UNTO US
part eight
LUKE 2:11
For unto you is born this day in the city of David
a Savior, Which is CHRIST the LORD.

As we say good-bye to another CHRISTmas season- lets not forget that all this was done unto us - God sent His Son to save us! Even with all our sin and imperfections - He still died for us - fully knowing the sins we would commit - He was still willing to die for us - He took the sting from death - and it all started in a manager - with the birth of a baby - Jesus - He was born in a lowly stable and would die on a rugged cross - This season is all about giving our ourselves for others - Jesus is our example - its been a fun and rewarding devotional series during the Holidays- but like all things here on Earth is has to come to an end - I try and hang onto CHRISTmas as long as I can - while those around me take down their trees and lights and get back to normal -whatever normal is. God has given us the greatest Gift of all - His Son -and this Gift will return one day - when He comes to take us home!
As we leave CHRISTmas - we look forward to next year -but not only that - we look back to the year 2007 -its been a hard year for me and my family and I know the only reason we have made it - is CHRIST and HIM alone - He was born in a stable - but His presence in our lives has caused a rebirth in our hearts! We are not the same any more - I realized that during my drive home last night - something changed in my heart 15 years ago and ive never been the same - God is forever faithful - He has a plan even when it makes no sense - how much sense did it make to have the King of kings born in a lowly stable - or to have JESUS nailed to a cross between two criminals and to see Him die - that made no sence - but in the end God put it all together -its the same with us - so I bid farewell to CHRISTmas 2007 and look forward to 2008 - God bless you and keep you - may HIS face shine upon you and remain with you always!
Praise HIS mighty name - this was all done unto us!
Unto us! Praise JESUS!

this CHRISTmas-praise GOD for the birth of JESUS and for our rebirth!

LUKE 2:11
For unto you is born this day in the city of David
a Savior, Which is CHRIST the LORD.

I can hardly believe that CHRISTmas is already over- it seemed to come up quickly and it passed me by before I knew it - CHRISTmas can do that sometimes - already the trees and lights are coming down and the gifts that were brought have been returned - returned for something better - or perhaps bigger after a round of great food! We seem to move quickly from CHRISTmas and into the new year so very soon- the time away from work and with family has been a blessing -although some have to work just like any other time of the year.
Jesus Christ came unto us among the business of the business at hand - many did not know that God's Son was even born - they had things to do - and they missed Him - I pray we don't make the same mistake - a song by Casting Crowns asked the question - will we be sleeping when Christ returns just like many slept when He had arrived the first time - as we move away from CHRISTmas and look ahead to next year -lets always remember that CHRIST came to save the lost - to heal the broken and to give glory to HIS FATHER! This is a great time of year - but lets not forget those who feel forgotten - you never know who may feel this way - while we have been wrapped up in festivities and wrapping gifts - there are those who have a very hard time this time of year - pray for them - remember CHRIST came for the sick -the sin sick -not those who though they were good - HE came for you and me - lets celebrate CHRISTmas year round - for CHRIST is LORD of all - and at all times - lets not let CHRISTmas become some afterthought but allow it to be in the forefront of our minds - soon the festivities will die down -but God's love for us never will! Praise be to GOD!

this CHRISTmas-celebrate the ONE who came for us - Unto us..CHRIST came!

LUKE 2:11
For unto you is born this day in the city of David
a Savior, Which is CHRIST the LORD.

Today -the day after CHRISTmas - many are glad its all over -many have spent too much money - ate too much food and gotten too many possessions -but like it or not -that is what CHRISTmas is about for so many - the Baby seems to get hidden in all the wrapping paper and egg nog - don't get me wrong - I love all the traditions of CHRISTmas - but for some reason this year has been different - CHRISTmas seemed to have come and go very quickly - I guess when you have done CHRISTmas 38 times - it gets to be normal - nothing that special - again don't get me wrong -the Birth of CHRIST our SAVIOR is very special -but all the rest of the stuff many of us do is not the true meaning of CHRISTmas - its not bad to give someone you love a gift and its a great thing to help others -but for some reason some of us think that once CHRISTmas is gone -we can go back to our selfish ways - this is not how it should be - for unto us GOD sent HIS SON - to save us EVERYDAY not just one day - HE is not LORD and SAVIOR of just one day - but of all days- all that has been and all that will be - HE alone is worthy of our praise -its HIS birthday that we celebrate!
Today spend a little time thinking about just what GOD has done unto us - He gave us HIS only SON so that we would be spared eternal separation from GOD our FATHER - today lets make a new commitment to serving CHRIST - give HIM a gift this year - yourself!
Unto Us the SAVIOR was born!

this CHRISTmas-Praise GOD for JESUS HIS SON!

