must love first -because HE first loved us! JESUS gave HIS Life so that we could rise and shine for HIM - its not about us - its all about HIM - join me won't you in this walk toward the cross - we will see JESUS as the servant and ruling KING He is - we will see Him humble Himself many times on the way to HIS death - but this is not the end -come SUNDAY - JESUS will conquer even the grave!Lets Rise and Shine for JESUS!HE died for you -won't you live for HIM?

We rise and shine because JESUS walked the road to Calvary - with one thing in mind - saving you and me! Praise GOD!

Part 1 : HERE COMES THE KING!

JOHN 12:12-14
On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, took branches of palm trees, and went forth the met Him, and cried "Hosanna: Blessed is He that comes in the name of the LORD!"


Yesterday morning during our church's worship service a lady sang a song called THE KING IS COMING - this really inspired me - and I felt lead to make this the lead-off devotional for the Holy Week and Easter - We are moving into the final weeks of the LIFE of JESUS! His life as His followers knew would be over soon- I thought today we would start with Palm Sunday even if today is Monday - you must notice I am a day behind this week due to bad weather in our area - which reminds me of the power of Almighty God - amen! As we continue toward the events of Holy Week- lets follow JESUS - lets see the steps He took the cross and beyond - this week we are to focus on JESUS and just what HE did for us -
there is so much to say - that I really don't know where to begin then the triumphant entry - our LORD and SAVIOR came into Jerusalem - riding a donkey - we would not think much of this - but the bible scholars of the day and the religious leaders knew the prophesies surrounding the Messiah - and here was JESUS riding on the donkey and all these people - and children running up to worship Him - laying down palm branches - clothes and anything else to show JESUS they loved Him and worshiped Him as the King - but some must have thought JESUS was coming to take the throne - we all know now HE already a throne that was much higher then any earthly one! But JESUS came to die - this shocked many - and its funny how on this day JESUS was being worshiped as the King of kings and a few days later these same people - will call for His death! Jesus came in the claim HIS victory that has become our victory - JESUS did not act like the religious leaders wanted Him to act -and this dying stuff was more then they could understand - they had an attitude that if JESUS says HE is going to die - we can help Him -they wanted to overthrow JESUS and yet JESUS did not want to take the throne in Rome - His mission was to die for us- to give up His life for ours- we must lay it all down for JESUS - palms and all -and follow Him to the cross and beyond - as we leave this scene of jubilation - we must not forget why JESUS came - it was not to celebrate - it was to die - lets follow JESUS down to road and up the hill to Calvary - and beyond!WORSHIP THE KING - THE KING IS COMING! AMEN!
IN CHRIST we are children of the KING!