ISAIAH 9:6
For unto us a child is born, unto us a child is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulders: and His name shall be called, Wonderful, Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.
The day is finally here - I have changed gears just a bit - but will get back to the verse I have been using tomorrow- but today I thought I would use this verse- it conveys what CHRISTmas is all about - its about JESUS and HIS Birth -that is what this day is all about - Jesus came to Earth - from Heaven above - to live life as a mere man - a man who would lay down His life for the sins of all - He is the Prince of Peace - He brought us peace when we deserved eternal punishment - He is the Mighty God - HE came to bring HIS everlasting peace to our hearts - He did not come to bring peace on earth - that will not happen until He returns- oh and yes He is going to back soon!
Jesus came as a babe the first time -but when He comes back He will be the Almighty God and is entrance will be very different - but now lets look at JESUS - He is our whole purpose and this is the day we celebrate all that unfolded when God came near - Jesus has come - we rejoice in this! He has many names and I love that HE is called Wonderful - Christ is wonderful and His peace goes from the beginning of time to end - this is the day we celebrate the birth of God's only Son- to be sure Jesus has always been -but He entered this lowly world like we all do - through a woman! But not any woman - this woman was a virgin - she never knew a man before Jesus was born! The amazing thing is this baby was from the Holy Spirit!
He began in a manger and would end up upon the cross - and then to the grave that He would arise from three day's later - these two must be connected -we don't just celebrate a baby -but what that baby would become - the Savior of the World!Lets rejoice in what GOD has done unto us!
Lets praise HIS name and wish our Savior happy birthday!
He came from heaven to earth to save us - What a blessing!Lets celebrate JESUS - while we open the gifts - spend time with family and think about Him - we must do as Mary did and contemplate what God has done for us in the little baby in the manger and the man He would become at the cross!Merry CHRISTmas to one and all - Praise Be to GOD!
The Mighty One - the Everlasting Father -Prince of Peace - our all in all! Praise HIS name forever!

this CHRISTmas-Rejoce that JESUS was born!!

IT'S CHRISTmas day - the day of rejoicing for CHRIST the LORD has been born unto us!
Subject: Awesome Christmas Story
The old man sat in his gas station on a cold Christmas Eve. He hadn't been anywhere in years since his wife had passed away. It was just another day to him. He didn't hate Christmas, just couldn't find a reason to celebrate. He was sitting there looking at the snow that had been falling for the last hour and wondering what it was all about when the door opened and a homeless man stepped through.
Instead of throwing the man out, Old George as he was known by his customers, told the man to come and sit by the heater and warm up. "Thank you, but I don't mean to intrude," said the stranger. "I see your busy, I'll just go." "Not without something hot in your belly." George said. He turned and opened a wide mouth Thermos and handed it to the stranger. "It ain't much, but it's hot and tasty, "Stew ... made it myself. When you're done, there's coffee and it's fresh." Just at that moment he heard the "ding" of the driveway bell. "Excuse me, be right back," George said. There in the driveway was an old '53 Chevy. Steam was rolling out of the front. The driver was panicked. "Mister can you help me!" said the driver, with a deep Spanish accent. "My wife is with child and my car is broken." George opened the hood. It was bad. The block looked cracked from the cold, the car was dead. "You ain't going in this thing," George said as he turned away.
"But Mister, please help ..." The door of the office closed behind George as he went inside. He went to the office wall and got the keys to his old truck, and went back outside. He walked around the building, opened the garage, started the truck and drove it around to where the couple was waiting. "Here, take my truck," he said. "She ain't the best thing you ever looked at, but she runs real good."

George helped put the woman in the truck and watched as it sped off into the night. He turned and walked back inside the office. "Glad I gave 'em the truck, their tires were shot too. That 'ol truck has brand new ." George thought he was talking to the stranger, but the man had gone. The thermos was on the desk, empty, with a used coffee cup beside it. "Well, at least he got something in his belly," George thought.

George went back outside to see if the old Chevy would start. It cranked slowly, but it started. He pulled it into the garage where the truck had been. He thought he would tinker with it for something to do. Christmas Eve meant no customers. He discovered the block hadn't cracked, it was just the bottom hose on the radiator. "Well, shoot, I can fix this," he said to him self. So he put a new one on.
"Those tires ain't gonna get 'em through the winter either." He took the snow treads off of his wife's old Lincoln. They were like new and he wasn't going to drive the car anyway. As he was working, he heard shots being fired. He ran outside and beside a police car an officer lay on the cold ground. Bleeding from the left shoulder, the officer moaned, "Please help me."

George helped the officer inside as he remembered the training he had received in the Army as a medic. He knew the wound needed attention. "Pressure to stop the bleeding," he thought. The uniform company had been there that morning and had left clean shop towels. He used those and duct tape to bind the wound. "Hey, they say duct tape can fix anythin'," he said, trying to make the policeman feel at ease. "Something for pain," George thought. All he had was the pills he used for his back. "These ought to work." He put some water in a cup and gave the policeman the pills. "You hang in there, I'm going to get you an ambulance." The phone was dead. "Maybe I can get one of your buddies on that there talk box out in your car." He went out only to find that a bullet had gone into the dashboard destroying the two way radio.

He went back in to find the police man sitting up. "Thanks," said the officer. "You could have left me there. The guy that shot me is still in the area." George sat down beside him, "I would never leave an injured man in the Army and I ain't gonna leave you." George pulled back the bandage to check for bleeding. "Looks worse than what it is. Bullet passed right through 'ya. Good thing it missed the important stuff though. I think with time your gonna be right as rain."

George got up and poured a cup of coffee. "How do you take it?" he asked. "None for me," said the officer. "Oh, yer gonna drink this. Best in the city. Too bad I ain't got no donuts." The officer laughed and winced at the same time.

The front door of the office flew open. In burst a young man with a gun. "Give me all your cash! Do it now!" the young man yelled. His hand was shaking and George could tell that he had never done anything like this before. "That's the guy that shot me!" exclaimed the officer. "Son, why are you doing this?" asked George, "You need to put the cannon away. Somebody else might get hurt."

The young man was confused. "Shut up old man, or I'll shoot you, too. Now give me the cash!" The cop was reaching for his gun. "Put that thing away," George said to the cop, "we got one too many in here now." He turned his attention to the young man. "Son, it's Christmas Eve. If you need money, well then, here. It ain't much but it's all I got. Now put that pee shooter away."

George pulled $150 out of his pocket and handed it to the young man, reaching for the barrel of the gun at the same time. The young man released his grip on the gun, fell to his knees and began to cry. "I'm not very good at this am I? All I wanted was to buy something for my wife and son," he went on. "I've lost my job, my rent is due, my car got repossessed last week."

George handed the gun to the cop. "Son, we all get in a bit of squeeze now and then. The road gets hard sometimes, but we make it through the best we can."
He got the young man to his feet, and sat him down on a chair across from the cop. "Sometimes we do stupid things." George handed the young man a cup of coffee. "Bein' stupid is one of the things that makes us human. Comin' in here with a gun ain't the answer. Now sit there and get warm and we'll sort this thing out."

The young man had stopped crying. He looked over to the cop. "Sorry I shot you. It just went off. I'm sorry officer." "Shut up and drink your coffee." the cop said.
George could hear the sounds of sirens outside. A police car and an ambulance skidded to a halt. Two cops came through the door, guns drawn. "Chuck! You ok?" one of the cops asked the wounded officer. "Not bad for a guy who took a bullet. How did you find me?" "GPS locator in the car. Best thing since sliced bread. Who did this?" the other cop asked as he approached the young man. Chuck answered him, "I don't know. The guy ran off into the dark. Just dropped his gun and ran." George and the young man both looked puzzled at each other. "That guy work here?," the wounded cop continued. "Yep," George said, "just hired him this morning. Boy lost his job."

The paramedics came in and loaded Chuck onto the stretcher. The young man leaned over the wounded cop and whispered, "Why?" Chuck just said, "Merry Christmas boy ... and you too, George, and thanks for everything."
]
"Well, looks like you got one doozy of a break there. That ought to solve some of your problems." George went into the back room and came out with a box. He pulled out a ring box. "Here you go, something for the little woman. I don't think Martha would mind. She said it would come in handy some day." The young man looked inside to see the biggest diamond ring he ever saw. "I can't take this," said the young man. "It means something to you." "And now it means something to you," replied George. "I got my memories. That's all I need."
George reached into the box again. An airplane, a car and a truck appeared next. They were toys that the oil company had left for him to sell. "Here's something for that little man of yours." The young man began to cry again as he handed back the $150 that the old man had handed him earlier. "And what are you supposed to buy Christmas dinner with? You keep that too, George said, Now git home to your family." The young man turned with tears streaming down his face. "I'll be here in the morning for work, if that job offer is still good." "Nope. I'm closed Christmas day," George said. "See ya the day after."

George turned around to find that the stranger had returned. "Where'd you come from? I thought you left?"

"I have been here. I have always been here," said the stranger." You say you don't celebrate Christmas. Why?" "Well, after my wife passed away, I just couldn't see what all the bother was. Puttin' up a tree and all seemed a waste of a good pine tree. Bakin' cookies like I used to with Martha just wasn't the same by myself and besides I was gettin' a little chubby."

The stranger put his hand on George's shoulder. "But you do celebrate the holiday, George. You gave me food and drink and warmed me when I was cold and hungry. The woman with child will bear a son and he will become a great doctor. The policeman you helped will go on to save 19 people from being killed by terrorists.

The young man who tried to rob you will make you a rich man and not take any for himself. "That is the spirit of the season and you keep it as good as any man."
George was taken aback by all this stranger had said. "And how do you know all this?" asked the old man.

"Trust me, George. I have the inside track on this sort of thing. And when your days are done you will be with Martha again."

The stranger moved toward the door. "If you will excuse me, George, I have to go now. I have to go home where there is a big celebration planned."

George watched as the old leather jacket and the torn pants that the stranger was wearing turned into a white robe. A golden light began to fill the room.

"You see, George ... it's My birthday. Merry Christmas."

George fell to his knees and replied, "Happy Birthday, Lord

The Christmas Present

By: Billy M. Smallwood
I heard a knock on my door one Christmas EveAs I looked out my window, a man I could seeHe was cold and seemed so lonely And he was upon a bended knee.
He asked, “Can you spare anything for me to eat?”I opened up the door and as I helped him inHe looked up at me with such a peaceful grin.As he drank down some coffee and had a bite to eatI put more wood on the fire so he could warm his feetOver there by the fireplace he warmed his tired handsI wonder where did he come from, This quiet, white haired man?
But I wasn't at all afraid of his peaceful ways, You see, this man dressed in poor, almost as poor as me
As he left, he turned and thanked me for all I had doneBut he forgot to take his gloves, so out the door I run.He was gone in the blizzard and I couldn't hardly see,So I took his ole gloves back to the house with me
Just a little after midnight, I awoke in the dark; There wasn't a bit of fire, just glowing cinders A little spark,And where I'd placed his gloves by my little Christmas treeThere laid a brand new pairAnd a Christmas Card for me.And it read. . . .
You gave me shelter and food to keep me warm; You even tried to bring me my old gloves in the storm,So here's you a new pair,. . . the finest ever seen . . .As an angel of the Lord,I'll be sure to tell the King. . . .Merry Christmas . . .
May God fill your home with peace and your heart with quiet wonder at the miracle of Jesus.
MERRY CHRISTmas from LIVIN IN THE WORD!

LUKE 2:11
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, Which is CHRIST the LORD.

The place in which Christ would be born was foretold thousands of years before His birth - Bethlehem is the City of David - the reason being is Jesus' earthly Father Joseph was from the lineage of David. It is to note that Christ was born of a virgin because the seed of the man would have sin it - but Christ was born of the Holy Spirit! My step Mom does a lot of genealogy and ive found great interest in it - she has traced our family way far back - Matthew did the same thing in the Gospel of Matthew - if Jesus was not from the linage of David - then He could not have been the messiah and we have all been fooled -but the truth is JESUS is the MESSIAH - there is no doubt - from a little baby born in a stall of a stable -placed in the manger - the wise men came from all around to see what God had done unto us..unto the lowly - the caught up in sin -those who deny Christ- He did this for them too -its just they don't know it - while Christ was born in a city upon Earth - we must be reborn from above as well - this little baby is Savior of the World -this little baby is KING JESUS - the Ruler of all come down to be and dwell with us - Let Christ save you this CHRISTmas and He will be able to give you the greatest gift of all - His very son - this little baby would one day die for the sins of those who He came for -unto us - JESUS was born in the City of David -also known as the house of bread - because CHRIST Is the living bread from heaven -lets feast on Christ at CHRISTmas! God be with us!
Emmanuel!

UNTO US
part two

LUKE 2:11
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, Which is CHRIST the LORD.

There has always been much debate to when exactly Jesus was born - this is a mute point to me - it does not matter when -it just matters that He was born and that HE is the Savior! Many have debated these non-issues for 2,000 plus years - many have been saying that this or that did not happen at this time or that time - I believe they miss the point when they focus on the diffrence between how we believe it happened and how it actually happened- all we have to go on is God's Word. It does not give many details - I believe because they are not have great importance - the main point is God came down - He came so close He had to become a man - He was born unto us - whenever He was born -it was the perfect time - I have heard Max Lacado talk about CHRISTmas and he says that the hardest part for Jesus was the fact that He had to become a man - He had to become part of His own creation - This day Christ was born - I am not sure of the exact date - it does not matter to me - The truth of the matter is JESUS was GOD made man - He came as an unasuming infant and yet HE was ruler of the world HE came to - the Creator of all things - the beginning -the end - the alpha and omega - Lets focus on Christ -not when He was born - we know where He was born though - in Bethleham - in a stable or cave - and He was laid in the manger! He was born of a virgin and lived like we do but without sin - He never sinned - not even once - lets celebrate every day this gift of God -this gift is the greatest gift ever - God came to Earth and Earth was never the same again - His blood saves our souls -His birth shows us God's unlimited love - this day - this is the day of salvation! Lets trust the King of Kings - JESUS the CHRIST - lets contiune on in our celebration of Christ's birth - this is what HE has done unto us! The least of us!
this CHRISTmas-lets not get wraped up in gifts but give our lives as a gift to God!

UNTO US
part one

LUKE 2:11
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, Which is CHRIST the LORD.

Welcome to the 2007 CHRISTmas series!
I pray that this will be a blessing to go with your celebration of Christ's birth - without HIS birth- there would be no hope-
This year I am going to do something different -instead of doing a verse each day - I feel lead to just use the same text but focus on different parts - I will deal with each underlined part and when we are done I hope to paint a beautiful picture of JESUS and HIS Birth..
Lets go and see just what GOD has done unto us....

The whole point of Christ coming to earth was to save Creation -a creation that was once prefect in every way - living in paradise - but caught in the fall - and losing humanity's connection with the Creator God - this caused separation between man and God and this chasm has been here since the beginning - Jesus came to bridge the gap - to bring man back to God in a perfect relationship- so God did this unto us - to us who are sinners - lost without Christ - tender to the elements of this world - caught in the darkness - Jesus Christ is the great light that came into the world - John says that Jesus is the Word made flesh - the Word that was made to dwell among us - it was done for us that we should all be saved by God's amazing grace! The little baby in the manger will be the man of the cross - and it was all done unto us - Jesus did not die for just a couple people - He died for all humanity - the problem is that not everyone takes His gift - the offer has been offered - God came near to us - Emmanuel - God with us!
God did this unto us - it was for us - He loves us so much HE was willing to send HIS SON unto us - His birth was like no other - His life was without sin - and He always obeyed HIS Father - all this was done unto us - lets celebrate this great event - lets worship the King of King and Lord of lords! There are just a few days before CHRISTmas arrives - are you ready to see the CHRIST child?
Unto us - He came - Unto us - He died and Unto us - He brought us back to God the Father! Rejoice in Christ! in HIS Birth! Unto us!
this CHRISTmas-Rejoice,
JESUS came to the World!

JESUS CAME IN THE FLESH SO THAT WE COULD BE REBORN IN THE SPIRIT
The Daily Blueprint for 12-18-07

James: book of Godly wisdom - part 20

JAMES 1:27
Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this: To visit the Fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep yourself unspotted from the world.

Today we finish up James Chapter 1 - I am going to take both Wednesday and Thursday off to pray and concentrate on the CHRISTmas messages this year - I need some extra time for a very important series - called Unto Us-
Please join me in prayer for this upcoming series -I will be back Friday LORD willing...and now today the word continues......

In Today's verse and the final verse of James 1 - he gets to the nitty gritty! He says it like it is - he gets simple on us but simple is always the best! We make things so complicated -we try and make it harder then it is - James says that pure religion is this - visiting the orphans in their need and widows in their need - and what is undefiled to God is keeping ourselves from the corruption of the world around us - to live for Christ - on these two James places it all - This verse really comforts me right now as our community goes through the loss of a young police officer who leaves behind 5 children and a wife- this verse fits with that - this family will need care from many - the community is coming together - police forces from other states are coming to the aid of these who lost this young man -The Word says we need to visit and care for those who are Fatherless - one way God has called me to do this is through Compassion International - you have seen various links on the prayer email and the daily devotionals - this is a practical way you can help the Fatherless or those who have no hope - poverty has taken away their hope - you can be used to bring relief in the name of Jesus - the point is do what God leads you to do - if you want to be pure before God - you must do what HE says - we must be willing to visit those who are hurting and bring them the peace that we know - to show them Jesus - and also to keep ourselves from the evil that is in this world - we must be doers of the Word -we must be willing to go where others won't!
Lets serve others by serving God - lets love those who have not experienced the love of Jesus Christ -lets walk with our LORD and tell those around us of HIS great love ---and you will be honoring our Father God in Heaven!

Unto Us is Born a Child - Christ the King!
Join me in the devotional series Unto Us...coming Friday!

a side note: There are many who live in darkness and yet we have the Light of Christ - the light of hope - we need to share what we know with those who don't - we need to give them what we have!
let's be pure before God!
in CHRIST we can bring Light to those in darkness!

James: book of Godly wisdom - part 19

JAMES 1:26
If any man among you seem to be religious, and does not bridle his tongue, but deceives his own heart,
this man's religion is vain.

We have one more verse to go in this first book of James- I will leave the book of James for a while and just do some random verses until Friday when I will being this years CHRISTmas devotionals - Unto Us begins on the 21st-

Today James changes gears - from discussing how we should put our trust in God to getting right down to the nuts and bolts of Biblical Christianity - James says if someone seems religious but cannot control his tongue -that their religion is useless -it has no effect on them at all - without Christ all of us would be in that boat - however -Christ is true - He is real and He loves us - He changes our hearts from the inside out - while the religious Leaders of Jesus' day concentrated on the outside while missing the inside - Jesus must touch us inside for us to change - sure even once that change takes place -we can still and often do sin -old habits on the outside are hard to break but a heart turned to God will be changed deeply in the inside - while we have these bodies we will never be all that we should be - sin came into this world and caused God's creation to become in a fallen state - only HIS light can change the darkness of our hearts! We must be born again -its not about religion at all -that's man's attempt to be right with God - Jesus Christ is all about relationship- a life changing relationship that is always changing us and challenging us to be more like our Savior Jesus!
Lets do as God leads us and show the world the truth - and the love of JESUS! Praise be to GOD!

a side note: We cannot be like CHRIST until we are willing to die to self-
Let JESUS take over for you in your life!
in CHRIST we are changed from the inside out.

RESCUE

Psalm 25:15-17 My eyes are always on the LORD, for he rescues me from the traps of my enemies. Turn to me and have mercy, for I am alone and in deep distress. My problems go from bad to worse. Oh, save me from them all!

Today I thought we would shift gears a little - I will get back to James next week and then next Friday we will being the CHRISTmas devotionals -this years theme is UNTO US...stay tuned.....
and now today's word!

In this world we will have trouble - Jesus has warned us of this - we live in a world that is tainted by sin -a world in which innocent die - and hate seems to rule where love should be - we live in a sad world and its all because of sin - the sin that happens in this world causes us all to suffer - you may not have even committed the sin but yet you suffer- we all suffer - sin has a cost -a great cost -it causes death - and it cost Jesus His life...With all that said - I want to tell you about a Rescue Mission - about Jesus coming to Earth to rescue us - to save us - to complete us - to make us the children of God - its by His act of obedience that we can have forgiveness of our sins and be indwelt with the Holy Spirit - we are now changed forever - there will be problems in your life - we are not home yet- we have to serve Jesus at all times -not just when things are going good - God knows best what we need- so lets trust in Him to rescue us - He has a plan - a mission - that He will never tire of - He wants as many to come to Him as can be - His offer is on the table - will you take HIM at HIS word? He has come to rescue you - and once He does -He will give you the power to endure the trials of this brief life - whatever we are going through won't last forever -soon we will be home -all because JESUS rescued us! Praise HIM - Praise HIM! amen!!!!!

a side note: When we see just how bad our sin is we can then see just how good JESUS is - He took our sin and placed it on HIMSELF - He rescued us! Praise HIM!
in CHRIST we are rescued!

James: book of Godly wisdom - part 18

JAMES 1:25
But whoever looks into the perfect law of liberty, and continues in it, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

In Today's verse James touches on one of the themes of being a Christ-follower -that is we must finish strong -another words the end result will be good if we would just endure - and I know this all to well - this year has been very hard on me and my family - we had no less then three family members with heath problems- one very serious - we nearly lost my Mom2 - but God has healed her - and my wife just had back surgery less then 2 weeks ago - there has been some trials along the way that we have to endure - the message is this - many start strong -and ease up in the middle and then give up - God is calling us to continue - to continue no matter what our circumstances look like - because we cannot gauge our lives on that! We must continue to fight the good fight of faith - Jesus has warmed us over and over that in this life there will be trials - not even He escaped them! We must endure till the end - and at times it will be very difficult and if you are in fact living for Christ- then you will face many trials and the enemy of our souls will fight and fight with you - trying to cause you to stumble - but stay the course -finish the race as Paul as said and if you do - you will be blessed - and it must be noted those blessings may not happen here on earth - we tend to focus on the what's in it for me factor -but when we follow Christ we can no longer do that -because God knows better what we need then we do - so if you are going through a rough spot in the race of life -take heart that God is with you and will never leave you - Trials are a fact of life and they seem bad - but GOD is good and HE will use whatever is needed to get us where He wants us- He did promise a safe landing but never said the flight would be smooth! Amen!

a side note: We are either in a trial - heading into one or heading out of one - and in all these places God is working it all out for HIS purpose!
in CHRIST our trials are temporary!

JAMES 1:23-24
For if any be a hearer of the Word only, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: for he beholds himself and goes his way, and streightaway forgets what manner of man he was.

Today's verses continue on the same theme as the last section. James continues with the thought of being a doer of the Word and not just a hearer - The example he gives is a man who looks in a mirror and know what he looks like and yet goes out and forgets what he looks like - another words -we can read the Word all day -but if we don't do more then just read it - its not enough - we must behold the Word of God and believe it - we cannot read it correctly if we don't really believe it - many have looked at the Bible with eyes of the faithless instead of the heart of the faithful - The Word is to come alive in our lives - We are not just to read it - to absorb it - that is not the purpose of the Word of God - it is to train us in the ways of our Lord Jesus and to make Him known to every one - we must get out of our holy huddles and begin to let the Word change our hearts - remember the power behind the inspired Word of God - its not of man but of God - that is why the Word of God can change lives - Ive heard a verse that says the Word of God can wash us - not that it can forgive our sins - but that it can change our hearts if we allow it too - Many of the world think we have been brain washed - I have to say we actually have -not in the way they see it - we have been changed by reading - applying and living in God's Word!

a side note: The WORD has power because GOD inspired the writers - they are from all walks of life and written within 100 years and yet it cohesive and the same theme runs all the way through it - the WORD is a live! now lets go live in it!
in CHRIST we see God in God's Word!

James: book of Godly wisdom - part 16

JAMES 1:22
...but be you doers of the Word and not hearers only,
deceiving yourselves.

In Today's verse James really puts it out in plain English - he does not mince words at all - he tells it just like it is - how can we only just hear the Word and yet not be doers of the Word - we could spend our lives reading God's word but if we never apply it - its not going to do any one any good - yes we find out about who JESUS is through HIS Word - we learn much through the Word - and we see exactly what means to be a blood bought child of God - but if we spend all our time just absorbing the Word and never once apply it -we are being shortchanged and lives around us will not be changed - I attend a weekly Bible study - I have done this about 2 years now - I have learned much but the stress has been on doing what I am being taught - there was a time when I knew very little scripture - but then God called me to this ministry and my knowledge of the Word increased and with it - my responsibility to be a doer of the Word - Lets apply what we have learned - because learning is just the first step -its not the only one - sometimes its good just to apply the Word's truth - in our circumstances - and in the problems of this sin-filled world of ours - we must be doers of the Word - many can warm a pew - but how many have been used to change the world around them? Let God use you today - let HIM teach you and then do it!
Just do it is what James is talking about! Now go--Do it! amen!

a side note: Its not what we learn that matters -
its how we use what we have learned!
in CHRIST we can do what the WORD says!

James: book of Godly wisdom - part 15

JAMES 1:21
Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted Word, which is able to save your souls.

The Word of God cuts to the chase and wastes little time getting at the heart of the matter - James says we need to put away evilness from our lives - from our speech and not even have the look of evil in our lives -as Christ followers we have no business sinning at all - it should no longer be with our new nature - sure the old is still with us - the flesh -the sinful part that will one day die-but again we don't have to sin just to sin - we can live lives of purity if we so choose to live in Christ! The Word of God is able to save our souls - not that the Word died for us - or that God sent HIS WORD but that HE send JESUS CHRIST and the WORD reveals just who HE is - many won't read the bible because of the conviction that comes from it - the truth is revealed - some want only the parts they agree with - we must take the whole WORD of GOD at face value - its able to save our souls but showing us our need for JESUS - our need for Salvation -the world around us does not understand -they don't want to hear our message -and they don't want to believe in our Savior - but that does not mean they cannot be saved - I know there are many ministries that give our the WORD and leave the rest to the Holy Spirit- have you ever noticed we seem to have no problem reading magazines - or read the latest novel - but when it comes to God's Word - the enemy stops us - he does not want us to know the WORD because if we don't - we are without any weapons to fight! Ive heard it said that if you only know John 3:16 and nothing else- that's good -but if you know more than that - you can fight the battle with the sword of truth!
Lets make sure we are living in the Word - I have to admit its been tough lately to read the Word -but its our lifesource -it shows us who JESUS our LORD Is - lets read the word -trust the word and believe the Word!

a side note: Have you read the WORD lately?

James: book of Godly wisdom - part 14

JAMES 1:19-20
Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: for the wrath of man does not work the righteousness of God.

Its been said that God gave us two ears and one month -so that we would listen twice as much as we speak! I am a quiet person -you won't hear me talking all that much - but even I have problems keeping my mouth shut when it needs to stay shut -Ive put my foot in my mouth a time or two - you would think the taste of leather soles would get old - but again and again - I have been in trouble- I have not been swift to hear or slow to speak - Its been taught to us since we were kids -that we must speak up for ourselves - we must stand up -or else people will walk over us - this advise seems odd in the face of James - James says we should be slow to speak but quick to listen - those of you who are married know all too well how we as husbands get into trouble with one simple thing - our mouths -when it comes to our wives -we cannot seem to keep our mouths shut - sigh - but the good news is if we take what James has said to heart - our lives would be much better - and we would save ourselves many hurt feelings- after all -our wrath will never bring about the righteousness of God. We may think our much talking -our loudness will cause our way to get done -its not the case -we won't many friends if we are not willing to be quick to listen - many times its not a hearing problem -but a listening problem -and many times we all miss so much because we won't submit to God and only run our mouths when He leads us too - lets be sure we allow God to have His way in our lives and lovingly tell others of His great love!

OUR WRATH BRINGS DEATH - GOD'S WRATH BROUGHT US LIFE

The Daily Blueprint for 12-4-07

James: book of Godly wisdom - part 13

JAMES 1:18
Of His own will beget He us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.

We are making our way through the first chapter of James - I may go and do something else once we are done with Chapter 1 - be praying for God's leading in this -thanks!
Today's verse talks about firstfruits - at first this verse makes little sense to me - but as I have been called into this ministry its always been my aim not to explain the verse -but write what God puts on my heart - going into what James says - we must understand what God did for us in the person of Jesus Christ, His only Son - He gave all - He gave His Son totally to us - to humanity - His only begotten Son came to this little blue planet - lived like an ordinary man - and died a criminal's death - some would say what a waste - but dig deeper -this was God's plan from the very beginning - some say its too simple -how could God become a man? I say too its hard to comprehend let alone understand -but I still believe it - and I know it was the only way God could save us from our sins - Jesus became something He never knew - not even once, sin. Through HIS word HE has revealed to us the precious truth of Christ - and in doing so HE has created in us fruit of righteousness so that we would not be like the world around any longer -lets live our lives in the freshness of Christ - of His redemptive Spirit - and during this season of joy and celebration -tell the world around us why we are so joyful -what is the meaning of our joy! Lets shout it to the rooftops that JESUS CHRIST IS LORD - we need not be ashamed - we are God's firstfruits!

a side note: The GOD of Heaven became the Son of Man on Earth.
in CHRIST our lives are fruitful!

JESUS CAME FROM HEAVEN TO EARTH TO BRING US REBIRTH

12_3_07 JAMES part 12

The Daily Blueprint for 12-3-07

James: book of Godly wisdom - part 12

JAMES 1:16-17
Do not err, my beloved brethren.
Every good gift and every prefect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variable, neither shadow of turning!

I just want to stop a moment and say just how amazing our Father God is!
You see how appropriate it is to being December with this verse -speaking of good gifts - the greatest gift of all is JESUS - the only SON of GOD who came to this world and lived like a man and died like a criminal - and yet never sinned once! That's the best gift -and you will read more about this in the series - Unto Us - this year I want to express just what God has brought unto us - the least of these - Jesus is the gift that God has sent!
Its so sad that many have rejected this gift- they have erred like James has said -and all the while many are getting ready for the season - not by worship of the King - not by remembering the Christ Child - no -getting the shopping done - the tree up - the cards sent - the family gatherings planned - let me say that none of these is bad - they are all good - but it should not be our focus - Jesus is whom we are to celebrate - as I have said I don't think I will be shopping this year - I won't be hurrying around and getting those last minute gifts I usually do - no this year I want to start a new tradition - I want to help those who are without - I want to focus my attention on those without the hope of JESUS - its not wrong to buy gifts - but here again it should not be our focus - the greatest gift ever was not found in wrapping paper - but in swaddling clothes in a manger in the middle of the night -that should be our focus - lets remember the greatest gift came from above - we receive salvation from this gift - we receive life through this gift - its the gift that really keeps on giving -
Lets Praise the Father of Lights for this awesome life changing gift!
PRAISE GOD!

a side note: the greatest gift was not brought but was given - the free gift of salvation was on the tag - and JESUS lived among us - the WORD became flesh - lets celebrate the greatest gift, JESUS!
in CHRIST we receive Grace freely!

COMING DECEMBER 21st - UNTO US - THE CHRISTmas Devotionals! Lets celebrate what GOD has done unto us! Be in prayer about this series! Thanks!

TELL SOMEONE ABOUT JESUS AND YOUR SEARCH FOR THE PERFECT GIFT WILL BE FINISHED!

11-29-07 James part 11

The Daily Blueprint for 11-29-07

James: book of Godly wisdom - part 11

JAMES 1:15
...Then when lust is concieved , it brings forth sin: and sin, when it has finished, brings forth death.

I have went ahead and decided not to do a devotional tomorrow- I will just send out an update on my wife's progress after surgery - I may wait till Saturday to send an update and Livin in Prayer may be postponed until next Saturday -thanks for your prayers and support!Daniel
...And now for today's message.....

You can see the transition that James is making in today's verse -first he tells us that sin is conceived in the heart- it begins with a thought - a thought to do something we know through conviction of the Holy Spirit to be wrong -temptation brings that hidden thought to light and if we give in -it leads to sin - this is why Jesus said if you lust for a women in your mind - its just as bad as actually committing adultery Not that Jesus meant in a physical way - but that it will turn into something more if we allow it to - Jesus says to stop before we even get to that point -we all know what will trigger us to give in -we know how far to go and often we push pass the limit and give in -only later to feel very guilty before God- its too bad we have trouble not giving in - Jesus - our example endured temptation we will never face - and HE has given us the power to do stand up against it - when we do give in and sin comes to life - it leads to death - its been so hard to hear of so many passing this month -death is more and more common to you the longer you live -I know we don't like to think about death -but we must - its the end result of sin - you see all have sinned - sin entered the world and the perfection God made for us was gone - only to be restored by Jesus!
Lets recognize our temptations - and our limits and trust God to keep us on the right path that leads only to Him - He does not want us to give into temptation and get caught in sin -for He knows this will lead to death.

a side note: There is always a way out of giving into temptation - just follow CHRIST and HE will show you the way.....
in CHRIST we are given life even when we deserve death.
